What if your limited resources are actually seeds for miracles? This episode dives into the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000, showing how surrender—not calculation—unlocks divine multiplication.
A boy’s simple lunch became more than enough when placed in Jesus’ hands. In the same way, our breakthrough often begins when we stop clinging to what little we have and start trusting the One who multiplies.
More than provision, Jesus invites us into deeper relationship. What seed are you holding back? Sow it—and watch what God can do.

The Crowd's Hunger for Signs
Speaker 1we know and we know about this story. This is where you know jesus feeds the 5000. Okay, and if you are getting ready to sleep, thinking that you already know everything from this story, let me awaken you with a small story. When we were young people I mean, I'm still young, but we had a group of friends. We used to be volunteers and when we go out to lunch some of the gangs of young people might understand this or may be able to connect there is always one or two friends in that gang who will make sure that the food is not wasted.
Speaker 1Some humans who are not superhuman, some humans have an overflow limit an overflow limit, okay, but they have an inbuilt superhuman strength to push as much food and make sure that no waste on earth. Okay, right, that there is no waste on the earth. Now, here today, we just sang that beautiful song that, as the deer panted, you know, as my soul hungers. We are not talking about a physical hunger, although we are looking at a, you know, a miracle that is related to the hunger that you know the crowd had. So, with that, hunger is a universal language Anyone can understand. The moment you start to fast, right, you want to have a sneaker, yeah, so, okay, anyways. So this is not just about craving for food, like I and my wife. Oftentimes, in the late night after our work is done, we crave for cream, stone, ice cream and what is your favorite? Exactly right, we should form a life group for nuts, overload, creamstone life group. Anyone hungry and wanting to have, I don't know, creamstone will be gained from this. But we will go to this passage and let's see. There are some real good biblical principles that we can learn from this story and from each verse. We will grab something out of it. Okay, john, chapter 6, verses 1 to 14. Let's read it together. I mean, I'll read it to you, listen, but that's good enough. Okay, John, chapter 6 and verse 1, here we go.
Speaker 1After these things, jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. Then a great multitude followed him because they saw his signs which he performed on those who were deceased. And Jesus went up on the mountain and there he sat with his disciples. Now, the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. Then Jesus lifted up his eyes and, seeing a great multitude coming toward him, he said to Philip remember the name, philip. Where shall we buy bread that they may eat. But this he said to test him. Jesus says to Philip to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him quickly, bringing out the calculator on his mobile phone and calculates everything you know, number of people, and then, okay, 200 den dinari worth of bread is not sufficient for them. That every one of them may have a little. It's not even the overflow. We are not considering the superhuman overflow, friends, at all. Okay, one of his disciples, andrew Simon, peter's brother, said to him there is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many? Then Jesus said make the people sit down. Now. There was much grass in the place. So the men sat down in number about 5,000. Just men, 5,000. Imagine kids, children's under school, school, teens, ministry and all these things. Yeah, imagine that number for Hope, unwanted Church, second Ward, campus, right, having four services, five services and having 5,000 people where Jesus comes in every Sunday and feeds them. Yeah, it is all of our dream. We all belong to the same church.
Speaker 1And verse 11. And jesus took the loaves and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to the disciples and the disciples to those sitting down, and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted, as much as they wanted. It started off with little what good is little? And then as much as they wanted Verse 12,. So when they were filled, he said to his disciples gather up the fragments that remain so that nothing is lost. If you have a pen, underline, nothing is lost. This is where the superhuman friends come in and make sure that nothing is lost. Make sure that nothing is lost. Verse 13,. Therefore, they gathered them up and filled them, 12 baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. And those men, when they seen the sign that Jesus did, said this is truly the prophet who is to come into the world, for whom we have been waiting. Amen.
Jesus Sees Our Needs Before We Ask
Speaker 1How wonderful is that story. Did God speak to you just by reading that story? Something new that you haven't heard? Maybe some connections, but let's look at each of them. The first one, but let's look at each of them. The first one the crowd followed Jesus out of hunger. In verse 1, we see, and verse 2, we see. Then a great multitude followed him because they saw his signs.
Speaker 1What started off with seeing as a sign, hunger to see more signs or get a miracle or get a healing or get a breakthrough. What started off with that? Now, towards the end of the story, we see that they are beginning to declare that Jesus is the prophet that we have been waiting for. So look at the transition how, wanting to see more miracles to wanting to have a relationship or wanting to have, you know, some kind of a attachment with this person.
Speaker 1All right, hunger drives us. Hunger drives us. For some of us, nuts, but nuts overloaded for some others. But what we are hungry for matters. We see entrepreneurs around the world who are day and night working on some idea because they are hungry for becoming rich or becoming famous or wanting to solve a problem. It drives them. It drives them to do more and invest themselves into that. Hunger drives us. But what matters the most is that what we hunger for, the best that we can hunger for, is the presence of God. Amen, amen. What started off as a hunger for miracles Now transformed into hunger for this person, amen.
