SPEAKER_01

You're all beyond the veil now. Happy, happy hour. Is that anything? Well, no, I don't.

SPEAKER_00

No, I was like, let me get that thing.

SPEAKER_02

No, I was just edging you. Well, I can't say that. Oh, Jesus Christ. Oh my god. That's not what that means.

SPEAKER_00

That like came to my head and immediately left my mouth, and I was like, hmm. We don't have any filters with each other, so it's really actually like for us, it's fine. Like, we don't, we just say whatever. For people listening though, they're like, wait a second, too far. Bless these girls with some holy water.

SPEAKER_02

No, literally, just like sprinkle it at them, watch us burn. I'm just kidding. But I honestly have just been thinking about this episode. That's like the only thing that I can talk about at the moment. I feel like I kept mine pretty mellow this time, guys. It was it is not like how it was last time with the white kimono game, because that one absolutely fucking freaks me out. But you better believe next time. My air conditioner just kicked on. I'm so sorry. Um, you better believe next time. Um it's gonna be it's gonna be scary. I love these episodes. I'm gonna scare myself because I love these episodes so much. Like this is one like whenever we talked about like creating the podcast, this was like the topic I wanted to talk about. This was just something I wanted to do so much. Um, and I love it because it's so creepy, but it's not easy to research or even edit the episode, especially when it's dark out, but even when it's daytime, it is so difficult. It's just it's very scary. And if you don't think that paranormal games and rituals are scary, I you can't sit with us, so that's all I have to say about it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, I I agree. They are creepy as fuck. And and it honestly, every time I research them, shit happens. Like weird shit happens. This is a weird thing. Like I yeah, I always have stuff happening. I don't I'm trying to think, I don't think this time I did, but I've also just been kind of like not aware of everything, I guess. Because I've been so busy, like maybe tired. A little out of it because of life. Yeah, so I don't know if maybe that's why I'm just not seeing, like, I'm not as like uh aware to situations as I normally am, but because I'm I'm aware that I'm not aware, if that makes sense. So I'm trying to work on it. Yeah, but yeah, I definitely think it's terrifying too.

SPEAKER_02

So it is. But I did keep mine pretty easy this time, so just so you guys know, I'm going last, so it'll be like a nice little ending.

SPEAKER_00

Mine's interesting. Um I think you guys will like it. It's interesting. I will. But for yappy hour, I did want to say that I have been like really fucking annoyed with IT at work lately, and I know that that's like not related to the podcast, but like I like I'm having this issue where I can't track my productivity with accounts. And IT keeps saying to like fucking turn it's track on again. Have you closed out the app and gotten back into it? Like, have you restarted your computer? And then they also made me send them like a clip of my internet speed. I'm like, I fucking know it's not my internet. Like it's not why would that affect us? But either way, I'm not IT, so whatever. But I um like doing everything they want, and again, I did turn it off and back on again, so don't come for me. But I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_02

It's funny because like it's so obnoxious when people talk to us about it.

SPEAKER_00

It does work very well very well though.

SPEAKER_02

Well, because like whenever we reach out for help, we have already exhausted everything that we could possibly do, and we're not like not trying to help ourselves. So from an IT person's perspective, they just think of all of us as fucking stupid, and they're like, Okay, do this, but they don't know that we've done the bare minimum already.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, they like treat us like our grandmas or something. Yes, it's not don't know what we're doing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's super offensive. Um, I feel like every time someone bitches about an IT person, I'm just like, I get it, I get it. But I also can see it from their point of view because I can only imagine how absolutely insane the shit that they deal with. Like they probably are like you're typing your password in wrong.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and honestly, that did happen one time. I I'm very embarrassed to say, but one time I literally was like, I can't get in this thing, and I did something, it was something weird with my password. But there have been other times where I had to change my like network password or computer password, and then my computer wouldn't let me in because it didn't like it, it like changed it but didn't accept the new password or some weird shit, and then IT had to like completely reset all my shit, and I was like, So now like I just never know what to do. I just tell I do what they tell me to do, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Like I'm gonna understand. I'm a sheep. It's hard though. It's really hard for like I I get it. It's ridiculous. I hope that they can figure your problem out soon though.

