Faith Over Distractions: The Journey to Episode 50
Fifty episodes! What a journey it's been—not always consistent, not always on schedule, but always guided by purpose and faith. This milestone episode brings heartfelt reflections on perseverance and the courage to keep showing up despite life's distractions.
When discouragement threatens to derail us, when "life is lifing" as they say, we often question whether our gifts still matter. The answer couldn't be clearer: they matter more than ever. God knew exactly what would be happening in this season before we did. The unexpected relationship endings, the closed doors, the disrupted plans—none of it surprised Him, and none of it diminishes the gifts He's placed within us. Others are waiting for your voice, your talent, your presence.
This episode serves as a gentle reminder that you can always start again. You've made mistakes, you've disappointed others, others have disappointed you—but these moments offer fresh opportunities to begin anew. God has given you a voice as a weapon for transformation, not harm. When you feel weighted down by life's burdens, surrender them to your heavenly Father who promises to turn mourning into dancing and give beauty for ashes. He is the God of second chances who knows exactly what He has placed inside you and how it needs to be birthed into the world.
Have you been feeling stuck or discouraged? Listen to this episode, then share it with someone who needs to be reminded that their setbacks are just setups for their comeback. And if there's a topic you'd like to hear discussed in future episodes, reach out—this community grows stronger with every voice.

About Me: LEARN MORE HERE
Hi, I'm Colette Marie and welcome back to another Position for Purpose Conversations. Sisters, friends, today marks my 50th podcast episode and I'm so excited I'm. I'm giving God thanks that he has allowed me to do 50 episodes. It has taken me one year to get here, but I will not be focused on that. I will be focused instead on the fact that I remained true. I remain true to doing this thing. I have not always been on, I have not been on weekly, as I committed to doing, but even so, the fact is that today is 50 episodes and I know I could not have done it without the inspiration of you, my listeners, whom you have sent me fan mail, you have messaged me directly, you have commented on the podcast episodes, and I'm so grateful for you and this journey that we are going on Today. I just want to share a brief word of encouragement to you.
Speaker 1:There's a lot that is happening as, as they say, life is lifing and you can be discouraged about what's happening. You can be discouraged based on what is happening in your personal life or what is happening in your community and the nations around us, and that feeling of discouragement, this feeling of God when and God why, and all of that can be so overwhelming at times and it can pause us in our track. It can cause us to doubt what God has given to us and say does it have any real meaning? Does it have any real value during this time? And can I tell you, yes, it does, because all that is happening now God knows he knew it would be happening, just as how he knows that what he has given to you, that gift that he has placed on the inside of you, he knows that others are waiting on you to just be and do. And I might be sounding like a broken record, and that's okay, because I can tell you that, because I've not been consistent, like coming on every week as I planned to. There are times that I feel discouraged. Discouraged because this episode should have been aired three weeks ago and so much has been happening and I decided that today I am going to do something. I cannot make this month end without airing this episode, because God has been faithful. Can I tell you he has been faithful.
Speaker 1:August has been a new season in my life. It's not just my birth month, but God has just so revealed so much to me in this month and I'm walking that out. So, while you may be feeling discouraged, things might not be going the way you want it to go, the doors might not be opening the way you want it to open. Relationships might have ended that you never saw coming. You didn't have any plan or idea that that would happen, but God knew. It doesn't mean it limits the hurt or the discouragement that you feel, but it means that God has prepared you for this, and it will take a time time for you to get back into your own rhythm of your own life and the things that you used to do and the things that you used to enjoy. But the key thing is that you have to get back. You've made mistakes, you've disappointed others and others have disappointed you, but it's an opportunity. It's an opportunity and a new season to start over, to start afresh.