Speaker 1Now let's go further. Jesus sees you. Now some of us are hungry for attention, purpose, healing. I don't know what season you are, but I am sure you will be able to come up to a word that you can attach yourself to. Some of you will need deliverance, breakthrough, breakthrough. Whatever it might be, jesus sees you. Jesus knew that they were hungry. The crowd was hungry, you know, even before they said a word amen. Now let's go to a moment where Jesus doesn't just satisfy hunger, he multiplies surrender. Okay, let's look at the story and we will, you know, deeply understand that.
Speaker 1John, chapter 6, verse 5. Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming towards him and this is the scenario that's happening. Okay, you know, this is the moment or the time where John the Baptist was just beheaded. Now, this is the you know the order or the season that they are in. Now you can imagine that a prophet, who you know, who gained attention, who was famous, now being beheaded and you can almost feel the pain and anxiety in these people. And they were hungry, and that is what Jesus sees in them in the way that they were coming, what Jesus sees in them in the way that they were coming. Sometimes, just by our body language, we can say that you know someone is hungry or thirsty. That means thirsty, right, that means hungry. So free acting lessons. Now this happened right after John the Baptist was beheaded, the disciples themselves. Now they are also following someone right, and you know there might be a little bit of confusion for them. Yeah, you know, a couple of them came from John the Baptist and started following Jesus, from John the Baptist and started following Jesus. You can see what they were going through.
Speaker 1Jesus knows your need before you open your mouth. The crowd didn't need to shout we are hungry, please speak to us. We have confusion, we have. You know I need a healing or something, but Jesus knew and Jesus knows every need that you have. As you are sitting in that chair in his presence, god sometimes calls us to serve. When we are about to give up, when we are, you know, when we have a lot of confusion, when we are going ourselves through a difficult season, god still calls us to serve him Because he knows, and he wants us to know, that it is in the serving of God is where we will find our breakthrough. Amen. Matthew, chapter 6, verse 8,. Your father knows what you need before even you ask him. Now that doesn't give us a license to give God an opportunity to read our mind and not open our mouth, but the same word of God also says that unless you ask, you will not receive. Confess what you need, amen, amen.
Testing Our Trust: Philip's Calculation
Speaker 1I would like to give some questions as we journey through this. Now here's a question what need in your life are you carrying silently? What need are you carrying silently that you are not able to express yourself before God? Can you trust that Jesus already sees it, that Jesus already knows it? Now, I'm sure each and every one of us, we have at least one desire, one prayer that we haven't prayed yet, or we have prayed enough and we did not see an answer, that we want to give up. Now here's a challenge for each and every one of us. God calls us to ask him, amen.
Speaker 1The second point is Jesus tests our trust. John, chapter 6, verse 6. He said he asked this only to test him. To whom? Philip Right. To test him. To whom? Philip Right. But this he said to test him, for he himself knew it's almost like okay, guess what I'm doing, right. Okay, and I know what I'm doing, but where are you at? Jesus already know what miracle he's going to do, but where are you at, where is your trust level, where is your faith level? Because he does not want to do it alone, he wants to do it together.
Speaker 1I and David, you know, we did a miracle and he could like proudly say my son had a faith that I could do, like. If someday Leo comes, my son comes and says that my dad put me in a school, I mean it's a good school. But Even without him knowing, I know that I will take care of my son. But at some point, if he begins to trust and starts partnering with me and expresses his faith and trust in me, that's even more joy. It's a partnership that we establish and that partnership is given a name called relationship, that I and God we get to do some amazing things on this earth. And Jesus is asking Philip, hey, philip, shall we do this together? And Philip is like Well, if I use my human brain, 200 denarii, but also very little. And Jesus was like Okay, I got to show you so that at least the next time you will begin to trust in me.
Speaker 1Jesus isn't testing their strength or capacity. Jesus isn't testing you of your strength or of your capacity. He's inviting us into trust. He's inviting us into trust. He's inviting us into trust. Now Jesus is not asking okay, how many reps can you do? How many dumbbells can you lift? For how long you can pray? Now, jesus is not testing that. He is testing where our heart is yet, in whom we are putting our trust, in whom we are putting our trust, in whom we are putting our faith? In what areas of your life is Jesus inviting you to stop calculating and start trusting? In what area is Jesus asking you to stop calculating and start trusting him?
Speaker 1Okay, let me give you one illustration. Okay, now, if I give this bread to this row, special row, and if I ask you to please kindly have each of you just an illustration, don't think. Let me show for everyone. Just they know, just so that they know what they will get. Okay, for you. This little piece, right? Would you have enough? Of course, right? If you calculate how many slices are there and then cut them into probably four, then I will get quarter of a slice of a bread, which will fill nothing, and you are expecting me to be satisfied with that quarter of a slice of a. Okay, please, sorry, this is just for illustration. I'm still including you. If I include you, their faith will go down. So that's why, just next time, I will bring another packet of bread.