SPEAKER_00

Me too, because it is it's like the smallest problem, really, but it's also a it's also really important. Like you do need to be able to track your your shit. Yeah. Yeah, I can't like jump back into accounts that I previously worked because of it. Because like uh like say I worked on an account and then I work five more, and then I'm like, oh, this is connected to that one I worked five accounts ago. I can't go back to it unless I have the account number on something to go back to. Like if I'm working out of a queue, I can't go back to that account unless I have my productivity dashboard thing, and I it's just not working. But yeah. Oh well. I mean it'll it'll work out, but um, IT was acting like I was crazy until they found out that numerous people through the company are having the same issue, like enough for them to escalate it into a special department. So now they're not looking at me like I'm crazy anymore, and they're trying to figure out what the problem is.

SPEAKER_02

And they're like, Have we tried turning it on and off again?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I've you know I should ask them. I'm like, Did you guys turn it on and off again? Well like, hey, take a page out of your own book. Yeah. Started as an IT guy, he's gonna be like, hey, what the fuck? Yeah, he's I heard you guys talking shit. He'll catch up in fucking two years.

SPEAKER_02

He's so slow to listen to these episodes, it's unreal. Bad boy. He's also so slow to do like things he wants, though. Like, he just finished the third Avatar book. Like, he started it before Dylan did, and he's not done. It is so ridiculous. Like, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's um like whenever I talk to people who have stuff like that, like jobs like that, it kind of makes me more grateful for mine. And Ben gives me shit all the time saying about how boring my job is, and then all I do is type times a hundred, and I'm like, okay, I get it. Um, yeah, I I mean I don't love mine all the time, but I do I am very like I do love it at times, if it makes sense, and I'm also very appreciative of it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh grateful for the job that I do have, um, and that I'm able to like have a good work and home balance, I guess. Yeah, I do like I I do have a nice balance. So I just appreciate that because I feel like sometimes like Tyler does, but I f oh I'm sorry, you can blank out his name. Uh your husband does. I see. I don't know if his name's been in here before. Okay. Yeah. But he does have a decent balance, but I feel like mine is better than hers. Yeah. Hers, you know what I mean. I can assure you, he does not have a baker. No dinas up in there. No ginas.

SPEAKER_02

It's so fucking funny. Yeah, no, he's stressed a lot of the time. It's very unfortunate, but he's so good at his job, and and I feel like because the stuff he does is not like have you tried turning it on and off again. It is extremely in-depth.

SPEAKER_00

Um, and uh, he loves it, but it's so hard. And I will say that he's really good at handling the stress, in my opinion. Like, um, I'm sure it's not all the time, like like I'm sure there are days that it overcomes him, but for the most part, when he comes home from work, like anytime I've been there and he's when he's at home, he's at home. You know what I mean? He's not like stressed about work and stuff like that. I'm sure there are times where he does it's not all this.

SPEAKER_02

It's rare, but like like he brings his stress home for like maybe the first 15 minutes, and we talk about it, or he talks about it with like like a friend or something, and then that's it, because he's like, I don't want to bring my work home. And also he does go to the gym like three to four times a week, and that really helps like let off steam because his job is like three minutes away, like it's three minutes up the road.

SPEAKER_00

He doesn't really have time to decompress or anything, so and well, I mean, we'll think about like you and I at the same like in the same breath, like we work from home, so our like we do our our home is work, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's super hard to navigate sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it took me a long time when I first started working from home to do that, and I'm I've gotten a lot better like when I walk away from my desk, like I might bitch about it for a minute or something, but when I walk away, I'm done. Yes, that's uh like I'm I know I brought it into the pod today, but I just wanted to say That's okay. I'm thinking I am very grateful and thankful for IT reps, I really am, but I also wish that they'd understand that I when I tell you I started my computer numerous times, like I don't want you to be like do it again. Like because then I have to get up with you, start like redo everything, log back into everything. Like I already did it. Yep. That's all I'm saying. Yeah. Like, thanks guys.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Tyler does like weird stuff. I don't even know. It's so funny. He tries so hard to like explain it to me, but I just can't comprehend it. But his is like mail moves and like whatever the fuck that means, and he does migrations and he fucking I I don't know, he works with like hospitals and like um CEOs of companies and somebody down the fucking street. Like he works for um a small business near us, a small computer business near us, and everybody who works in the office does IT for like however many clients they have. So it's it's cool. It's really there's not very many workers there, it's pretty close-knit. He really enjoys it and likes the people there, so as long as he's happy, I'm happy. Um sometimes I do worry about him like getting a brain aneurysm though, because like that guy thinks all fucking day. Yeah, he really does, and like has to solve problems all the time. But honestly, it's and I'm almost done, I'm gonna wrap it up because everyone's probably like ew, but him being able to like problem solve at work. There's never a single problem he won't be able to solve at home either.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I just oh my god. In any situation, I will say, like, he is definitely like a problem solver, like all the time. Like he he's like, well, let's look at and yeah, he's he's very calm, and he's like, Okay, like if there a problem comes up, he's like, Okay, well, here's our entire situation, here's the problem, and here are the solutions. And he's very like thoughtful and literal with it, I guess. I'm trying to think like the right words, but yeah, like he's great with that stuff. I think he is in the perfect line of work for him.

