I have been sitting here for four and a half hours four hours and 36 minutes and for the first time in starting stand-up history , I have nothing to say . I just got nothing . I have nothing to say , I just got nothing . And I've been battling and I finally come to the conclusion that the reason I have nothing is because I'm stalled

Making a Solemn Vow

. I'm stalled out , I haven't been on the mic and I need to get back up there , and I can't tell you how overwhelmingly challenging that feels to me . And so why not use you , the loyal listener , to be my accountability partner ? Which means that I am making a solemn vow to you right now that in the next two weeks , I'm getting back on the mic , I'm going back and performing new material , new exciting material , material that , if you have listened to every episode , you will recognize as being developed and birthed here on Starting Stand Up .

want to do it . I don't know whether it's the vernal equinox . No , it's not the autumnal equinox , forgiveness please . We've had the autumnal equinox . The weather's changing . I want to curl up and read all day , every day . I don't want to perform . I don't want to drive to Biddeford for five minutes on stage , but I know I got to get back on the horse .

This is just classic resistance , and so I take solemn vows seriously . They're solemn . This is an extremely solemn vow . You hear me , you understand . All right , good , I hope you have an insanely good week . I'm going to go to bed . I can feel it , this change of foot , something new is being birthed . I can feel it , and so thank you for being here for me . Thank you for holding me accountable to my solemn vows . Please enjoy fall . I know , men , it's a very exciting time . We can start to layer up , and it's quite obvious to the opposite sex that men look a lot better with a nice layered sweater , maybe a textured sweater underneath a coat . Stop looking at our legs wearing pants . Please enjoy the fall and your layered looks . May they lead to all sorts of venery . Thank you .
