Life is heavy, and most of us spend enormous energy trying to hold everything together. But Colossians 1 reminds us that Jesus is not just a source of comfort. He is the One in whom all things hold together, actively sustaining the universe and every detail of your life right now. The same hands that hold the cosmos are the hands that were pierced on the cross to reconcile you to God. Our greatest problem was never our circumstances. It was the separation from God that sin created. Faith is not pretending life does not hurt. It is placing the full weight of your life on the One who is already holding everything together.
