The call finally comes, but it arrives at the worst possible time. I’ve dreamed about going on a mission trip for years, imagining the people I’d meet and the chance to share God’s love, yet when the door actually opened I wasn’t jumping up and down. I was calculating, worrying, and quietly hoping the deadline would pass. If you’ve ever wanted to obey God but felt blocked by finances, responsibilities, or fear of hearing “no,” you’ll recognize yourself here.

I talk through the real tension between faith and pressure: competing priorities, urgent needs, and the nagging thought that saying yes to God will cost more than you can spare. Then I share the moment everything shifted, when I heard a simple word in my spirit: “If you take care of my business, I will take care of yours.” That reminder lines up with Romans 8:28 and Matthew 6:33, and it reframes trust as action, not wishful thinking.

You’ll also hear how God provided in a way that made it unmistakably His hand at work, including unexpected giving and matched support that moved the total from overwhelming to nearly complete. My prayer is that you take this as a restart, a do-over, and a push to take the first step toward the desire God placed in your heart.

If this encourages you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs courage, and leave a review so more women of faith can find it. What is the thing you’re excited about but afraid to fully trust God with?

Welcome And Purpose For Pain

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to Positioned for Purpose Conversations. I'm your host, Scarlett Marie. Yes. Our podcast is for women of faith who struggle to see God in their pain, in their hardship, and in their most challenging times. This is a gentle reminder that right where you are, yes, right there, God will use you in the mess, in your hardships and in your most challenging times, in your heartaches and in your pain. God has a plan for your story. Romans 8 28 states, and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are the called according to his purpose. Welcome. I've always thought about going on a mission trip. A lot of times I envision the places that I would go, the people I would meet, and just sharing God's love and the gospel with them as well. And this has been a thought going on and off in my mind for years. But honestly, I didn't think that an opportunity would ever present itself for me to go. But it did. And you would imagine that at this point in time I would have been jumping up and down, excited at the opportunity and

the possibility of going on a mission strip. But I was only mildly surprised. And you may be asking, why wasn't I more excited at the possibility? Because for me, the opportunity was presenting itself in a time that I thought was inconvenient for me. I wasn't in a place financially to take this on, and whatever finances would come my way, I had more urgent need for it than for a mission strip. But I did what any Christian who did. Reluctantly I applied. Totally, I waited until the last minute, the absolute last minute. Because one of two things I assume would happen. One, I would either miss the deadline, or two, there would be no space for me. And I don't want to say as luck would have it, as Christ would happen, neither of those things happen. Deep down though, I knew the Lord was going to say yes, and that he would provide. But I was selfish. I was thinking about me, I was thinking about my own needs, and not the heart of those persons whom God had called me to share His love and His concerns for. I wasn't thinking about those persons at all. So I made the application and was told it would be given prayerful consideration. It wasn't going to be an immediate yes. I told the Lord all my current needs and told him if this was truly his will, he would have to provide. Deep down, I wasn't really surprised because I felt it was a stirring that had been in my heart for so many years, and I felt this was the right time, this was the perfect opportunity for me to go. So after I read the email, I said, Lord, you see all that is happening, and this is another financial burden. It's going to be up to you to take care of this for me. I heard softly in my spirit, if you take care of my business, I will take care of yours. And that, my sisters, settled it. That settled it today. What longing do you have in your heart? What desires has God placed within your heart that you have been just afraid to either pray for or apply to or do whatever He's asking? Because there are so many other things that are competing for your priority. It may be a

financial need, it may be something else, and you're saying, But God, I don't have the time, God, I don't have the finances, I don't have all these things. You feel as if it would cost you more to add an extra layer to what you already have. Or in my case, divert finances for what I believe was more important. Let me encourage you with this. You know that, and I know that. But life is giving us reason to pause when God is saying, proceed. At the recording of this episode, all I have is 1% remaining out of a total fee. God did it, and he did it in such a way as to show me that it was He who provided, He who opened the door, He who worked on the hearts of people to give, and He is able to do so much more for you and me and our current needs, if that's what your need is. He will do the same for you. God has no favorites. So go ahead, pray, send in the application, make the acts,

The Provision That Felt Miraculous

do what he is leading you to do. Remind him it's all on him. You will be obedient to take the first step, to make the first move as you wait on his direction. So today, you get a restart, you get a do-over. The Lord wants you to trust him, he doesn't want you to lean to your own understanding. His word says, in all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will direct your path. And so something that in the initial is not that I'm not excited about it. I'm very excited. I right now all I can think of is going, and I know some of the challenges that I will be facing in traveling. But can I tell you I'm excited about it? I'm excited to see what God will do. But that excitement in in the beginning wasn't quite there because I was concerned about a lot of things. I was concerned about a lot of things, and I couldn't see the bigger picture. But until the Lord says, take care of my business and I'll take care of you, was when I allowed myself to start to feel the level of excitement that has been building ever since. Because just the way how he provided for me, I tell you, it's nothing short of a miracle. Nothing short of a miracle. An organization gave, and a couple said that they would match what the organization gave. And that took me over half of what I needed. Over half of what I needed. And that's the type of God we serve. So while my need was a financial, perhaps yours is as well, or perhaps it's time, perhaps it's something else. But whatever else it is that you need, our Heavenly Father is able to provide. But it requires something from us, it requires trust. It requires trust. I know it's difficult. I don't know what you are going through, but I know that the desire that you have, you don't want to be too excited about it. Because you're looking at the difficulties that you're going through. You want to do the thing, you want God to lead you to the place, you want him to do all of that. But it's always this thing. Is it his will? Or if you know that it is within his will, how can I do this when I have all these competing priorities? When I have all these needs here, what can I do? God says to give them to him and to trust him. He says, take care of his business and he'll take care of what concerns you. So whatever concerns you this morning, whatever it is that is hindering you from walking into that which God is calling you to do, may I encourage you and may I remind you that God is no man's debtor. What he says he will do, he will do. If he promises to provide for you, he will. If his promise is that when you take care of what concerns me, then I'll take care of you. Just as we said in Matthew. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else will be added unto you. That's what I'm leaving you with today. That's what I'm leaving you with today. So, Heavenly Father, I ask that you will give a word of comfort to your daughter. You know what she's believing you for, and you know what she's excited about. She doesn't want to give in fully to that excitement because a part of her feels that you will say yes, and a part of her feel that you will say no. And if when she's excited at the yes, daddy, she's also thinking about the responsibilities, and she's not sure how it will go. She may just be going through the emotion of applying or doing

Prayer And A Challenge To Respond

the thing, but not really expecting much. I pray that you will give her a word, just as you said to me, to take care of what concerns you, and you'll take care of what concerns me. I pray you'll give her a word as well, and I ask, Spirit of the Living God, that you will just minister as no one else can, and that you will have your way in her life. In your name, I pray with thanksgiving. Amen and amen. So, today, my hope is that you will trust God, watch Him work, and I'd love to hear from you. So, drop me a comment to say what's the thing that you're struggling with or excited about, but so afraid that God might say no, or you are concerned about all the other challenges that you are faced with, that you can't be excited about his yes, or the possibility of his yes. See you next time.
