And no matter where you are on that spectrum,"},{"startTime":324.706,"endTime":328.538,"body":"there is information that's really valuable to you. And they split it up nicely so"},{"startTime":328.554,"endTime":331.69,"body":"that you always know kind of what room to grow in. I think my biggest"},{"startTime":331.73,"endTime":335.266,"body":"takeaway from inside the room is something Ryan"},{"startTime":335.298,"endTime":338.962,"body":"calls playbooks. And the thing that I think makes a big difference for me is"},{"startTime":338.986,"endTime":342.386,"body":"it's not just a. They're not saying, hey, here's a system, put it in, and"},{"startTime":342.418,"endTime":345.874,"body":"we're adding bureaucracy. They use the playbooks. And he talks very"},{"startTime":345.922,"endTime":349.478,"body":"honestly about, you know, do this by hand the first time, draw it on paper."},{"startTime":349.614,"endTime":353.414,"body":"And don't be stupidly obsessed with getting every detail right."},{"startTime":353.462,"endTime":356.918,"body":"Get 80 20. You know, you don't want to go back and have your team"},{"startTime":356.974,"endTime":360.518,"body":"document everything. You want to go back and have your team identify"},{"startTime":360.574,"endTime":364.318,"body":"the major sort of drivers in your business. And they break it up"},{"startTime":364.334,"endTime":367.43,"body":"into the different types of drivers from your, you know, the engine that you use"},{"startTime":367.47,"endTime":371.206,"body":"to grow your client base to your actual operations, to your"},{"startTime":371.238,"endTime":374.41,"body":"marketing, to your sales, to your finance"},{"startTime":375.2,"endTime":378.96,"body":"your finances, and identify the main drivers. If I ask Francis, what you do in marketing,"},{"startTime":382.648,"endTime":386.392,"body":"what are the five main drivers for what we do? That would be five"},{"startTime":386.456,"endTime":389.82,"body":"playbooks, maybe. One of them is podcast"},{"startTime":390.2,"endTime":394.008,"body":"creation and editing. One of them is social media marketing. One of"},{"startTime":394.024,"endTime":397.688,"body":"them is email list nurture. One of them is, I don't know,"},{"startTime":397.784,"endTime":401.608,"body":"what else, advertising. Then put your playbook together"},{"startTime":401.664,"endTime":405.408,"body":"from that. The idea of the Playbook is not to document every detail. The idea"},{"startTime":405.424,"endTime":409.156,"body":"of the playbook is to be able to articulate to, first of all, your"},{"startTime":409.188,"endTime":412.844,"body":"team internally, when you're still owner, operator, or CEO,"},{"startTime":412.972,"endTime":416.628,"body":"but then to have something you can automatically take and translate into"},{"startTime":416.684,"endTime":420.356,"body":"process documents when you're looking to exit your business or merge your"},{"startTime":420.388,"endTime":423.588,"body":"business, or in a lot of cases, what I learned outside of the room and"},{"startTime":423.604,"endTime":427.132,"body":"loved it, a lot of franchisors. So we may choose to franchise our"},{"startTime":427.156,"endTime":430.596,"body":"business and boom, you've got your structure already set up. So"},{"startTime":430.748,"endTime":434.52,"body":"every tool that they provide has a reason, and they don't"},{"startTime":434.56,"endTime":438.312,"body":"have you do anything just for the sake of doing something or for saying you've"},{"startTime":438.336,"endTime":442.128,"body":"done the process. And that's such a hard balance because"},{"startTime":442.304,"endTime":445.208,"body":"a lot of these big companies, they'll give you a process and they drop it"},{"startTime":445.224,"endTime":448.288,"body":"on you. EOS is an example. It's a great process. Don't get me wrong, I"},{"startTime":448.304,"endTime":452.032,"body":"love EOS, but EOS has a system that you follow"},{"startTime":452.096,"endTime":455.824,"body":"from start to finish and it just, that's what it is."