🎙️ A Life That Travels | Season 5 Kickoff

Season five of TravelEssary starts with a deep breath, a fresh perspective, and a road that’s still unfolding.

In this kickoff episode, we’re sharing where we’ve been, where we are now, and where this season is headed as a family living life full-time on the road. From those early Season One days to everything this lifestyle has shaped in us since, this episode is a reflection on growth, grit, and choosing a life that travels with you.

This season is all about the real rhythms of full-time RV life. The everyday moments. The logistics, the learning curves, the slow mornings and moving days. The places that surprise us, the routines we’ve had to relearn, and the many different ways people build a life on the road.

You’ll hear what Season Five will cover, including:

  • Day-to-day RV living and what it actually looks like behind the scenes
  • Travel logistics, planning, and adapting on the fly
  • Exploring new towns, parks, and unexpected stops
  • The mindset shifts that come with choosing flexibility over formula

We also tease what’s ahead beyond this season and share a glimpse into the bigger picture we’re building as we continue this journey together.

Whether you’re a full-time traveler, a weekend wanderer, or someone who simply dreams of living with more intention, this season is for you.

Welcome to A Life That Travels.
We’re so glad you’re here for Season Five.

We're the Essary family and we're exploring America one destination at a time. Today we are kicking off season five of TravelEssary, and I can't wait to tell you what we're bringing to the table this season. Let's chat.

Welcome and thank you for joining us on this season five opener. I am so excited. I am pumped up about season five now, season one through four. There was a lot of amazing things in those seasons. I mean, I feel like we're being biased, but Sure. Some very serious topics, some very enjoyable topics, but season five, I'm still trying to wrap my mind and my brain around, we're on season five.

Yeah. Like doing this for five seasons is. , I know , we've mentioned this before in some of our other season openers. It's such a rarity to get this far, to get this far mm-hmm. , To stick it out, to always try to bring up either current or , very good informational topics.

That not only have we lived through that we've done, but that we are continuing to do and we're looking forward and this is how we're planning , to make those things happen. And so going five seasons into that is definitely by no means a small feat at all.

And I am so excited, mainly because of where our life is currently and where it's going. Yeah. So season five will be the first season where the entire season. Is recorded. While we are full-time traveling, while we are on the road, while our back door, our scenery changes all year long. Yes. I am so excited to get into this season.

I'm so excited of what's coming up. I, first of all, let's tell you guys what we're gonna be talking about. Season five. In Season five we're very specifically going to be talking about a life that travels. Yes, we are diving into the RV full-time travel aspect of this channel and we will still be throwing in specific locations and regions that we're gonna be in and things like that.

But I really, really want to get into. The focus of this season, and that is a life that travels. So what does that mean for you guys? And what are we going to be talking about this season?

That means a big part of our focus is going to be. Letting you guys in on our day to day, more of our day to day and what's happening in the RV life, not just us specifically, although yes, we will be giving it from our perspective. So yes, it's gonna be us, but what we see. As full-time travelers in this lifestyle, this very specific full-time traveling of rv because there are a lot of full-time travelers who do not full-time travel in an rv.

There may be backpackers or maybe they stay in hotels and they fly across the world. And we follow several people on YouTube that. They pretty much full-time travel, but they don't own any sort of rv. No. They are going from airport to airport. From destination to destination. From hostile train to hostile.

Yeah. Whatever it is that they have to do. And if you are able, and you have the mindset to do that, and that's, , your goal and your drive, then by all means head out., There have been some episodes that we saw on YouTube that we were like. Oh man, I wish we could do that. Yeah, it looks amazing.

And then there were some episodes on YouTube like we, there's no way we're doing that Uhuh. Yeah but yet that brings us to the life that we live. That is specifically, you know, the RV travel towards, , our family life is the RV travel and, .

We're gonna deep dive into that even more in season five because it's something that, once again, we are going to be living. Every single day during season five. Yeah. And in starting the podcast all the way back from season one, the entire thought process with this, yes, we love traveling, , just trips and vacations and day excursions, but.

From the very beginning, the thought was one day we were going to be full-time travelers, and here we are doing that. So , we just really want to share what that looks like, like what it really looks like. Give some advice, give some. Inside tips and tricks for anyone who might be interested in following along, maybe one day joining this lifestyle, or maybe those who are just super curious of how in the world we do it and what it looks like.

So that is going to be, a main topic. Now, will that be all we're talking about? No, because, no, we definitely want to make sure that people who have zero interest in the RV lifestyle. Can still follow along with the travel Ry family and the journey, but that will be our main focus this season. Yeah.