SPEAKER_02

I think so too. It's definitely like IT and like computers and like taking things apart and building them together again and helping other people is like his his passion. So I'm just so happy that he has that because it's really hard for people to find that. So I'm happy for him.

SPEAKER_00

When am I ever gonna get a job that pays me to read and talk? Well, let's keep this up. That's my passion. Yep, and no, I love helping people a lot too, but yeah, you do that is something I do, but I also lose myself in it. So I don't think it's a good job for me to have, like, if that makes sense. Like I my dream was always to be a psychologist, and you know that, but um I realized in college that I get too involved and too like I i it would be really hard for me to take turn my brain off from work, I guess, and and not bring it home with me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, how are you not like empathetic towards like how do you not how do you not let that consume you and feel bad about other people?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so even though I'm great with it, I'm like, you know, I don't need to do that for a living. No, I will stick with doing what I do now.

SPEAKER_02

It's too hard. It's too hard. Psychiatrists, therapists, all of you guys just have like a different you're built different and your work is.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. Yep. So anyway, let's jump in today. I'm jumping. And our topic is paranormal games, if anybody forgot, without uh ranting. Lol. Sorry. What if the universe is just waiting for you to tell it what you want to find? Hiding it right around the corner in a blind spot, you pass every single day. In 2020, at the height of global lockdowns, millions of people downloaded an app that promised to break them out of their daily routine. It didn't use an algorithm based on user data or map history. It might be data to you, but I say data stuff. I say data. I yeah. Tyler says data, and I'm like, eh. Oh, like it's that IG in him. It's probably actually the proper way to say it, because you guys know it says data, but it is, but I won't do it. I can't do it. It feels wrong rolling off the tongue. Yeah, it doesn't it doesn't flow.

SPEAKER_02

It's like radiator. No, it's a fucking radiator from Pennsylvania.

SPEAKER_00

But it does radiate heat, so it is supposed to be radiator. But I'm just saying I say radiator too. I don't say rid up, though. I don't say that. That's definitely a Pennsylvania thing, but I don't say it. I say red up. Rid, red. Um what the fuck's the other one?

SPEAKER_02

My mom would say red's a good one. Oh my god, that's a big thing. Is that a Pennsylvania thing? No, that's a dad and our mom. No, it's literally just like an arm thing.

SPEAKER_00

No, I've heard toilet too. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Me and Torlet Works has so much fun of dad and my mom for saying toilet. No, I've heard other people say it too. Like we clown them every single time. Well, you should. This is like a weekly occurrence. We clown the fuck out of them for oh, and they also said cousin? And we're like, where's the tea? Where are you finding that?

SPEAKER_00

That's yeah, yeah, cousin. And I'm like, no. That's uh Barb says some stuff funny. I'm trying to think, I can't think of anything right now. She says instead of celery, if she listens to the episode, she's gonna hate me. But instead of celery, she says salary all the time. Like she'll be like, Oh, I hate salary unless it's with peanut butter. I'm like, Barb, it isn't I let it go. Dylan's Dylan will be like, oh he always has some smart ass comment, though. It's hilarious. And then I feel like an asshole. There's it's just a small handful of random things that she says, totally different, and I'm just like, okay. Mm-hmm. It's wild in uh dialect, man. One of the things that she says, it might have been celery, honestly. He was talking about celery and said celery, and I was like, You hung out with your grandma too long. No, it was funny.

SPEAKER_02

You and ma'am need separated.

