Mother's Day can carry joy, pressure, gratitude, grief, and longing all at once. So we slow down and ask a bigger question: what if God designed motherhood to help us understand His heart?

Building on a striking biblical theme — a father's heart expressed with a mother's love — we follow Scriptures that use maternal images to make God's character feel personal and near. There's the tenderness of motherly care, but also the fierce side of love that protects. From Hosea's mother bear defending her cubs to the courage of the Hebrew midwives in Exodus, we see that God is not distant when His children are threatened. We also sit with Isaiah 49:15 and the story of Hannah, because waiting can feel like silence — until God moves in His time.

Then we get practical: comfort that holds you close, faith passed down through faithful women, and why the kitchen table can be the most powerful pulpit in a child's life. We honor mothers for character, not output, and make space for complicated stories, including those mothered by someone outside their bloodline.

We close by speaking to four groups: the grateful, the grieving, those longing to become mothers, and anyone who needs to receive God's unconditional love made visible in Jesus.

Mother’s Day Welcome And Joy

SPEAKER_00

Well, today happens to be Mother's Day, as we all know, so I'm going to talk a lot about mothers, motherhood, and taking that as an example and bringing the word of God into each of our lives. How many of you are happy? Okay, turn to your neighbor and tell them, smile. You know this, Jesus loves you. Huh? Smile, tell them, smile, Jesus loves you. Come on. Monday to Saturday, you may not smile. When you go and look at your boss, you say, My God, plastic smile. But in church you can. Just be free. You know, allow your worries to leave you. You know, just be yourselves and just ask God, God, what do you have for me today? Just let it be deposited. Amen. So today happens to be Mother's Day, and uh, you know, um, we just don't want to celebrate a role, you know, kind of a thing. Um, we just don't want to say thank you for just cooking, cleaning, and sleepless night. It goes beyond, actually. You know, that's what we want to do. You know, we want to go a little deeper. We understand from the word of God, as you keep reading the Bible, uh, God expresses himself, shows forth himself in different ways, you know, so that man can understand, you know, who God is and how he functions, what is his love like? You know, sometimes we put God in a uh in a box and say, you know, he sits on a throne, you know, he's in splendor and he has all these angels, he has a stick in his hand, you know, ready to uh do his work as a father. We have this image and picture, but as you read through the Bible, God expresses, shows forth himself in numerous forms and shapes, and trying to get man to understand who God is, what is God all about, and how we can relate to God, everything God has, you know, uh orchestrated this. And you see in the Bible that many times God, you know, talks about the image of a mother in the Bible. So if you want to understand God, go and find a mother. You will understand who God is and what God is like. Amen. A God is a father, but who lives like a mother. Wow. A father, church, are you all able to picture this? A father living like a mother. If you read the Bible, it is very evident, and the Bible never takes this analogy of example of a father. Nowhere God never took, but he took an example of a mother, which I'm going to talk about today. Irrespective of your gender, today we need to understand who God is, how he functions, and if we have to do that, we have to study the life of a mother. And that's what God does in the scriptures. So I'm going to highlight a few scriptures for us to understand the function of God and how God uses motherhood to explain and bring his love into each of our lives. Amen.

A Father’s Heart With Motherly Love

SPEAKER_00

So I want to introduce my title, A Mother's Love, a glimpse of God, a father's heart expressed with a mother's love. He always used a mother in the Bible, never a father. Why think about it for a moment, and some scriptures I'm going to highlight today. I want all of you to be alive and active and be uh in a responsive mode to receive from God as we go through the scriptures.

God’s Image Placed In Mothers

SPEAKER_00

Number one, part number one, the love of God placed in mothers. Genesis chapter 1, verse 27. The Bible says that God made man and woman in the image of God. That means when he created man and woman, he there are some attributes and qualities that have been put in us. Some of the other qualities we must work on, but some qualities have already been put in. You take away the religion part of it, no matter who you are, there is a conscience that will tell you, do this, don't do this. Don't say lies either of it. If you are a believer or an unbeliever, Christian or non-Christian, it will tell you because you are built like that. That's how we are. So in Genesis chapter 1, God says you are created in the image of God. So there are some attributes and qualities, but you have to understand God picks up woman's qualities as a mother's qualities and he explains to us who God is, how he functions, and how we have to relate to God. And if we don't understand this concept and ideology, always God will be distant for you. He will always be a father, but you will never experience the love of a mother from the father. So today's message is all about how to experience the love of a mother from a father. He doesn't talk about the father in the Bible, nowhere. No example is taken. Are you all okay? Say uh-huh. I said, are you all okay? Don't get so serious. This is church. Every mother who has carried a child knows something holy happens in those nine months. A life being formed in secret, knit together by the hand of God and held by a woman who would give everything to protect what she carries. When God designed a mother's love, listen, church, when God designed a mother's love, he was not just providing a biological function. It's beyond that. He was creating a living demonstration of his own character. If I have to understand the character of God, he is telling you, go and find a mother. You'll at least some percentage you'll be able to understand who God

