Spiritual growth is one of the most misunderstood aspects of the Christian life. Many believers experience genuine salvation but then find themselves spiritually stagnant, never progressing beyond their initial decision to follow Christ. This isn't what God intended—He calls us to grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, not just to remain static in our faith.
The problem often lies in our approach to growth. We tend to think spiritual maturity comes through trying harder, learning more Bible facts, or checking off spiritual activities. However, true growth is about transformation, not information. It's about knowing Jesus more personally and becoming more like Him through a process called sanctification. This happens not through our own strength and effort, but through abiding—staying connected to Christ as a branch remains connected to a vine.
We must also recognize that we're in a spiritual battle. Satan cannot prevent believers from going to heaven, but he works tirelessly to stall our growth through distractions, discouragement, and deception. The key to overcoming these obstacles is understanding that growth happens the same way salvation does—by grace through faith, not by works. When we abide in Christ through consistent time in His Word, prayer, fellowship with believers, and dependence on His strength, we naturally bear fruit and become more like Him. Growing disciples are marked by their time with Jesus, visible transformation, gospel clarity, consistent spiritual rhythms, and genuine concern for others' spiritual condition.
Our mission is to multiply God’s Kingdom through being and making disciples everywhere.
Be. Make. Multiply.