SPEAKER_00

No, oh my goodness, I found out, and and it's so like obviously we we are so used to him calling her ma'am. Yeah. That it's not something I think about. But one of my friends that recently met her was worried that she was really stripped because she heard Ben calling her ma'am. Oh, and was like she told me she was like, I was so scared, and she was actually so nice. And I was like, Oh my god, yeah, Barb's amazing. I'm like, she's one of the nicest people ever. I mean, she's very blunt, but she's very nice. Um, but yeah, she I was talking to her about that, and um, so I do want to let our our our listeners know that um he calls her ma'am. As a grandma term. Yeah, like like ram, like gram, but ma'am. So he it's just how he he couldn't say gram when he was little, so he said ma'am, and it just stuck, and she's always been called ma'am, but it's not ma'am as in like yes ma'am, it's like ma'am is in my gram.

SPEAKER_02

I've actually never thought about that because it's just been so normal. But yeah, yeah, it's someone else's sense.

SPEAKER_00

As soon as he could talk, and I was like, Oh my god, I like didn't think about it. I was like, people probably like really think like she you know, she's like Yes ma'am. I love you, ma'am. Yeah, right. But no, and like because I was thinking about it in stores and stuff too. Like anytime we've gone to the stores or restaurant and he calls her ma'am, like I I didn't think about it, but I wonder what people think. That's hilarious. Well, sorry guys, but it happens. Anyway, they don't use data or data, however you say it. Instead, it used a quantum random number generator, but this is bigger than me, I'm just telling you guys, from an Australian university to spit out completely random geographic coordinates. The app was called Randonautica and the users, they call themselves Randonautica.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Are you quoting me? No. I know what they call themselves, and I'm okay. I was like, am I still sharing my screen right now? Oh no, no, no. That's fucking hilarious. You were like fucking clowning me now. Wait a minute. How'd you know that? No, it kind of makes sense. So no random routing is fucking crazy. I'm excited about this. Have you done it? No. I kind of want to. We can. But we'll talk about it at the end.

SPEAKER_02

Big old twisted tea in a few months. Tw make our husbands drive us around.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, I forgot you randomly twisted tea.

SPEAKER_02

Bitch, I'll drink I'll drink a twe any time of day.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I totally want to. I was like, what the fuck you told? I forgot you drank alcohol. You and like, wait, you can have that one of these days? Like, yes. And I plan to. No, that'd be great. That'd be so fun to do. Um, we gotta be careful. But anyway, let's jump in. I will show you. I'll you know, I I've never actually done it before. So this is me just using Google and all the other things I could find online. Sure. And I mean, I my brother-in-law and sister-in-law did do this before, but I did not reach out to them about it, unfortunately. So I do apologize. Um, I was gonna get their experience, but they had to go out of the country. They're very busy and yeah, they they have been traveling a ton in their out of the country right now, so I did not have a chance to talk to them about their experience. So I do apologize. But anyway, I forgive you. There was a catch. Before the app dropped your pin, it asked you to close your eyes, focus your mind, and project a specific intent. Maybe your intent was something pretty. Maybe it was money. Or maybe if you were feeling brave in the dead of night, your intent was something scary, which we will not fucking do. No.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. When we do this, we're looking for money. Money Yes, money. No, no, we're not doing something scary. Sorry guys, we're not doing that. We will it'll be creepy. The whole situation will be creepy. Exactly. I'm just saying we don't have to look for something scary. I don't want to, I don't want a scary intent. No. To understand why this app blew up online, we have to look at how it works. The creators claim that human consciousness can subtly influence quantum numbers by focusing on an intent. You allegedly warp the random distribution, drawing yourself towards an anomaly, a point where energy is concentrated. So, like that that's a whole bunch of fancy words of saying like everyone is like in this big thing that you can focus on and like you can get lead, like move towards that. I don't know, just make it simpler. No, you got it. It was uh it's interesting. I don't know. I think it's this kind of science or lack of I don't know if it'd be considered science or not. I don't want to say lack of science, but like to me it's science-y, but it's like yeah, it's very cool. But I think it's amazing and I would love to know more about it. Uh skeptics call it confirmation bias. If you look for a red door, you'll notice a red door. But some of the real life accounts shared across Reddit and TikTok defy easy explanations. They feel less like coincidences and more like glitches in the matrix. Which we may visit this topic again for a future episode of BIM, but for now it's a game topic because I do what I want. Uh yeah. Let's start with a chilling account shared on Reddit's paranormal page by a user who decided to try the app with a friend on a quiet evening. Their intent. They didn't voice it out loud, they just wanted to see what would happen if they looked for an anomaly out past the edge of town. The app dropped a pin in a dark, empty field near an abandoned farm.

