Have you ever felt pulled in a hundred directions, wondering if you're truly serving the purpose God placed in your heart? What if the missing piece in your God-led business isn’t a new platform or a bigger budget, but a clearer picture of the one person you’re called to serve?
Join us as we welcome Lisa Stoops, Christian entrepreneur and host of Kingdom Business & Mindset for Faith-Led Female Entrepreneurs, for a conversation about how specificity is more than a business strategy—it’s an act of stewardship before the Lord. Together, we explore how prayerful focus, authentic testimony, and practical strategy can help you turn calling into clients while staying rooted in Jesus, biblical encouragement, and Spirit-led obedience.
We begin by naming the tension many faith-led women feel: the desire to make a broad impact while also protecting space for God’s presence, peace, and guidance. Lisa shares the true centerpiece of effective marketing—deep audience understanding—and explains how your own story often reveals the people you are uniquely equipped to serve. From identifying pain points and using your audience’s exact language to shaping offers that walk someone from struggle to solution, this episode shows how clarity transforms your message, content, and business growth. Paula also brings in niche examples from the essential oils space, showing how tailored messaging can build trust, loyalty, and a brand identity that feels aligned, honest, and memorable.
You’ll hear why starting narrow can lead to greater traction and income, why “stay in your lane” can honor the body of Christ, and how simple spiritual rhythms like scripture, prayer, devotions, and even calming aromatherapy can help you process feelings, settle emotions, and hear God’s direction more clearly. We also touch on how essential oils can support a peaceful atmosphere for reflection and decision-making as you seek the Lord about your next step. Expect practical takeaways you can use right away: identify your ideal person, name their top needs and desires, and create an offer that serves them with care, clarity, and confidence. If you’re ready to move from vague to vivid and from striving to spirit-led strategy, this conversation will leave you encouraged and equipped.

Framing Faithful Entrepreneurship
Paula BehrensWelcome everyone. Today we will embark on a meaningful journey to explore how you can embrace and grow your business without compromising your faith in Jesus. In the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship, it's important to stay grounded in our beliefs and ensure that our faith is the foundation upon which we build our ventures, right? We are honored to have a special guest today, someone who perfectly embodies the harmony between a thriving business and steadfast faith. Lisa Stoops is a remarkable Christian entrepreneur whose inspiring journey and unwavering commitment to Jesus have been her beacon of light in the business world. Her story, insights, and experiences will enlighten and encourage us to pursue our business goals while staying true to our faith. Years ago, I found myself in a full-blown debate with God about my calling, trying to negotiate my way out of it, as if that ever works. Eventually, after what felt like a series of divine eye rolls, I conceded and ended up at Houston Christian University to begin my undergrad degree, but not before hyperventilating during my entrance review, a meeting overseen by the professor who would later become my greatest supporter. It seemed like a scene out of a sitcom, but God had already written the punchline. I was exactly where I needed to be. In my personal faith walk, I've wrestled with the challenge of carving out consistent time for God. Some days the line blurred between hearing his voice and my own thoughts echoing back at me. But through life's ups and downs, I've discovered an amazing truth. Spiritual disciplines paired with the God-given gift of natural aromas or what we call essential oils today can create a profound space for clarity and connection. They help us slow down and tune in to God's quiet whispers. Let's talk about what this podcast has to offer. Each week, we delve into meaningful scripture, highlighting memory verses enriched with Greek word studies. If your spirit needs refreshing, you can start with daily devotionals that accompany your morning prayer, and you'll find that many of our episodes are infused with essential oil tips to enhance your focus so you can hear God's voice more clearly as you seek to clarify your unique calling. Hey friend, I know what it's like to feel far from God, even when you're doing all the right things. You're showing up, you're praying, you're reading your Bible, but inside something feels disconnected. You wonder if you're doing enough, if God is even listening. You feel a little ashamed that your quiet time isn't what it used to be or what you hoped it would be. I want you to know you're not alone and you're not failing. God isn't asking for your perfection. He's just asking for your presence. That's what our coaching call is all about, not pressure, not performance, just learning to lean into God's presence. And as a special touch, you'll receive a free essential oil sampler ahead of time so you can experience how these simple tools can enhance our time together, creating an environment where peace and clarity can flourish. Let me walk with you into a slower spirit-led rhythm that will help you reconnect with the one who's been waiting to refresh your soul all along. Say yes to peace, say yes to presence. Book your Aroma of Christ coaching hour now at PaulaBehrens.com/coaching. That's Paula Behrens B E H R E N S .com/coaching (no spaces). All right, it's time to get started. Grab your Bible, dust off your journal, and cozy up to your favorite beverage. And let's dive in. Please join me in welcoming Lisa Stoops. Let's see those hearts and emojis flying. Take it away, Lisa.