},{"startTime":455.872,"endTime":459.416,"body":"And you follow the details. And a lot of times, quite honestly, and I've seen"},{"startTime":459.448,"endTime":462.854,"body":"some EOS implementations done really well and I've seen some done"},{"startTime":462.992,"endTime":466.682,"body":"very poorly. It becomes a checklist. It becomes a thing people"},{"startTime":466.746,"endTime":470.298,"body":"have to do. It becomes a, oh God, it's that time again."},{"startTime":470.474,"endTime":474.234,"body":"And what this allows you to do is create the culture and"},{"startTime":474.242,"endTime":478.058,"body":"the environment and the workflow that makes everybody go, okay, yeah, I know"},{"startTime":478.074,"endTime":481.778,"body":"I've got a playbook that makes sense. And then if you choose to do something"},{"startTime":481.834,"endTime":485.098,"body":"like an EOS or whatever system you might use for"},{"startTime":485.154,"endTime":488.682,"body":"communicating goals and managing your, your performance"},{"startTime":488.786,"endTime":492.386,"body":"reviews and that sort of thing, you're only working from stuff that"},{"startTime":492.498,"endTime":496.282,"body":"really needs to be done. Yeah. And that's, to me, what makes scalable"},{"startTime":496.386,"endTime":500.018,"body":"the place to go for this sort of an event."},{"startTime":500.114,"endTime":503.946,"body":"Yeah. So outside the room, what is sort of the biggest thing"},{"startTime":503.978,"endTime":507.362,"body":"you heard or what the biggest takeaway you're going to take from the conference, from"},{"startTime":507.386,"endTime":510.73,"body":"the people you talk to kind of outside the room. Yeah, it was, you know,"},{"startTime":510.77,"endTime":514.35,"body":"I met a lot of awesome people, and one of the people"},{"startTime":514.85,"endTime":518.642,"body":"specifically today that we both connected with, I think his name was Aaron,"},{"startTime":518.706,"endTime":522.182,"body":"he stopped by and. Heidman. Yeah. And he just said, shout out. Aaron grabbed"},{"startTime":522.346,"endTime":526.142,"body":"me to talk about my tattoos because he had spent"},{"startTime":526.166,"endTime":529.822,"body":"some time in Asia and he would ask me the meaning behind some of these."},{"startTime":530.006,"endTime":533.462,"body":"But then we dove into the conversation a little bit more and he's done so"},{"startTime":533.486,"endTime":537.254,"body":"many different businesses, he's had so many different experiences, and it was"},{"startTime":537.262,"endTime":540.862,"body":"just, I think, really cool to connect with him, get some of his insights, specifically"},{"startTime":540.966,"endTime":544.758,"body":"on how he approaches business ownership, because that's what he does. He"},{"startTime":544.774,"endTime":547.822,"body":"buys and sells businesses, he helps people acquire businesses"},{"startTime":548.006,"endTime":551.728,"body":"and I feel like that has been one of the kind of highlights"},{"startTime":551.744,"endTime":555.296,"body":"for me. And then also just connecting with some other videographers out here"},{"startTime":555.448,"endTime":558.752,"body":"and hearing how people are approaching and how they see the"},{"startTime":558.776,"endTime":562.496,"body":"industry progressing throughout the next couple of years as well. Both"},{"startTime":562.528,"endTime":566.344,"body":"the actual AV and then the editing and production as well, and then. Leveraging AI"},{"startTime":566.392,"endTime":570.2,"body":"in this type of process as well. There's so many creatives"},{"startTime":570.24,"endTime":572.816,"body":"out here, and just being able to connect them and pick their brains on some"},{"startTime":572.848,"endTime":575.898,"body":"stuff has really been the standout for me. How about for you? For me, I"},{"startTime":575.914,"endTime":579.682,"body":"think. No, I mean, not Noah. Aaron was a great. Noah's great, too,"},{"startTime":579.706,"endTime":583.41,"body":"though. Yeah, Noah's great, too. Aaron was really fascinating to talk to, and"},{"startTime":583.49,"endTime":586.378,"body":"that points out to me what was really neat is all the different industries that"},{"startTime":586.394,"endTime":589.962,"body":"are here. Yeah. And you mentioned this, but, I mean, everything from. I realized that"},{"startTime":589.986,"endTime":593.546,"body":"there's a massively brilliant brokerage business between"},{"startTime":593.658,"endTime":597.082,"body":"junkyards and smelting or melting plants."