God's Faithfulness Carries Us When We Keep Showing Up
Have you ever wondered if your small victories are worth celebrating? When that Buzzsprout notification lit up my screen announcing 1,000 podcast downloads, I faced a choice: dismiss it as insignificant or recognize it as evidence of faithfulness.
A thousand downloads over 13 months breaks down to roughly 2.5 downloads per day. Some would scoff at these numbers, pointing to content creators who achieve this in a single day. But that's missing the point entirely. This milestone represents something far more valuable than metrics—it represents showing up consistently even when doubt whispered that no one was listening, fears suggested my voice didn't matter, and logic questioned the purpose of continuing.
The journey to 1,000 downloads taught me three transformative lessons that apply to any God-given assignment. First, obedience truly is the pathway to blessing. When God repeatedly prompted me to share my story through this medium, each episode became an act of trust. Second, consistency creates momentum even when results aren't immediately visible. There were weeks I allowed fear to win and skipped recording, but pushing through those barriers gradually built confidence and listeners. Third, authenticity resonates more powerfully than perfection. Being genuinely myself—vulnerabilities and all—created connection with listeners from places as unexpected as Nairobi, Kenya.
What dream has God planted in your heart that you've hesitated to pursue? Someone is waiting for your obedience. They're waiting for you to use your voice, start that business, launch that ministry, or take that first imperfect step. As Philippians 1:6 reminds us, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion." Trust His timing, embrace the journey, and celebrate every milestone along the way—because showing up consistently is a victory worth acknowledging.
Don't ever let anyone stop or hinder you from acknowledging every small win; don't wait for the big things to show appreciation for what God has done for you.

About Me: LEARN MORE HERE
I'm so excited and I just cannot hide it. I'm at a thousand downloads and I think I like it. Yes, hi, and welcome to our positioned for purpose conversations. I'm your host, colette Marie. Positioned for Purpose Conversations. I'm your host, colette Marie.
Speaker 1:Listen, I know, last week I said there would be a part two of our previous episode of Navigating Life as a Single Parent, but when I got that notification from Buzzsprout that I have a thousand downloads, I thought that it was something to celebrate, something to talk about and to share this journey with you. Now I know that a thousand downloads in a year, if you really want to break that down, it's maybe about 2.5 downloads per day. Right down, it's maybe about 2.5 downloads per day, right. And I know if you look at the statistics like that, you may be saying there really is nothing to celebrate. People are downloading a thousand downloads, are getting a thousand downloads per day. What's the big deal? And yet a few may still rejoice as well to say you still, you still are in the game, you still showed up anyway. And that's the reason why I want to celebrate today, because when we look at this dream that we have this thing that we want to do and things aren't panning out the way how we want it to. So we have this big idea If you're starting a business, you're expecting that your turnover is going to happen within a particular time. You work towards it, you're building the building, yet still you are expecting to see some level of increase.
Speaker 1:When we don't see the type of increase that we want here, what we do, we give up. We give up. Sometimes we're also looking at others who may be in the same field as well and we're saying, well, if they gave up, that means I can do it as well, because what's the sense? I'm putting in the work and I'm not seeing the increase that I want. And I know it may be a boring podcast, or you might feel. Why is this relevant? It's relevant because we need to be reminded that growth takes place over time. Growth takes place over time. You know the love song that says it's not an overnight thing. It's not an overnight thing. It's something that we have to work on, one step at a time, one day at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time, one episode at a time. One step at a time, one day at a time, one episode at a time, one listener at a time.
Speaker 1:Whatever it is that you are doing, whatever you have found God has placed in your hand for you to do, do it, keep going at it. Consistency is key, and I can tell you that right, because if you go back and look at my track record, there are days when I weeks, rather, when I missed an episode, when sometimes I just got in my own head and decided that this week I don't want to do that, because sometimes I felt like I had nothing to say, and sometimes I just wonder why am I doing it? Why keep on showing up? But that's what God called me to do is share your story. Do the podcast and I would have mentioned this, that I ran away from doing it because I just thought what will people say? People want to hear my voice. All the negatives that you know, coming from our own selves, and what the enemy will also bring as well, and so not doing it would be indirect disobedience to what God said. To do so, though, I would not, some weeks, not record an episode.
Speaker 1:Giving up is not an option for me. Giving up is not an option for me. Giving up is not an option for me. I am going to keep pushing this thing, keep sharing my story, keep building up others, keep encouraging others to use your voice to remind you that God is with you. God is with you. I can tell you this.