The Core Of Marketing: Know Your Audience
Let Your Story Define Your Niche
Gifts, The Body Of Christ, And “Stay In Your Lane”
Dig In Deep About Who You're Helping
Linda StoopsI want to talk about the number one thing that is the most important aspect of marketing. And that is to understand your target audience. This is the number one thing to focus on if you are not seeing results in your business. Everything in your business is going to revolve around your target audience. So you first have to identify your target audience, and then you need to understand and know them inside and out. Why is this so important? Because knowing your audience allows you to create marketing messages that speak directly to them. It allows you to create content and offers that resonate with their needs, their desires, their pain points, their goals. It allows you to capture their attention and get them to take action. It allows you to create things that will attract the right people to you. I mean, it is the thing. Your messaging comes from knowing your target audience, and all of that works together to attract the right people to you, to help you build long-lasting relationships with your audience, to create a bond with your audience. It's what allows you to engage with them in a very meaningful way. And so, in order to have the right message, you have to have and know and identify your target audience, like really, really know them. So if you don't know your target audience yet, if you're unsure and you're going through either pivoting in your business or you're just unsure of like who you should really target, I want you to think about this. Identifying your target audience can be as simple as reflecting on what the Lord has delivered you from in your life. It can be as simple as your target audience can be you, how you were a few years ago. And this is how and why you can speak with authority about the pain points, the struggles, and why you understand where they want to go and you can share with them how you overcame the things that you overcame and what the Lord did for you, right? So the more specific you are, the better it is when it comes to your target audience. The more specific you are in your messaging is going to attract that type of person that you want in your life. So if you know the type of person that you are looking to attract, that is the key. You need to know that person. And that person makes up the whole target audience. So if you don't know who your target audience is, if you don't know who that one person is that you really think about when you're when you're doing all your business things and when you're writing content or you're creating offers or whatever, I want you to really reflect on what the Lord has delivered you from. I want you to reflect on the on the gifts he has given you. I want you to think about the demographic of people that you feel excited about helping and serving because God put all those desires in you. So we need to work from that place, that place of where the things that we get excited about or more passionate about. Because here's the thing: we are a member of the body of Christ, right? We are the members, one of another. Each one of us has special gifts and desires and things that God put in us so that we all function together as one body, but we all do individual things. So if you're a toe, be the toe. If you're an arm, be an arm. If you're the eye, be the eye, but the eye can't be without the arm and the arm can't be without the leg. And, you know, so we all we all work together as a big engine, but we all have individual interests and gifts and things that God and desires and things that God has put into us that where we can benefit other people. So I'm gonna attract the type of people I'm gonna attract. I'm going to be for certain people. Other people are not gonna resonate with me, but they'll resonate with you and other people you can reach other people that I can't reach and things like that. So that is the whole part of why this is so important and why it ties into what God has done in your life and through you, and you know, just getting all into it like that, you can then begin to see, like, oh, God has been equipping me and building me and showing me this all along, but I just haven't been paying attention. Or um, oh, or and this is also how you can stand out, and this is also how you can um get that momentum because you are staying in your lane. My husband always says, stay in your lane. And it really does come down to you being that leg or you being the toe or you, whatever it is, you just are sharpening the skills and the things that God has given you, and you're just making those better. You're not trying to go all over here and do all these things. You're staying in your lane for what God has put into your heart and put into in and given