},{"startTime":597.146,"endTime":600.898,"body":"Yeah. And I. There are actually three different people I talked to here"},{"startTime":600.954,"endTime":604.742,"body":"who are in that junk reinival imagining"},{"startTime":604.806,"endTime":608.558,"body":"business. And for me, that's fun, because, you know, of course, the minute I hear"},{"startTime":608.574,"endTime":612.022,"body":"a business, I'm thinking about the financial model that supports it. And got to talk"},{"startTime":612.046,"endTime":614.558,"body":"to a couple of these people. We're going to have follow up calls with two"},{"startTime":614.574,"endTime":618.166,"body":"of them, because they're like, oh, wow. We can really start to"},{"startTime":618.198,"endTime":621.974,"body":"see some of the profitability by types of car part"},{"startTime":622.022,"endTime":625.742,"body":"that we're changing. And there are three or four things that come out of"},{"startTime":625.886,"endTime":629.542,"body":"that process that I never knew about, which was really interesting. And then I"},{"startTime":629.566,"endTime":633.254,"body":"met a couple of bakery owners. I met some guy who's just"},{"startTime":633.302,"endTime":636.734,"body":"doing roll up or just doing company acquisitions. He's not really"},{"startTime":636.782,"endTime":639.79,"body":"focused on any particular industry. I thought that was"},{"startTime":639.83,"endTime":643.454,"body":"interesting. A couple of franchisors. Very neat"},{"startTime":643.502,"endTime":647.158,"body":"to talk to the franchisors, because I think a point, when you get to scale"},{"startTime":647.214,"endTime":651.006,"body":"and you have a business that can be replicated, that becomes a big"},{"startTime":651.038,"endTime":654.862,"body":"question. Do I just go open four more of these, or do I"},{"startTime":654.886,"endTime":658.414,"body":"franchise it? And they address all that here really, really well, too."},{"startTime":658.462,"endTime":662.294,"body":"So took that away. And then I had a great time on stage talking"},{"startTime":662.342,"endTime":665.902,"body":"about kind of the founder to exit book process, which is, you know, you do"},{"startTime":665.926,"endTime":669.582,"body":"not want to scale into bankruptcy. And here are five or six things you can"},{"startTime":669.606,"endTime":673.398,"body":"take away with you to, you know, go implement tomorrow. If"},{"startTime":673.414,"endTime":676.686,"body":"you're not communicating well with your bookkeeper, if you don't know what kind of accountant"},{"startTime":676.718,"endTime":680.038,"body":"to get, if you don't have a forecast for cash flow yeah. And so we"},{"startTime":680.054,"endTime":683.78,"body":"were able to hand them a lot of tools to really execute on that"},{"startTime":683.82,"endTime":687.5,"body":"stuff. I think a lot of people got a lot of meaningful insights, you know,"},{"startTime":687.54,"endTime":691.228,"body":"from your keynote today. They sure said, so. Somebody must have been paying them"},{"startTime":691.244,"endTime":695.052,"body":"well. Stop by and just, you know, one of the things that we had"},{"startTime":695.076,"endTime":698.78,"body":"talked about yesterday, I think, was what stands out when you feel like you"},{"startTime":698.82,"endTime":702.524,"body":"have, when you've had a good keynote on stage, people"},{"startTime":702.572,"endTime":706.412,"body":"coming back and mentioning things specifically to you. Yeah, I know when you came off"},{"startTime":706.436,"endTime":708.964,"body":"stage, you had mentioned to me, oh, I feel like that was kind of one"},{"startTime":708.972,"endTime":712.518,"body":"of