Speaker 1:There are some lessons that I'm learning in this season is that my eyes have become wide open and in learning these lessons, I'm saying Lord, what do you want me to do with them? How do you want me to process what you are teaching me? How can I make a difference with what I am learning and what is the impact on my own life in moving forward? I don't have all the answers, but there's one thing that I'm committing to do is not to remain silent, because God has given me a voice and he says use your voice. Use your voice. That's the weapon that I have given you. It's a weapon that brings change, because sometimes we may think that weapon is only something that harms. It's something that brings change and transformation. The word of God is a weapon that we use against Sorry, not used that we use against the plans of the enemy, that we use against the distractions that come against us or the plans that the enemy wants to derail what God has for us. And so, whatever God has called you to do, wherever he has placed you, whatever he has equipped you to do, go ahead, my sisters, and do it. Don't be distracted by what is happening around you. Like we cannot sometimes, because can I tell you, I know that I am at times distracted by it, but there are other times when I say you can't be distracted by what's happening. That's what the enemy wants, because once you're distracted, you cannot do and cannot go where God has called you to do and to go, because, whether you want to believe it or not, there are others that are waiting on you, waiting on your voice, waiting on your gift, waiting on your talent, and you are sent to be the one to release them.
Speaker 1:As I think about the significance of 50 and what that means to me, it's a change, it's a change. It's a change, a change that we have to embrace. It's moving from one decade to the start of another right, and so the 50th means I'm going into something new, something exciting. I don't know what it is yet, but all I know I want to be able to amplify my voice to speak to women, to speak to you, my sister friend, to remind you that it doesn't matter what your story has said, it doesn't matter what your past has said, it doesn't even matter now what it's saying. I can tell you that, as a woman of God, as a woman of faith, that the word of God tells us, sisters, tells us that, for we know in Romans 8, 28, that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose All things. But we don't know that until we get to a point when we can truly look back and understand that when God said all things. But we don't know that until we get to a point when we can truly look back and understand that when God said all things, he literally meant all things.
Speaker 1:So where are you now? Where are you now? Where are you now? What's weighing you down? What's burdening you? What's causing the distraction and the discouragement and the distress? Can I tell you, give it to your heavenly father, make a commitment, tell him that, daddy, I'm distracted by what's happening around me. I feel this weight that is on me. I know that you've called me to do something, but I'm so weighed down by the cares of life I choose to unburden myself and place them on you, because your word tells me that my work is easy and my burden is life. And so I'm going to give them all over to you today. And can I tell you that, as you give them to God, it might feel as if nothing has changed, but trust and believe that something has. He's going to turn your mourning Into dancing. He's going to give you beautiful ashes, strength For fear, Gladness for mourning and peace for despair. So can I encourage you today? Take heart, be strengthened, because God is with you, whatever you have started and you have stopped along the way. Take this as a message to you today that you can get up and you can start again. God is with you Every time you can get up and you can start again. God is with you Every time you fall, decide to get back up again and to trust God. Take you on your journey.
Speaker 1:This podcast season has not been the one of the easiest. I've not always shown up on time, but I've committed to doing the work that God has given me, even if it's one episode per month, once every two weeks. I'm making this decision to continue showing up and I want to say thank you. Thank you for your words of encouragement, thank you for all that you have done to encourage me along this journey. I could not have done it without you. Thank you for sharing the podcast, for your fan mail. I appreciate you.
Speaker 1:May I say a prayer over you today, heavenly Father, I thank you for this sisterhood that you have given me, lord. I pray over every woman that is listening to this episode today. May you strengthen and undergird her and encourage her, lord, by your Holy Spirit. She may be struggling, almighty God, with the tasks that you have given her, lord, and she feels like giving up because she's saying what's the use? I have not always shown up. But, my God, you are the God of second chances. I pray, lord, god, just as you've given me so many second chances, that you'll give her second chances Because you know what you have placed on the inside of her. Because you know what you have placed on the inside of her and she needs to birth that almighty God, so that she can fulfill the plans and the purposes that you have for her life.
Speaker 1:Lord, I thank you for her. May you continue to light her path, god. May you continue to lighten her burdens. Father, I pray in the name of Jesus, and may your words be a lamp unto her feet and a light unto her path as she trusts you and yields herself over to you. I give you thanks and praise In Jesus' name. I pray with thanksgiving. Amen and amen.