Speaker 1:When I started this journey in June last year, it was not easy to start it Right. It was not easy to start it, but I acted out of obedience, because I knew the Lord kept saying I've called you to use your voice, to share your story, because someone needs to hear where you have been and where God has always been. So, despite the fact that there are some weeks when I did not record an episode, god was always there. He was always encouraging to get the mic up, go back out. And this is separate from the times where I might not record because I had something happening that week or that day or whenever and I'm not able to do it. I'm talking about the times when I decided that I don't want to record. This week I'm going to wait, and for all different reasons, but as I kept slowly recording the episodes slowly, just keep on building it.
Speaker 1:When someone reached out or comments and to say that the whole podcast is blessing them, that means a whole lot to me that's an encouragement right. And no, we're not doing it to be encouraged, because God telling us to do it is encouragement enough. I know that. But we're still humans and we still want to hear someone says this made a difference in my life, and to even share their perspectives with us as well. So growth takes place over time and I'm not going to discount the fact that 13 months I've been on this journey.
Speaker 1:When I started I wasn't even sure, honestly, I think I counted myself out. I wasn't sure I would have lasted six months, much more, 13 months. But that's because God has been faithful. That's because God has been faithful and that's because you have also been listening. You have been sharing the episode. That makes a difference as well. So I can't take the credit for myself. I wish I could. The only credit I can take is the fact that I showed up, but the biggest credit of all would go to you because you've listened. You've listened, you've subscribed or followed, turned it on the platform that you listened on. You shared the podcast episodes.
Speaker 1:Can I tell you I have persons as far as the third highest group that listens to me are from nairobi, kenya. Yes, nairobi, kenya. The fact is that when god, nairobi, kenya, yes, nairobi Kenya. The fact is that when God asks us to use our voice, it's because there are people all around the world that needs to hear us. How has he called you to use your voice?
Speaker 1:Because when we talk about positioned for purpose, right is where we are, god using us right there. So sometimes we're waiting for the big promotion, the big. This God is going to move us to somewhere else before he can use us. No, he wants to use us right where we are. How faithful are we With the little that he has given us? Can we get more? Or are we the persons who want to remain with the two talents and say, well, lord, I know that you aren't. Oh, my God, it's hard even to say you said Lord. You're basically saying I know who you are. So it makes no sense Like the man with the talents. So are you the one who he trusted with the five or the one with the 10? Because the five went ahead and doubled it. So we have to know what will we do with what God has invested within us. And guys well, I shouldn't call you guys my friends.
Speaker 1:This is the driving force behind, even when I don't feel like doing it. It's that God has invested something within me that I need to do, and consistency and obedience is the key to getting it done. It's the key to showing up. It's the key to say Father, you have given this to me. You have said I should do this, and whatever this is for you, whatever the thing is that God has said, do Go ahead and do it, because sometimes we are waiting to have everything in place to start. We are waiting to have everything and we have our list. We have put up our dream board, our vision board. We have placed that and we have put everything line out, and we are waiting on everything to fall in place before we move, while the Lord is saying can you just take a step? Just take a step and watch me light your path. Take a step, just watch me light your path. Take a step, just like let me light your path and you can know when you're hesitating, because you still have this vision that is so glaring before you. You still have this fire within your belly and, even if it is just embers at this point in time, you have this thing and you know that the more you are checking off that list is, the more you're feeling that God is saying that you should just do this now and start where you are.
Speaker 1:At no point am I saying that you should not do preparatory work before. I'm not saying no to that do your preparatory work before. I'm not saying no to that Do your preparatory work. But when God says it's time to move, we must be willing to move at that point in time. So what is God calling you to do? What has he been saying to you? What has he been saying to you to say I just need you to take this step and watch me move, because if he has been talking to you about that, it means you are prepared to go where he is sending you. You are prepared to go where he is sending you, but you have not yet aligned yourself with what God is saying, have not yet aligned yourself with what God is saying.
Speaker 1:So, as I think about just this podcast and seeing that 1,000 downloads, and just looking at the statistics, and know how easy it would be to be discouraged and say, well, what's the reason for celebrating 1,000 episodes, can I tell you what's the real reason? It's because I did not give up and it would have been so easy to give up. When you look at what the statistics say about how many percentage of people do give up after their third episode and I'm four episodes well, three, when this is published away from my 50 episodes and if I hadn't missed some of those days, I would be closer to 60. But let's not go back there. It's a lesson going forward to say if you can make it for 13 months, you can make it for another 13 months. You can show up anyway. So that's what I'm celebrating.