Fierce Protection And Holy Courage

SPEAKER_00

is, what kind of love he has for us. Number two, the protectiveness, you know, comes from a mother. Some people think mother's love is only soft and gentle. Did anybody see the other side of the mother? Huh? Some are smiling, laughing. You know? Sometimes some mothers are not that gentle. You know, some brothers were joking with me and having fun. No, I they had brooms also pasta in their hands. And all the dishes are flying here. That's what they told me after the first service. So what we understand is there is a portion of aggressiveness in mothers to protect their children. They will stand up for the cause. That is a quality built into them. While fathers are sitting, mothers are always running, trying to do so many things. There's no problem that we are not finding, you know, we are not differentiating anything. What we are trying to look at is who your God is. Can you, did you understand your God? Is he just a religious model for you or somebody who's living with you every day? Because your mother lives with you every day. Without your mother, it's very difficult to survive. Even till today, by the grace of God, I have my mom and my dad. She's 82, my mom. Thankful for the moms. Amen. In Hosea chapter 13, verse 8, God describes his own passion as being like a mother bear robbed of her cubs. Relentless and protective. Ask any mother what she would do if someone threatened her child. What will the mother do? It looks like I'm talking to all the sleeping giants. The 12 o'clock service is very peaceful. You do what you want, we will do what we want. I think I asked a question, and all of you like let him go on what he wants to do, let him do. What do you all think? What will a mother do when the child is threatened? Huh? Mother will take a stand. Amen. One of the most powerful forces God has created is motherhood. If we want to really understand. Exodus chapter 1, when Pharaoh ordered all the infants to be killed. Just an example, how mothers stand up for the kids. You know, all the babies were supposed to be killed. There are two midwives who stood up and they saved the baby. They put their lives at risk and they saved the baby. Do you know which was the baby? Sir, do you know who's the baby? Do you know who Moses was? One of the greatest prophets for them, Israel in Israel. His words are life for them. They will just bow down. They just can't see beyond that. If there's a if it's a religious Israelite. These women stood for the cause. They protected the child. Amen. They chose to protect life at great personal risk, and God blessed them for it. Wow. These women with the heart of mothers and God stood with them. I want all the mothers to know God stands with you. God is with you. Amen.

A Love That Cannot Forget

SPEAKER_00

Number three, a love that cannot forget. Isaiah chapter 49, verse 15. Can a mother forget the baby at her breast? Though she may forget, I will never, I will not forget you. God uses the most unthinkable image here. Can you all understand the significance of can a mother ever think like that? And we are not talking about somebody who's 20 years old or 30 years old or 40 years old. The baby, it's an infant, nursing child. Can a mother leave the nursing child? Forget the nursing child? Impossible! But God says he goes back to a mother. Can a mother forget the baby when she's nursing? Though she may forget, that means there is a possibility or percentage of mothers who may forget. But I will not forget you. Wow. That is the power of God. And he's explaining his love through the mother, and you know, right through the Bible. He says, even that extreme case were possible, I will never forget you. My love for you outlasts even a mother's love. Hannah in 1 Samuel chapter 1 captures this beautifully. She wept, she prayed. She was so overcome with grief that Eli thought she was drunk. You know the story, Hannah's story? I said, Church, do you know the story?

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Say aha. Very good. But she was a mother whose arms were empty. Think about it. Her arms were empty. And heart is breaking. God heard her. He opened her womb. She bore Samuel, one of the greatest prophets in Israel. Can you imagine how God functions and the very plan of God? When there was no hope left, this woman went into the presence of God and she cried out to the Lord. And the Lord heard her. Part two of

Comfort That Holds You Close

SPEAKER_00

my message: God's love expressed like a mother. Right? Isaiah chapter 66, verse 13. As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you, says the Lord. Right? The Hebrew word for comfort, you know, means to breathe deeply, to go with compassion, to hold someone in their pain. And God says, as a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you. It's for all of us, irrespective of whichever gender. Like a mother, I stand for you. I am a father, but still I can understand the love of a mother, and I want to be there for you. I want to stand with you. You cry in my presence, I will hear your prayer. You need deliverance, you need breakthrough. I will definitely bring that into your life. Who can say amen? Number two, God nurtures through faithful women.

