Neela Saldanha is a behavioral scientist, working in global health and development. She is currently an advisor at the Livelihood Impact Fund and recently served as the Executive Director at the Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE). Before Yale, she founded the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change at Ashoka University in India, funded by the Gates Foundation. 

Prior to her career in global development, Neela spent 15+ years in the private sector leading teams in brands, sales, consumer insights and strategy at Nestle, Unilever, PepsiCo and Accenture, first in India and then the US in a global role.  

Neela has been mentioned in Forbes magazine as “Ten Behavioral Scientists You Should Know.” Her writing has appeared in Harvard Business Review, Nature Human Behavior and Behavioral Scientist, among others. Her book “Marketplace Dignity” co-authored with Cait Lamberton and Tom Wein was published by Penn Press in 2023.