Speaker 1:I'm celebrating the fact that you have been listening, that you've been sharing and that God has given me something to share. God has given me something to share. God has given me something to share and I'm thankful every day for the privilege that he has given to me to use my voice. Because, can I tell you, sometimes fear holds us back, and you know I'm the first one at the front of the line to put my hand up. Fear holds us back. Fear tells us that you can't do this, you're going to fail, and we forget that even if we fail. That's how we learn and that's how we move on to the next thing.
Speaker 1:I also know that others' opinions as well also plays a part in how we show up as well. And, of course, again, I'm at the front of the line because we think about what are people going to say? Does this episode even matter? Who wants to hear about your past and your life and all of that? And so we also allow that noise to crowd our heads as well, and that stops us in our track. So you start and you can't finish because we have our own doubts. We all have our own fears, we have our own thoughts of what others are saying and that holds us captive, that keeps us stuck right where we are and we will not move.
Speaker 1:If you are that person today, I'm encouraging you to get up again. I'm encouraging you to reach out to your heavenly father and repent and say Lord, I have given up. Because you lay out what the things are, I felt afraid. I felt as if you have not called me to say this. People's opinions about me matter and you list out all the things that they are. And we know that. Our father, he knows all about this already. He just wants us to be there and once we get there, once we pour this out to him, he gives us the strength, the grace, the courage to get up and start all over again, something that came to my thought today, a reminder that it is God who gives the increase. It is God who gives the increase. It's no one else but him. It's no one else but him that gives the increase.
Speaker 1:All we are expected to do is to show up and to do the work. Show up and do the work. Show up and do the work. Show up and do the work. Show up and do the work, because someone is waiting on you. Someone is waiting on you. Someone is waiting on you. Someone is waiting on you, just waiting on you to be in alignment, just waiting on you to start that business, to do that thing, whatever it is that you know God has been tugging on your heart to do. Someone is waiting on you to do it, and the longer you take to do it is the longer it will take for them to get into the next. Sometimes God will have to send someone else. So let's get in alignment with the assignment that God has given us and trust that he's going to work it out for our good. The thing that we think that no one is in need of or no one wants to hear about, god has a plan for it. But you have to trust him by taking that step. You have to trust him by just talking, by just moving.
Speaker 1:This morning I was having a conversation with a friend and he said something. He says he wants to move. God has been talking to him about something and then the Lord encountered him along the way, because sometimes we want to be validated by others and not everyone will believe in the dream that God has given us. Not everyone will understand and we allow their voices to be louder than what God is saying to us and that stops us from moving. And I can identify with that, because that's something that I struggled with, struggled with. I need validation and if someone doesn't see it that way, then I'm not going to move because immediately I'm going to doubt Did God really say? Did God really say so? At the end of the day, don't sit around waiting for validation. God has a way of sending what you need when you least expect it to confirm what he's saying for you. Don't be going to the wrong persons to ask do you think I should? This is what the lord is saying. I am not sure, because I did that with a podcast. Luckily for me, persons could see me here. That's all just, luckily for me, but the fact is, if God spoke it, and it's something that he's been saying to me, this is another way of me using my voice. I use it through my writing. I'm now using it through this medium because we have a story. We have a story and God wants us to use it for his glory and for his honor, but we have to trust him. We have to be willing to move.
Speaker 1:What are some of the lessons that I have learned in this journey? One obedience is key. It is obedience that brings the blessings. That's what the word of God says Obedience to move, obedience to be bold and to be courageous. Consistency is key. Keep showing up. Keep showing up Whether someone is buying your product or not, whether someone is listening to the podcast or your YouTube channel or not.
Speaker 1:Keep showing up and be authentically you, because there's a quote that says because everyone else is taken. So be you. Be you in your business, be you in your ministry, be you in the marketplace, be you wherever and do what God has called you to do. Don't be afraid of their faces. Don't be afraid of their faces. Trust, almighty God. Trust, almighty God, and can I tell you, as the scripture in my head trust him because he who has begun a good work in you, he's faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. So trust him, my brothers and sisters. Trust him because God is well able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above that which we could ever ask or even imagine, according to the power that works within us. Love and blessings. And you have been listening to, positioned for Purpose conversations with Colette Marie. See you next time.

Speaker 1:I pray for my friends today. You know what they're struggling with right now, almighty God. You know their desire, my Lord, to be used of you. You know the gifts that you have planted within them, lord God, and you know the struggles that they're facing within them, lord God, and you know the struggles that they're facing, some of the same struggles that I faced.
