Do you ever feel unsure how to actually pray through the Armor of God?

You know the passage.
You’ve read the words.
But when it comes to daily life—real battles, real distractions, real exhaustion—it can be hard to know how to put it into practice.

This short, under-5-minute prayer episode is designed to meet you right there.

In this guided prayer, Kate walks you through each piece of the armor from Ephesians 6—helping you not just understand it, but actively put it on through prayer. From fastening the belt of truth to taking up the shield of faith, you’ll be led to intentionally prepare your heart and mind for the spiritual realities you face each day.

Think of this as a daily tool you can return to again and again.

Whether you listen in the morning before your day begins, in the middle of a hard moment, or at night as you reset—this episode is here to help you slow down, refocus, and rely on the Lord’s strength instead of your own.

If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t know how to pray this,”—this is for you.

Come back to it daily.
Let it shape your prayers.
And step into each day clothed in the strength God has already provided.

Why This Prayer Matters

Kate

Hey everyone, this is a tool that I hope will bless you that you can come back to again and again. It is a modified version of the prayer that I've already prayed over you guys here in this Armor of God series by author Kevin Halloran. I wanted to kind of tweak it and make it our own, but it is inspired certainly by his prayer. And I hope it's something that will bless you as you daily put on the whole armor of God. So here it is. Let's pray together. Father, we come before you grateful, so aware that everything that we have is because of Christ. Thank you for rescuing us, for forgiving us, for drawing us near and calling us your own. Thank you that we don't stand alone in this life, but that you have given us your spirit and your word, and you have not left us unprepared for what we face. You call us to be strong in you, not in ourselves. And we feel how much we need that today. So would you strengthen us by your power? Teach us today what it actually looks like to rely on you in the middle of real life. You know how easily we can be distracted, discouraged, or deceived. Open our eyes to what's really going on. Help us recognize the enemy's schemes, not just the obvious temptations, but the quiet lies, the subtle shifts in our thinking, the slow drift away from what is true. Today we fasten on the belt of truth. We choose to hold tightly to what you say is true, even when it feels easier to believe something else. When our emotions are loud, when culture pulls us in a different direction, when lies sound convincing, please steady us in your truth. Let it hold everything together in our lives. We put on the breastplate of righteousness. Guard our hearts, Lord. When we feel the weight of our sin or hear the voice of accusation, remind us that our standing with you is secured by Christ. And from that place, lead us to live rightly, to pursue what honors you even when no one sees, even when it costs us something. We put on the shoes that come from the gospel of peace. Root us in the reality that we are at peace with you. Let that peace steady our steps when life feels unstable, and make us ready, willing to go, willing to speak, willing to live in a way that carries the good news into the lives of others. We take up the shield of faith. There are so many moments where doubt creeps in, where fear arises, where we're tempted to question you. In those moments, help us trust you anyway. Help us lift up faith, not in ourselves, but in who you are. Remind us of your faithfulness so that every lie, every fear, and every temptation loses its power. We take the helmet of salvation. Guard our minds. When we start to spiral, when we fixate on what's temporary, when we forget where this is all headed, lift our eyes. Remind us that we belong to you, that our future is secure, and that one day every broken thing will be made right. Let that hope steady us and carry us forward. We take the sword of the Spirit, which is your word, grow in us a hunger for it, shape us through it, teach us not just to read it, but to use it, to bring truth into the exact places where we're being tempted, discouraged, or led astray. Make us people who know your word well enough to stand on it. And we take up the weapon of prayer. Draw us into deeper dependence on you. Instead of trying to handle everything on our own, turn our hearts toward you again and again in conversation throughout the day. Teach us to pray honestly, persistently, and with awareness for ourselves and for others who are in the fight too. Father, we need you for all of this. We cannot do any of it apart from you. Clothe us in what you've given. Strengthen us to stand, keep us grounded in Christ, steady in truth, and faithful in the middle of the battle. And when the day is hard, help us remain standing. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