Speaker 1You see what our human mind does. It begins to calculate. It thinks that it is a mathematician, though it knows that it is poor in math. Yeah, brother, 10,000 come 9,000, go 1,000. Yes, like how friends calculate at a birthday party Pocket money 500, and then 100 goes to biryani and then 100 chocolates. I will still save 200,.
Speaker 1Yes, jesus doesn't see our capacity. Jesus doesn't see how much is there, he just sees what do you have? Hey, moses, what do you have? And Moses was well, I just stick. Oh, that's enough. Okay, good, let's work with that. What? Who? Who goes with a stick into the presence of Pharaoh? Who goes with a stick into the presence of Pharaoh? Who goes with a smooth stone to fight one of the? Imagine you going into the ring of WWE and you are facing you know whichever giant and going with. Well, I might not have dressed well, but I have the smooth stool. That's weird.
From Limited Resources to Heavenly Abundance
Speaker 1Our human mind wants to be God. You don't know what you are doing, but you will not be able to overcome this challenge. But if you look past that, and that is where Jesus comes in and he says don't look at that, that's not going to feed you. I am the sustainer of life, I am the bread of life, and he is going to make sure that we will overflow Genesis, chapter 22, verse 1 to 14.
Speaker 1Abraham's test with Isaac, human mind it's the promised child that you gave God and you are asking me to give back, get behind me, satan. I mean, that's not what Abraham said, that's what the human mind say, right, obviously, that's the most logical question that Abraham might have had. But he knew that it was God, because of his relationship, that God himself says that, abraham, my best friend. That means there was a relationship, there were partnerships before he listened to God's voice, trained his human brain, trained his flesh desires, his calculations and everything. And he would say hey, shut up, human mind, I'm listening to my father, I'm listening to my God. Because of a relationship, and he was able to overcome the logical expression that comes out of our mind and begins to see beyond his son Isaac, beyond, and that's the only reason Abraham was able to obey God, god's command.
Speaker 1Now let me ask you this in what area are you still calculating? The first time I asked the question, some of you started calculating. This month's budget, salaries came First question will I be able to tithe? Right, obviously, will I be able to tithe? I had the same question initially Will I be able to tithe? I had the same question initially Will I be able to tithe? But can you stop calculating and start trusting, because that's where the breakthrough is, that's where you will learn, that's where we will go into the next level of trusting in God. And God won't skip lessons. Even if it takes 40 years roaming around in wilderness, god doesn't skip lessons. Even if it takes 40 years roaming around in wilderness, god doesn't skip lessons. He makes sure that we are fully equipped for the purpose that he has upon each and every one of us. Maybe you're not seeing a breakthrough because you're still calculating. You're still looking at the quarter slice of a bread that I will be getting, but you might not be looking beyond this bread packet. I don't know if I made you hungry. I hope it is for the word of God.
Speaker 1John, chapter six, verse seven. It would take more than half a year's wages. When your resources run out. Listen to me very carefully. You might be in this season when your resources run out. Listen to me very carefully. You might be in this season when your resources run out. Heaven's abundance kicks in when your resources run out completely.
Speaker 1When Jesus had to feed the little kid's response was oh well, I see a lot of 5,000 men. They might devour me, so let me store. No, that was not his response. He made sure that humans did not have anything in our hands. Okay, no, I represent all of man 5000 men, uncles and everyone. Let's not have anything in our hand. This might be lunch box yummy pop, charanam, but with avakai, okay. But okay, Now we are out of resources, but we put all of our resources into God's hand. And that's when little boy who was supposed to be filled, filled many. How? By not looking at what he had in the lunchbox. Amen, looking at what he had in the lunchbox. Amen, philip saw the cost. Jesus saw the crowd with compassion. Philip saw the cost Calculation, but Jesus saw with compassion, saw the hunger with compassion. Now, that might be the only lens you might be missing from your arsenal in your daily life. Maybe, if we can begin to look at our situations from a compassion point of view, we'll be able to crack a miracle into our midst. Amen, jesus doesn't just fill stomachs, he reveals himself as the bread of life.
Speaker 1Now I have one more question. Okay, imagine that this is the little kid's lunchbox. All right, okay, what do you see? Lunchbox, okay, can you guess what's in this? You might be able to smell it little bit. Fast row pastors, anything idli, okay, idli, let's go with idli.
Speaker 1What? What's inside this lunchbox? Let me tell you. It might be very yummy. It's a seed for miracle. A seed for a miracle.