The Kitchen Table As Pulpit

SPEAKER_00

Here we see grandmother and mother, their story with Timothy, you know, how grandmother and mother played an important role in Timothy's life. Right? He became like a young pastor in his time. And mother and grandmother played an important role. Lewis and Eunice, both of them played a key role. And Paul talks about it. You know, so it is for us to know that mothers and grandmoms, you have great responsibility to pray and prepare the children for their mission and for the very purposes of God. Do you know the most powerful pulpit? Church, I am listening to me, the most powerful pulpit is not here in the church, it is your kitchen table. What happens around it? When you sit together at the table, what is your point of discussion? What is the line of thought? It is not here, my friend. It is there that they are shaped. And you teach them the wonderful precepts of the word of God. It's not just bringing them into the world. Yes, God uses us, but He also gives us a commission to prepare them. What's happening around them? That will be the greatest pulpit for your child, not a pulpit in the church. Mothers who teach their children the ways of God are not just raising their children, they are shaping history. Just like Hannah did. She shaped history. She just did not let it go. To every mother in this room, the faith you pour into your children is never wasted. Even when you cannot see it with you at that time yet, but it's still growing. Part three.

Honor Character Not Productivity

SPEAKER_00

Honoring mothers. So mothers who are already here, this is for you. Honoring mother, honor her character, not her service. Amen. Proverbs chapter 31, verse 25, 28, 20, and 30. I'm going to skim through these three scriptures. Okay. She's clothed with strength and dignity. Her children arise and call her blessed. A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Most of the time we look at women to be superhuman. Like they are doing so much. They have that potential also, right? They can do multiple tasks while men have to figure out how to handle those things. But they are very good at handling such tasks. They are built by God like that. You know, but the scripture is not talking about celebrating, listen to me, celebrating her productivity, but it is talking about celebrating her character. Motherhood is not about what she's doing, how what time she's waking up and how she's running around. The productivity is great, you know, in normal terms, but God here is talking about the character that is built into her, because character is transferred to the child. A woman who fears the Lord, and the result is was the result. Her children rose up and called her blessed. When was the last time you went to your mother and called her blessed? When was it? Not just giving flowers. I did my duty this morning. I gave like with my daughters and I went to my mom. I gave flowers. All that is done. And we feel happy about it. Maybe cut a cake also. Yeah, eat one piece, it's over. But when did you appreciate? Celebrate your mom. Did you call her blessed? Come on now, I'm challenging each of you. How many times you have taken your mom for granted? It's your role, it's your recipe. You do it. No, my friend. It of course it's their role and responsibility, but that doesn't mean you take things for granted. You go and celebrate your mom if you haven't done it so far. In the ordinary moments, maybe a phone call. Word of thanks. Taking time to say, I see you, I see what you gave. I do not take you for granted. Moms, mothers, many times you are taken for granted. Sometimes there's such kind of grief and burden that you carry. Please know that the Lord is the one who comforts you. You take courage and strength from God. Number two, love beyond bloodlines.

Covenant Love Beyond Bloodlines

SPEAKER_00

Not everyone has had a perfect mother. Some in this room carry wounds from that relationship. Some have been mothers to people who did not come from their own body. You have raised people up. They are not your children. But you have took care of them. God bless you for that. You take extra effort to take care of their needs and provide for them and do a lot of things for them. You are like their parent, but you are actually not in the blood with the blood. Ruth said to Nayumi, listen to me, church, where you go, I will go. Your people will be my people, your God, my God. That is not convenient love, that is covenant love. Godly love is not limited. By bloodlines. It goes beyond. As I conclude this morning, this will take another five minutes. I want you to please pay attention. We have looked at God as a father, as a creator, an Almighty who chose to reveal his love through a picture of a mother. He comforts like a mother. He protects like a mother. He nurtures, holds, and never forgets like a mother. He did not create motherhood by accident. He designed it to be a window into his own heart. He created motherhood so that all of us who live on this earth understand the very heart of God when we look at the mother. When you look at godly mother, you are seeing the love of God in skin and bones and sleepless night and quiet praise. Whether you had a wonderful mother or a broken one, listen to me, church. Whether you had a mother in joy or in grief, whether you have never known a mother's love, that is possibility. God says to you today, I am that love, I am the source, and I am the one who never forgets, and I am the one who runs to you. If you have never felt motherly love in your life, God is saying, I am the one. You know, in Romans chapter 8 he says, Neither death nor life nor anything in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. That is mother's love. Without limit, without end, without condition. And it comes from the father of all creation.