SPEAKER_02

No. Immediately, no.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if it's abandoned, no. And farmed, no. Middle of nowhere? No. Dark? No. Mm-mm. Yeah, it's probably haunted cows out there or some shit. I'm not getting haunted by a fucking cow. I'm not getting haunted by a cow.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, didn't we actually cover something where there was like a a fucking cow? Like they're one of our haunted battlefields, wasn't there a cow?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

I I swear to god that actually happened.

SPEAKER_02

I don't even know.

SPEAKER_00

Or I had a dream about it. I don't know. I swear to God. Anyway, they said We drove out there, joking around to keep our spirits up, but when we got out of the car and walked into the field, everything just changed. The wind completely stopped, the birds went dead silent. It was like someone had pressed a giant mute button on nature. That's when my friend pointed to the ground. Right at the exact GPS coordinate, there was a perfect isolated circular burn mark in the grass. No tire tracks leading to it, no matches, no uh remnants of a campfire, just dead black circle. Shaken by the sudden lack of sound, they ran back to the car and drove back into the city to clear their heads. They decided to park near a local school and take a regular walk, but the anomaly wasn't finished with them. The user continues. As we walked past the old school, the heavy silence slammed back down on us. Then, out of the darkness from the direction of the schoolyard came a sharp, clear human whistle. The kind of whistle you hear in horror movies. We didn't say a word, we just bolted. We ended up running all the way to my friend's house. The second her key turned the front door, her neighbor's house alarm suddenly went off across the street for no reason at all. We sprinted inside and locked it. But whatever we interacted without in that field, it felt like it followed us back. Cut and be for me, guys. Cut and be for me. But I am gonna do this. Just uh I'm gonna have to do it. Not like that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was gonna say, we're not doing fucking creepy. No, because whatever intent that was.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, from my experience, well, theirs was just like they wanted to just find something, you know, unusual, I guess. Like they they didn't like go, they didn't get a very specific topic. You know what I mean? They left it open-ended, and I think that that is a problem in itself. Yeah. While some encounters feel deeply paranormal, others are terrifyingly grounded in the physical world. On TikTok, the hashtag Rananautica is filled with millions of videos of teenager oh, teenagers tracking coordinates into places they shouldn't be. In one viral video clip, a group of friends set their intent to adventure and followed a pin down a dirt road into a dense, heavily wooded area. As they reached the destination, they found an old rusted car that looked like it had been sitting abandoned for decades. Trees were literally growing through the shattered windows, but as the person filming stepped closer to look inside the rusted frame, the camera caught a sudden movement in the tree line just twenty feet away. Two men dressed entirely in black, dark clothing, or I'm sorry, in not black, entire I just added that for, you know, because I was being dramatic. Uh they were just dressed in dark clothing with hoods pulled up, stood out from behind the trunks. They didn't yell, they didn't wave, they just locked eyes with the teenagers and began walking towards them in perfect silent like togetherness.

SPEAKER_02

Togetherness. Absolutely not, dude. All my animals just walked in here because I got stressed out.

SPEAKER_00

The video cuts to chaotic, bouncy footage of teens screaming, sprinting back to their own vehicle, and slamming the door shut. Just as the driver throws the car into reverse, you hear a violent, terrifying thud on the soundtrack, the sound of strangers catching up and aggressively punching the windows, trying to shower the glass as the car speeds away into the night. Did the app send them to a random coordinate or did it send them directly into a trap? I did not see this video. I just saw a story about it. Um, so I'm assuming it was posted by the teenagers and that they got away safely. But again, I actually couldn't find this the video. I I don't know if it was taken down because of it being like a possible crime situation. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yellow punch bumps moving past my house.

SPEAKER_00

Aw man. But yeah, I don't I don't know. I could not find it, so I'm sorry. I just found the story about the video, and I was like, I have to include it in here because it was a good idea.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it could have it could have violated a community community guidelines to be honest.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, exactly. So I was like, I'll still, you know, keep it in here. But the next story is a Reddit post. A user recounted a late night drive through the rural Midwest with two friends. Using the app out of poor pure Jesus Christ almighty. You got this. Using the app out of pure boredom, they focused on an unspoken intent of danger or something scary. I don't fucking know why anybody would do this, but whatever for them. I'm sorry, I'm all about respecting people's choices, but I don't know why you would want to get into something dangerous.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if you want a thrill seat, go to a fucking amusement park.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Go stride in a race car or something, or fucking get in a roller coaster or something like that. I don't know. Go cave climbing, some sh rock climbing, cave diving, I don't know. But you don't have to do something random that you don't know what's gonna happen. But you know what, whatever. Everyone each each their own. It's just it couldn't be me for this one.