Getting into kind of what , the chaotic routines that we have, because not every day, not every location is gonna be the same routine day in and day out. It changes. All the time. We are still trying to figure out what that routine is. Trying to figure out what kind of system works for us to make, our lives easier.

Mm-hmm. Not only for podcasting, but our other businesses that we have going on and trying to make all the things work inside of our. Calendar year or you know, within our timeframe that we have in every section. And we just want to give y'all as much information and as much detail as we possibly can of what we do that makes our lives a whole lot easier.

And. Even some tips and tricks from other people that, you know, we've gained a little bit of their knowledge and said, Hey, how do you make this work? And then share how that worked out for us. Yeah. So a sneak peek into what's coming up over the next several months. I do believe season five will last until the end of June, so for the rest of winter and spring, in the beginning of summer.

We're gonna be talking about the systems that keep our RV life specifically running smoothly, like what we put into place in order to keep this lifestyle going because yeah, , there are definitely some insights in the background that a lot of people don't know about and they don't. C we wanna talk about, , what we see from our RV window, and I cannot wait to get into that episode because we're gonna be spilling some tea and y'all it's not something that we're just gonna sit at , our podcast little area and look out our window and just talk about the people that we see specifically. We have been sitting and looking out our windows for months, and we have seen so. Much . Yeah. In just how people live and how they travel, how they set up, , what they're traveling with.

A lot of people are like, Hey, how do you do this? What do you travel with? What kind of vehicles do you have? , There's so many different ways of doing this life and. We're really looking forward to in season five of just how diverse that is.

Sometimes it will blow your mind that people actually do that, and then sometimes your mind will be blown of like, they have what? That is awesome. Yeah. , We've learned some things looking at people outside of our window. We've laughed at some things and we've been terrified by some things, so I can't wait to share that.

But Jeremy is right.. One of the things that I really wanna talk about this season is how. This lifestyle does not look the same for everyone. No, not at all. So if there's something that we talk about during the season that we do specifically and you're like, Ooh, I don't know if that would work for me, , I encourage you to do more research because there's probably a different way to do it because I don't think there is any one thing that we do in this lifestyle that everyone else does exactly the same.

No, , not a single thing. Everyone does it differently. The concept is the same. Yes. The concept's the same. And that's what makes this , so wonderful because it is so diverse on how you can make it happen. Yeah. It's totally adaptable to your family's needs. Yeah.

And wants, so just, oh man. Season five. That's just a little bit of what we're gonna be talking about. Some other topics that we're gonna be talking about is the regions we go to. We've always talked about, , going to different places and experiencing the culture, experiencing, , that lifestyle that is around there and mm-hmm The places and eating and food and all this other kind of stuff.

And the most exciting thing about season five, of course, we're going to Florida. No, we're leaving Texas. Oh, that too. We're finally, , that's actually, I don't know, going to Florida and leaving Texas. That's pretty close to each other, we have been to Florida so many times, Florida, but we do love Florida.

If we do, but we just finally get to get out of Texas. I really, I should have done this before we started, and I will have it ready by next episode, but I need to go through and count how many states we're gonna go through this year and how many we're gonna stay in.

, So it's different because it's how many states we're gonna go through, because there's gonna be times where we don't stop in certain states. Mm-hmm. And then how many states we actually get to stop at. Yeah. Because it's gonna be a little bit different, especially trying to get to the East coast.

We're just gonna blow past some of the south states that we've already experienced. But just a quick rundown, we will be heading up the East Coast all the way up to New York over several months. And you know what? We're actually already getting into season six because by the time we get to New York season, five's gonna be over.

Season five's over because we have so much to do between now and then season five, we officially leave Texas, so I cannot wait till we get into the different regions that we are so completely unfamiliar with and be able to share them from our perspective. Yes, our point of view of going into a brand new location, a brand new city or region, and just.

Experiencing things. There's so much to look forward to that I don't want to give a whole bunch of details away because I wanna keep it kind of mysterious. Mysterious there. There are some places that I can, and there's gonna be specific locations, like we already have ideas of where and what we want to experience in some of the very specific locations that we're gonna go to that we're gonna be sharing as well.

So it's not gonna be just us in like Hale, our RV life is, I mean, we're also going to be experiencing the adventure. What there is to do, the local regions, the local culture, the very specific. Towns and cities that you can go to and just everything that there is about those specific locations. Yeah, and I already have all of our reservations booked for the entirety of season five, like everywhere we're staying for like the next five months or so, I have completely booked and paid for and ready to go.