Speaker 1Now we might be looking at a five loaves and two fish, but what God sees, what Jesus sees, is a seed for miracle. Now you might be having wallets and might be having resources at your hand. They are all seeds of miracles, seeds of breakthroughs. But something else comes along with the seed it is to be polished and kept in display. What is the purpose of a seed? The purpose of a seed is to be sown. The purpose of a seed is to be sown.
Seeds of Miracle: What's in Your Lunchbox
Speaker 1Now it also matters where we are sowing. That might be one of the foolish decisions that we might take. We are not holding on to my seed, but I am sowing it in a wrong place. But the word of God says that the best place where we can sow our seed, if we need a miracle, is the house of God, aligned. Doing anything that is aligned with the word of God. It might not be just the church, but you might be sowing into someone else's life without any selfishness, without expecting any return, without expecting any applause. You might be doing because you know that's what the word of God says you are sowing the seed of miracle.
Speaker 1The seed of miracle will remain as a seed of miracle or it might bear a bad fruit, unless you sow it into the house of God, unless you sow according to the principles of the word of God, unless you sow with intentions, which is to glorify God, unless you sow from a place of thankfulness. God, I thank you. And when you do that, when you have that attitude, when you have that lifestyle, when you have that kind of a sense or a relationship with God, you will not be able to ask yourself a question Will I be able to tithe this month? Will I be able to give to a certain person? You know, when the spirit inspires you, when God gives us an opportunity, you, we will not put our mind into execution and quickly calculate, and this is what I will be left with. You will only stop at that question. What will I be left with? Where God wants to give you something that you will have leftovers Left with you will have leftovers abundance overflowing. That's where God wants to take each and every one of you on your personal journey. But even more than the leftovers, god is much, much, much more interested in looking beyond this lunchbox, beyond this seed of miracle, beyond this miracle. He wants to see beyond the miracle and begin to see your relationship with the miracle worker. That's all it matters for our God. Are we having a relationship with him? Because when we have our relationship with him, we do not know how he will make it, but he will make sure that he will come through in our seasons of lack, and he will make sure that he will come through in our seasons of lack and he will make sure that we will have leftovers.
Speaker 1Now I want to ask you a question how much did this little boy give into the hands of Andrew? How much One lunchbox worth Okay. How much One lunchbox worth Okay. How much did he take back? No, not all 12 baskets, but I'm sure definitely more than Andrew, one of the disciples who took the lunchbox man because of you. So good, why don't you take my basket? No, uncle, I cannot carry all the way to. Okay, fill your lunchbox and little more in the bag that carries your lunchbox, let you enjoy the leftovers as well.
Speaker 1Isn't that wonderful that we not only be able to, you know, bless all the people, but also participate in the leftovers. Just see the contrast where you might be asking with the human capability. Logically, you might be asking will I be left with something after giving Two transition to wow, all fed and still I am experiencing and enjoying the leftovers. I mean, these leftovers are not for him. He already ate enough, overflowing. He might be one of those superhuman friends and even after eating all of that, 12 baskets leftovers and he takes this leftover and probably gives to his parents. You know what happened and the gospel is preached. You know this man who is a prophet. He fed all of us with this lunchbox and his mummy. Everyone ate papucharanam with our guy. Yeah, everyone were hungry, mom and all of this.
Beyond the Miracle to the Miracle Worker
Speaker 1If only we set our focus beyond the seed of miracle, beyond the miracle, and we get our sight on the miracle worker, you will see that he is holding a miracle in his hand. I don't know what season you are in. What you bring, god multiplies and we might be bringing a whole lot of seeds of miracle every Sunday, or probably to your life groups, and maybe we are not at a point where we can give back. Give, let it bless many and let me enjoy the leftovers after I eat. I have seen I and my wife, we have seen how God blessed us. It's not by our strength. God inspired us to give and, as a test of faith, we did it. And we see how God inspired us to give and, as a test of faith, we did it. And we see how God blessed us. Unlimited favor from my manager or in the COVID 30 to 40% hike job after losing my job. I have seen I tasted that quarter of a slice, ate it to the full, and I experienced the joy that is there and today.
Speaker 1I do not know what's in your hand, but I want you to look beyond the miracle, beyond the season that you are in. He multiplies whatever we surrender. What do you have? A stick, and God multiplies, multiplies his courage. What do you have? One smooth stone or five smooth stones? Okay, battle won. And you know what? All this, while he's not looking at our hand, he's not looking at the seed of miracle, he's looking at our heart, always with God. In this relationship with our God, it is always an invitation to have trust in him. Shall we all rise to our feet, even as you stay there? What is your hunger today? Shall we all rise to our feet, even as you stay there? What is your hunger today? Jesus knows, he sees, he knows how to perform a miracle. But even more than that, he is inviting you to trust. What do you have in your hand? Would you be willing to let go into the house of God, into the places where God wants to sow your seed of miracle into? Whenever God gives an opportunity, jump at it, you.
