Episode 6 - Twisted Trails and Whispered Wails in Cook Forest and Hoia Baciu
Step off the path and into the unknown as we begin our journey in Cook Forest, a Pennsylvania woodland cloaked in ghost stories, cryptid encounters, and legends whispered between ancient, towering pines. From phantom figures drifting along the river to creatures reported deep in the hemlock shadows, these woods hold more than just the rustle of deer and the creak of old trees.
Then we cross continents to the warped and unsettling wilderness of Hoia Baciu, Romania’s notorious “Bermuda Triangle of forests.” Here, strange lights hover above the clearing, the trees twist into unnatural shapes, and visitors report losing time—or their sense of direction entirely. It’s a place where folklore, fear, and fascination collide beneath a canopy that feels alive.
Along the way, we unpack the chilling encounters, local lore, and spine-tingling eyewitness accounts that make both forests magnets for the curious, the brave, and the slightly unhinged. From spectral silhouettes to strange vortexes to whispers that don’t belong to the wind, we’re following every rustle, shadow, and wail these woods dare to reveal.
Grab a flashlight, stay on the trail, and whatever you do… don’t answer when the forest calls your name.
