I had had the privilege of hosting George Quaye on Talk No Dey Cook Rice, and the conversation was a powerful reminder that true success is rarely loud — it is built quietly, consistently, and with intention.

From starting out as a copywriter at Charterhouse to rising to become Head of Communications, George’s journey is one of growth, resilience, and deep gratitude for the opportunities that shaped him.

He spoke candidly about failure — the moments where life did not go as planned — and how he found the strength to rise again. One striking reflection was how a simple coat in a room at Mfantsipim School became a symbol that helped him reset his mindset and push forward when things felt uncertain.

We also explored his unwavering commitment to excellence, particularly in theatre production. Even when ticket sales are low, his standard remains high — a principle that defines his work and reputation.

Beyond the work, George shared a refreshing perspective on relationships. His collaborations with top artistes such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Samini are not transactional. For him, it’s about trust, value, and genuine connection — not just billing.

Perhaps most striking was his stance on media practice. In an era where controversy often drives attention, he deliberately chooses not to ask sensational or uncomfortable questions simply for engagement. His focus remains on meaningful, respectful, and impactful conversations.

This episode is a masterclass in:

Growth through consistency
The power of non-transactional relationships
Holding your standard, regardless of circumstances
Choosing depth over noise
