Positioned for Purpose Conversations with Colette Marie
Positioned for Purpose Conversations is about where you are now and where God has always been.
It’s easy to focus on the pain, heartache, brokenness , loss and wonder where God is. Our podcast is to encourage you to see God in the midst of your story and be reminded, “And we know all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose “ Romans 8:28
As you listen to each episode ,I hope you pause, reflect on your journey, and see God's handprint and know there is purpose in the pain and if you allow Him to, God will produce His divine purpose in you.
Be empowered and encouraged to find out what you were created to do and do it.
I pray you will use your voice to share your story to impact other women to experience God's presence at each step of her walk.
Grief doesn’t wait until you feel ready. It shows up at the door, asks hard questions, and sometimes it even makes you wonder where God is in the middle of your pain. This is a tender, personal reflection on loss, shock, and the complicated emotions that come when someone you love is suddenly gone. We talk honestly about that moment when faith is real but your heart still breaks, and why missing them is not a spiritual failure.
We lean into Christian encouragement that doesn’t minimize suffering. I share the scriptures I’m holding close right now, including Psalm 34:18 on God being near to the brokenhearted, Matthew 5:4 on comfort for those who mourn, John 14:27 on peace the world can’t give, Romans 8:28 on God working for good, and Revelation 21:4 on the day when death and sorrow end. We also name something many believers experience but rarely say out loud: you can feel God’s peace and still cry, still ache, still have questions. That mixture does not disqualify you; it can be where God’s presence meets you most clearly.
Then the focus turns to a sobering truth: we can’t speed up death, nor slow it down. If you’ve been putting off making things right with God, this is a loving wake-up call to surrender your life to Jesus, or to come back if you’ve walked away. Listen, share this with someone who’s grieving, and if it helps you, subscribe and leave a review so more hearts can find comfort and hope.

What do you do when heartache and grief comes knocking at your door? Unprepared, suddenly, out of the blue? How do you cope? How do you manage? Is your faith still in the God in whom you believe? Are you still holding on that all things work together for good to them that love God and are the called according to his purpose? Or are you at a place where you're angry with God asking him, why could he, why did he? Today, if you're in a place where you're going through grief and heartache and pain, and you're wondering where God is, I want to encourage you to take a listen today as I share some scriptures with you and just a brief thought on knowing that God walks alongside that journey with you.
Today's episode is a hard episode for me, but I think it's one that I needed to do, not just for myself, but for you who may be going through a challenging and a difficult moment at this time. You may have lost a loved one, could be a spouse, could be a member of your immediate family, could be a friend, someone who's close to you. And if the person is a believer, you are rejoicing because they are with the Lord and you are assured of that, but it doesn't stop you from feeling sad, it doesn't stop you from feeling happy, it doesn't stop you from missing the person and actually wishing that they were here with you. Over the past couple weeks, I've had close friends who have lost loved ones, and I know it has been a trying time for them, even as I see them and I, you know, pray for them and give them a word of encouragement. I know it has not been easy for them. It is closer for me as well because I lost a very close friend and nothing would have prepared me for that. Nothing would have prepared me for hearing that news. And while I'm saddened and still in a period of just shock and disbelief, and wondering if I'm in a dream I would wake up shortly. One thing that I'm assured of is that she's in the presence of Almighty God. That gives me peace, that gives me comfort, that we are not mourning. My friends or fellow friends, her family members, her church community, we are not mourning like people without hope. We know that if we continue to live for the Lord, we have this hope of seeing her one day. So you may be navigating this whole transition period. You're at a loss if it's a family member, a friend, and that is always unexpected. Even the doctors will say to you, you have a person has a few days, a few weeks, a few months. That still does not prepare you for the day that you actually hear those dreaded words.