the lower, lower energy ones that I've done so far. And"},{"startTime":712.534,"endTime":715.926,"body":"I didn't feel that. I felt like you went up there and killed it,"},{"startTime":716.118,"endTime":719.814,"body":"but I might be a little bit biased. Well, we can talk imposter syndrome and"},{"startTime":719.902,"endTime":723.67,"body":"self criticism and all that, because it is true. You"},{"startTime":723.71,"endTime":727.414,"body":"have what you think is one of your best moments, and then you want everything"},{"startTime":727.502,"endTime":731.35,"body":"to live up to that. And in truth, as it turns"},{"startTime":731.39,"endTime":734.974,"body":"out, as I learned from talking to people after, it was exactly the perfect speech"},{"startTime":735.102,"endTime":738.902,"body":"for this crowd. So I give myself now a nine"},{"startTime":739.006,"endTime":742.702,"body":"for identifying what they needed and hitting the nail on the head. What"},{"startTime":742.726,"endTime":746.326,"body":"I faulted myself for when I first came off the stage was, wow, I wasn't"},{"startTime":746.358,"endTime":750.126,"body":"really interactive. I wasn't as entertaining as I like to normally"},{"startTime":750.158,"endTime":753.846,"body":"be. But you were telling me the room was engaged. And that's"},{"startTime":753.878,"endTime":757.366,"body":"the job. The job is to give them something that they can walk away with"},{"startTime":757.398,"endTime":760.966,"body":"and not forget about tomorrow, like, literally go do."},{"startTime":761.158,"endTime":764.55,"body":"And when I revisited it for those"},{"startTime":764.93,"endTime":768.778,"body":"sort of characteristics, I was pretty happy with it, especially since we"},{"startTime":768.794,"endTime":772.13,"body":"got so much feedback on stuff. People are going to actually go do and change,"},{"startTime":772.17,"endTime":775.906,"body":"and they came to ask more specific questions, and there were so. Many specifics"},{"startTime":775.978,"endTime":779.666,"body":"that people were taking away, and there was. They translated it well. Yeah, so many"},{"startTime":779.698,"endTime":783.43,"body":"people came by. I can't even count on my hands how many people stopped by"},{"startTime":783.81,"endTime":787.546,"body":"to specifically follow up with key parts of your keynote"},{"startTime":787.578,"endTime":790.538,"body":"that you had talked about, because it resonated with them so much. That's fun. That's"},{"startTime":790.554,"endTime":794.322,"body":"fun. So we're going to share parts of that, certainly with everybody here. We"},{"startTime":794.346,"endTime":797.63,"body":"have the keynote of you getting the full film of it, and there's some really"},{"startTime":797.67,"endTime":800.902,"body":"good pointers in there that are in the book that I articulated a little bit"},{"startTime":800.926,"endTime":804.678,"body":"more about and kind of how to translate that into action"},{"startTime":804.854,"endTime":808.454,"body":"right away. The biggest thing, I think, for all of these guys that really"},{"startTime":808.502,"endTime":811.23,"body":"resonated with them is we have all these great dreams and we're going to scale."},{"startTime":811.27,"endTime":813.55,"body":"And we're going to do this and we're going to get organized and we're going"},{"startTime":813.55,"endTime":817.366,"body":"to fix all these things, like at the root. But the"},{"startTime":817.398,"endTime":821.118,"body":"reality is we're all running 1000 miles an hour, and"},{"startTime":821.174,"endTime":824.72,"body":"while we're flying, while we're building that plane, we're still"},{"startTime":824.76,"endTime":828.6,"body":"flying it. So we've got to have triage. So what I did was a little"},{"startTime":828.64,"endTime":831.976,"body":"segment on the Band aid for cash flow issues. Is"},{"startTime":832.008,"endTime":835.808,"body":"this while you're building your brilliant strategy, here are the five things you can do"},{"startTime":835.824,"endTime":839.432,"body":"today to fix that stinking cash problem.
