Mike Lunney

With 31 successful years as a head band director in Texas, Mike’s bands were consistently recognized as superior, and his insights come straight from the podium, not a textbook. Today, Mike remains active as a clinician, mentor, and adjudicator, continuing to shape the next generation of music educators.

Derrick Killam

A lifelong supporter of school music programs across Texas since 1990. Derrick brings a unique industry perspective from decades in music retail, having served as a Repair Tech, Repair Shop Foreman, Education Specialist, and now as a key member of Tarpley Music, a NAMM Top 100 Dealer and industry leading Musical Instrument Retailer in the United States.

Michael Munoz

Michael Muñoz has dedicated 32 years to music education, directing school bands across Texas, and currently serves as Band Director in Denver City.

Michael earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology, followed by a B.A. in Music Education, from McMurry University. He went on to complete a Master of Music Education with an emphasis in Conducting at Texas Tech University.

Michael has built and sustained programs recognized for excellence, earning Sweepstakes Awards, State Marching Band appearances, as well as a State Marching Band Championship. His contributions to the field were recognized with the National Band Association Merit Award.

Michael is known for his commitment to finding creative, practical ways to help students excel – not only as musicians, but in every area of their lives. His three decades in the classroom reflect a long-held belief that music education is as much about character and personal growth as it is about performance.