Four Hearts God Wants To Meet

SPEAKER_00

There are four groups of people I would like to talk today. You don't have to raise your hands, you just have to respond, you just have to pray. Four groups of people that could be seated here. I'm talking to men and women, probably it will address more women as mothers or individuals as singles. But I would like you to relate into your hearts and receive the touch of God in your lives. Are you all ready? You're all sleeping again. I said, are you all ready? You've got to be ready to receive from God. It's not going to be magic, by the way. Say, God, I'm ready. Come on, either whatever gender. Say, God, I'm ready. I want your touch. Amen. Number one, those who are grateful. If God placed a mother in your life who loved you, prayed for you, shaped you, and made you who you are, give thanks. This is a kind of gesture which we did today to express, you know, from church side, but what about you? Amen. Reach out to her today. Say it, I see you, I honor you, I love you. Tell your mom, you are blessed. You are blessed. Number two, are you listening to me? Those who are grieving. Those who are grieving. If Mother's Day is hard today, because of loss, you have lost your mom. Your mom is probably not with you today. There is grief. You wish you could go and say thank you, mom. But there is grief. You lost your mom. Longing, pain. Probably you feel alone. But you have to know you are not alone. God sees your grief and He weeps with you. This is the mother's heart that he expresses. Category number three. I prayed for many people, many couples, which I'm going to talk about right now.

Hope For Women Longing For Children

SPEAKER_00

Those who long to be mothers. Right? I want to speak to you. Those of you who want to be mothers, and you are not yet. Okay, by the way, I'm talking about those who are in marriage covenant, okay? And simply I say, I want to be mother, no, this is not for you. You know, you know, sometimes you can today in our time, you can, ah, he's talking to me. No, I'm not talking to you. I'm only talking to those who are in marriage covenant and uh women, you know, to be mothers, to make it clear, you know, sometimes get confused. Oh my praise God. Pastor talked about me only. He said I can go and become a mother. No, no, no, I'm not talking about you. Okay, so I want to get that right. All right. Uh yeah. Those of you want to be mothers and are not yet. Those of you been told, listen to me, it will never happen. Somebody might have it will never happen. There's some problem or something, you know, maybe it will never happen. Motherhood will never come. I've seen all these cases in my career as a pastor in ministry. And I stood with couples to pray for them. Pastor, please pray. This moment is for you. I want to highlight the story of Hannah, especially for those mothers like women, yet not mothers. Hannah went into the presence of the Lord. She cried. Everybody else thought she was crazy. Amen. It was silent prayers, deep longing. God sees every tear, hears every prayer, and he remains faithful. And that's what happened in Hannah's life. Something standing against you in your marriage, don't believe the lie of the devil. In due time, the Lord will bless you. And today I release that word. By the time next year, those of you are married, longing to have children, may God bless you with a beautiful child. And you glorify God. Because this is a blessing of the Lord. Children are a heritage, blessing of the Lord, fruit you know, of the womb is a reward from God. I speak that over these married couples who are not yet. Do you know who uh Hannah brought forth? I said, do you know who? I said who? Did she have a clue about who Samuel will be? The greatest prophet was not in her womb. That womb was barren, and the mother went into the presence of God and prayed. God opened the womb that was shut. Impossible for the doctors to do anything. Experts are unable to do anything, but God has the power to erase that. And especially those women I'm talking to you, married yet to be. Samuels are yet to be born. The greatest prophets are yet to be born from your womb. Prepare for it, believe for it, because they're going to change the shape or the course of the history of the nations that they will be in. That's how God wants to prepare you. Hannah's desperate, aching love did not go unnoticed. God saw every tear. He counted every prayer. And in his time he answered. Ten years later? Come on, church, tell me when was in its time? Five years later. Nobody knows. I said, nobody knows when did it happen? Just by the next year she prayed. Miracle happened when she prayed at that very moment. At the next year, around that time, she was already holding a baby. Empty hands. With baby in her hand. A prophet. God has believed, prepared, and sent into this world. Psalm 139, verse 13 and 14. You knit me together in my mother's womb, I praise you because I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Amen. God knows your story. He has not forgotten you. This is for the yet-to-be mothers. God has not forgotten you. He is not indifferent to your longing. He is working, he is faithful. He has not closed the book on your story. Group number four.

The Door Open To God’s Love

SPEAKER_00

Those who need God's love. Those who need God's love. Today, through a mother, you are understanding God's love. If you have never experienced the love of God freely, fully, without condition, today is the day that love was made visible in Jesus Christ, born of a mother who came to bring to you home to the Father. The door is wide open.