So, ah, that just makes me that much more anxious. But season five is not gonna be all sunshine and rainbows. I do wanna get into the nitty gritty of this lifestyle. Well, 'cause that's what it's all about. That's what this podcast is about. Although we're gonna give you the rainbows and the sugar plums there are some downsides to this. Yeah. So we're gonna talk about when travel stops feeling magical, we're gonna talk about. Burnout on the road, things like that. We wanna be real, we wanna be honest about, , what we experience and what we see other full-time RV travelers experience.

So it's not just gonna be like, oh, our life is perfect. Don't get me wrong. It's been fantastic so far and we feel extremely grateful and blessed, but there are definitely hiccups and some truths that we wanna put out there. So if it's something that you're thinking about, it'll give you a reason to stop and ponder if this lifestyle.

Is for you or if you are already in this lifestyle, because I know that we have gained a lot of full-time RV listeners, which I'm so glad you guys are here with us now that you can relate to it. You can be like, oh man, I so relate to that. I love watching YouTube videos. A full-time RVs. I'm specifically thinking of like happily ever Hanks, I think is who they're called.

Mm-hmm. And I will link them down below in the show notes and find them on YouTube. Their sweetest couple ever, but they have been having some struggles this winter and I'm like, Ugh, I can relate to that. Like I, I understand how you're feeling in that moment. So we want to be informative of those who are looking into this lifestyle, and we just wanna be relatable to those who are already.

The lifestyle. And in those podcasts where you're going to be also mentioning ways of overcoming them, overcoming the burnout, that you're going to run into, it is inevitable that things will happen. Oh, and consistently. And when they happen, how you can mentally, physically, and financially prepare for those.

Yeah, we have a whole episode or two coming up on that because it's things that we have personally dealt with. Yes. And I know we will continue dealing with as we travel and do this lifestyle., I wanna end the season on a high note though, so, um, everybody get ready. Make sure you stick with us through all the highs and lows because when we end season five, , we're going to be talking about our absolute favorite things about this lifestyle, and then when we end season five, we will be right around our two year anniversary mark and I just can't wait.

To be in , that aspect of life. It's been such a journey. I can't wait to share where we've come in those two years of doing this from visualizing our dream to having it come to fruition and the journey that we have been through from beginning

and yeah, I just, ah, I can't wait. And to be quite frank and very honest, sometimes it still doesn't feel real. Oh, no, I say this a lot in podcasts and YouTube videos when I'm talking to people, but I still have imposter syndrome and that could be because we're still fresh in the whole full-time travel.

Yeah. It's only been a few months and, I'm very curious . To get to the point that I actually realize that this is what we get to do and like when is that? Is it gonna be in season five that we're like, oh yeah, we're full into it. You know, this is, this is real, this is what we're doing. Or will it take us into season six?

Now, I don't wanna get too far ahead of ourselves, but season five is amazing. And all the things that we're about to talk about are gonna be real. They're gonna be very informative. It's gonna be , very, in my opinion, you know, as biased as that possibly is it, it's gonna be very good, knowledgeable things and.

The places that we get to go when we talk about regions and Pacific places, some of them are our absolute favorite places to go so far. And we're gonna be adventuring into new places that we've never been before. Season six is gonna take us into a whole different spectrum., The year 2026 mm-hmm. Is gonna be amazing. Yeah. Season five, we will be revisiting a few places that we have traveled to before. We'll be some new places, some revisiting. It will be an overall region that we are somewhat familiar with, kind of Yeah.

But season six. Is 100% new for me. Yeah. And the kids, so, so, I mean, just so far ahead of ourselves. Yeah. Season six. So excited is coming. Just be prepared. We've already got some things lined out for season six, so this isn't like season five is the finale of our Journey. We are going to continue going Oh yes.

And. Season five is gonna have such, season five is the beginning of our journey, is the beginning. It's gonna have such a, the true beginning, different aspect from all of our previous seasons. And this one is just, it's gonna be something special because not only is it something that's gonna be relatable to people that full-time travel, but it's also gonna be relatable to people that are looking for.

Maybe even a vacation destination because of the places that we get to go in season five, right? We know a lot of people who have RVs and they like to travel with their RVs, but they don't do it full time. But we might can be like, encourage them to go spend a few weeks somewhere, but like, Hey, it's totally worth it.

It's totally worth it. Go hit up this region. This little area has so much going on I don't wanna get too far ahead, but man. . And planning all of this out. Planning, oh my goodness. Planning all this out and trying to get so much planning, so much. And every little place that we go to, we're checking, , everywhere within almost a hundred miles of wherever we're stopping just to see what's going on.

Yeah. And there's so much into planning this life, not only in full-time travel, but even the adventure part that we get to. , experience as much as possible while we're there for the very short time. That we get to be at these places. Yeah. So we will be talking about a life that travels.
