Faith In An Unlikely Place | Matt Dale
God frequently chooses to work through people the world might overlook or dismiss, revealing His grace and power in unexpected ways. The story of Rahab in Joshua 2 powerfully illustrates this truth. As a Canaanite prostitute, Rahab represented everything society would have rejected - yet God saw beyond her past to the faith in her heart. When Israelite spies came to Jericho, Rahab hid them and declared her belief in Israel's God, despite never having witnessed His miracles firsthand. Her faith was based solely on stories she had heard, yet it was strong enough to prompt her to risk everything.Throughout scripture, we see this pattern repeated with figures like Noah, Abraham, Moses' parents, and many others - ordinary people taking extraordinary steps of faith. John Newton's transformation from slave trader to Christian minister who wrote 'Amazing Grace' further demonstrates God's power to redeem and use the unlikely. These examples remind us that God doesn't wait for perfection before using us; He responds to our faith. Even small acts of obedience - showing kindness, serving others, or standing for truth - can become moments God uses to change lives. No matter our past or present circumstances, God can redeem our stories and use us for His purposes if we're willing to take steps of faith.
Our mission is to multiply God’s Kingdom through being and making disciples everywhere.
Be. Make. Multiply.