And so I want to read a few scriptures for you as a way of encouraging you in this difficult time. Psalm 34 18 says, The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Matthew 5 4 states, God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Revelation 21 4 states, He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. John 14 27 states, I'm leaving you with a gift, a peace of mind at heart, and the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give, so don't be troubled or afraid. Romans 8 28. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. And I want to share one last one with you. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, your rod and your staff. Protect and comfort me. Philippians 4 7. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
There's something that I know all along, but something that I've been acknowledging in this period. That while the Lord gave me peace which surpassed all human understanding, while he told me from the initial onset that all is well. Feeling sad. Or even the absence of questions. Even when I feel those things, I'm pulled back into his peace. I'm pulled back into that peace. And you may be at that place too. Like it may be hard for you to reconcile the peace you feel and the sadness and the crying that you experience in moments. Can I tell you something? That's okay. God understands that in those moments is where his presence takes over. It is where he causes his peace to flood our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. You may also, like another friend being over talking, you may also be looking at the fact that she's with your Heavenly Father. You may be looking at the way your friend may be, and you have this hope that comes from a relationship with Christ Jesus that you will see them one day soon. They're no longer here, they're no longer experiencing the pain and the hardship. But God knows. There's something that He has been speaking into my spirit, and honestly, that night I didn't feel like getting up and writing it. But I'll tell you something that I remembered, and it's my encouragement to you today. Because you
may also be someone who is listening who doesn't know the Lord as Savior. And I want to tell you that Jesus loves you and for you, He died. On I think it would be Monday night, something that He'd been saying to me is that we can't speed up death, nor can we slow it down. In these periods of time is an opportunity he's given every single one of us to make it right with him, to surrender our lives to him, or to resurrender our lives to him if we have walked away from him. In these moments, because we each have an assigned time, neither of us know when that day comes. And so we live our lives as if we will know what the time is, or what the day is, or what the hour is, and we believe in those moments we will be able to say, Lord, forgive me. But if three out of the four unexpected deaths, none of them had the time to even say, you know, if for those two that knew the Lord as Savior, they were ready, the other two didn't know the Lord as Savior, what would have happened? They would have thought they had time to say, Lord, forgive me. But they didn't. And so because we can't slow it down or we can't speed it up, what is required of us? It's required that in these moments we surrender our hearts of the Lord. Because after death there is absolutely no repentance in the grave. So if it didn't make it right now, we'll be able to make it right again. And I know you might have said it, and I have said it before. That when we were young, we've heard that the Lord is coming again, and we've not seen him. Even in this, it's a folly thinking. But even in this, I want to tell you it's an opportunity for us to prepare. His coming or his seemingly is for you. It's for me. It's to make sure that we accept him as Lord and Savior and that we're living our lives like we know we're living it for in an eternity spent with him. So please don't say from you your eyes were at your knees, or from you were born until now you hear that the Lord's coming and he's still not put in an appearance. The question that came to my spirit that night is if he put in his appearance today, where will you spend in an eternity? Will your eternity be spent with him, or would your eternity be spent with the enemy? Because even while I'm in this state and in this process of grieving, I still have a responsibility to tell people that Jesus loves them and for him, for they, for you, he died. And to say, be prepared. Be prepared. If I should pass, no. I want to know that my life was hidden in Christ and that I'm spending an eternity with him. I don't want my family and friends to know without the shadow of a doubt that I am with my Heavenly Father. And that's what I want for you as well. So you may be mourning the loss of a loved one. But today, what if that person was you? What would your family be thinking? Would they be mourning like people without hope? Or would they have a hope that if they continue to live their lives of Christ, they will see him one day.
And so I'm gonna pray over you today. That may the strength of Almighty God undergird you. May the peace of Almighty God guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus. And may you know today that Jesus died for you, that he loves you with an everlasting love. May you tap into that love today. May you be reminded today that he has placed eternity in your hearts. Where will you spend that eternity? The Spirit of the Living God, draw us closer to you. Strengthen your daughter, strengthen your son through this most difficult of time. I thank you, Lord, that in this moment that our hearts can go up to you and know that we are comforted within you. Have your way today, sweet Spirit of the Living God, I ask, and that your plans and your purposes for your life, our lives be accomplished. I honor you, and I give you thanks in Jesus' name. Amen and amen. Be blessed, my sister, my friend.