you the desires, you know, because once you're born again, you have the Holy Spirit in you and He's leading and guiding you, and He's He's bringing to your attention these things, even through me, like right now. Maybe this is speaking to you about how you really gotta dig in deep about who you're helping in business because it all relates to everything that you've done in your life, and you know, your what you get passionate about, what you get, you know, excited about, and what you get excited about and what you're passionate about might not be what someone else is passionate about or excited about. So, anyway, it's really important to like really know that for yourself and stay there and cultivate that. So that's how you can niche down and really speak to your ideal target audience. Okay. So I hope that all that made sense. It was just kind of coming out. But and I get that niching down can feel real challenging sometimes, especially for Christian entrepreneurs who feel a call to like reach a wide audience. However, being very specific, especially in the beginning of your business, will lead to more effective and impactful marketing, and that will result in more income and impact. And you can always broaden later. But in order to get traction in your business, because we are talking about business here, it's not just ministry, it's business too. And you have you got to get traction in your business, otherwise, you won't be making any sales and you won't be in business, right? So this is very important to get that initial traction is to niche down like this. So pray for guidance today and ask God for clarity on identifying and/or understanding more about your ideal target audience. Just seek God today. Who is that person that you're really trying to reach? Understand their pain points, understand where they want to go, understand their desires, and then you will be able to create offers around that, and your business will take off. It's just a matter of getting it out there and in front of the right people.
What is a Niche Market?
Personalizing Your Message
Closing Thoughts and Next Steps
Paula BehrensExactly. Thank you, Lisa. That was so helpful. Isn't she great? Okay, so you can find Lisa's podcast. It's called Kingdom Business and Mindset for Faith-led Female Entrepreneurs on Apple Podcast. You can search for her name there or look for the link in the show notes. Okay, so building on what we've heard so far, let me add this. In a world of business, understanding your niche market is crucial. Knowing who your ideal customer is can make all the difference in turning enthusiasm into success. Okay, so a niche market refers to a specific, well-defined segment of the broader market. Instead of trying to appeal to everyone, I mean, like everyone out there, you focus on a certain group of people with unique needs, preferences, and interests. For example, within the larger market of essential oil users, you might find niches such as wellness advocates, health conscious parents, natural beauty enthusiasts, fitness and athletic communities, and meditation practitioners. That's sort of the group that I fall into. But my group may be different than your group. And that's a good thing. So identifying and understanding these segments allows you to tailor your products, messaging, and marketing efforts to precisely meet your niche market. And as Lisa pointed out, when you know who your niche market is, you can create things that speak directly to your customers' interests and to their pain points. Personalized content is far more effective than generic messaging, making your audience feel understood and valued. Well, because they are. For example, a campaign focusing on essential oils for stress release will resonate more with mindfulness practitioners like me than a general promotional ad would. Understanding your niche market allows you to build deeper connections with your people. When you demonstrate that you get them, trust and loyalty naturally follows. This is why it's so important to narrow down your niche. Find the things that excite you and stick to just a handful of favorites. Understanding and catering to your niche market is not just a strategy, it's a commitment to better serve your customers. Focusing on a specific market can enhance your customer relationships, optimize your resources, and build a distinctive brand identity for yourself. Okay, as we wrap up, remember that understanding your audience is so very important. So let's try to carry this wisdom forward, continually listening and adapting to our community, ensuring that we elevate the lives of those we touch, all for the glory of God. Thank you for tuning in today. And remember, just like setting biblical boundaries, it's okay to say no to things that don't serve you well, like that third piece of cake at the church potluck.