SPEAKER_02

It's scary.

SPEAKER_00

The app dropped a pin precisely in the dead center of a massive dark field down a dead end dirt road. Because it was pitch black, they decided to stay inside the car, turning the vehicle around so the passenger side windows faced the pinpoint out in the field. They sat in the car for a few minutes, daring each other to step out into the dark. Suddenly two of them spotted a strange shape far out in the distance. They said it initially just looked like a moving black blob far out in the field. We stared at it for a few minutes trying to rationalize it, but then the movement changed. We didn't realize or I'm sorry, we realized it wasn't a shadow or an animal, it was a person. And they weren't just walking, they were in a full sprint through the dirt, heading directly towards our car, and they were comp like they were completely determined. The driver slammed the car into drive and hit the gas just as the silhouette reached the edge of the dirt road. To make matters worse, as they sped away, a dark pickup truck pulled out of a hidden farm lane further down the road, trailing their car through a series of chaotic twists and turns for about five full minutes before they finally managed to lose lose it uh lose the vehicle, I'm sorry, in a an illegal U-turn.

SPEAKER_02

That is so fucking scary.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no. Mm-hmm That makes me sick. Like I literally am sick. It was hard for me to even s re like I read this, I wrote it, you know what I mean? Like read it already, knew what was happening, and it was still hard for me to get through the fucking sentences because it was stressing me out because it's so fucking scary. Like to me, the to because I picture myself in that situation, and to me that's so scary. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Also, guys, I mentioned the yellow punch bug going past my house to fret fret on. I um took a video of it. I knew it was gonna come back because I live on a dead end. I live on a dead end road, so I knew it was coming back. I saw so many coming home from your house last night, and I just couldn't. Yeah, I told you there there's so many out here. I just couldn't do it. I couldn't get it because I was driving into traffic and I got nervous.

SPEAKER_00

I can't do stuff like that in when I'm doing it either. Anyway, sorry. You're fine. Uh not all unsettling counters are malicious. Some are just deeply unexplainable. A user on the paranormal Reddit, like paranormal Reddit page, decided to download the app instead a silent mind frame. They wanted to find money. They didn't tell her husband, who was simply acting as the driver for the afternoon. The app processed the quantum numbers and generated a pin located roughly 500 feet inside a dense, towering cornfield down the road from their house. They parked and the user brought her dog along for the walk. As they walked into the thick rows of corn, the dog, who usually stayed right at her heel, suddenly perked up, broke away, and began weaving around through the stalks of corn entirely on their own. On its own, the do his own is the dog. He led them directly to the exact digital coordinate marker and stopped. And there was nothing there. Which is weird.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Uh like that the dog was like, I mean, I guess dogs can like smell. Um disappointed, assuming the app was a bus, they turned around and walked back out to the gravel road. As the user looked down to step over a ditch, her eyes caught something caught in the weeds.

SPEAKER_02

I wonder, is it like a treasure chest full of gold, or is it like Well, here's their quote.

SPEAKER_00

Um, it says, I looked down to make sure I didn't trip on the uneven ground. I saw a ton of soaking wet $20 bills scattered all through the weeds right at the edge of the field. I hadn't told my husband what my intent was, and he just stared at me in shock as I started pulling money out of the brush.

SPEAKER_02

What would you do? Would you keep it, or would you think it was like way too coincidental or ironic because coincidences aren't a thing?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I'd probably keep it. I mean as long as nobody was around there looking for it.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, like as long as like it didn't feel like a shitty situation, like where somebody was watching you or something, I feel like I would probably keep it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it just depends on the situation. Like I'm and if I'm alone. If I'm alone, I'm not bending down for money. I'm not because there's so many traps and shit like that, especially for like trafficking with women.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Um, so I don't do anything like that. But if like if it was like us, like with Dylan Tyler or situation like that, then yeah, like if no one was around and no one was hurt looking for this, then I would I'd keep it. I find money like in the city sometimes. Dylan, every time I was at like call it like in college and come visit me, he'd find like twenty dollar bills all the time. Just like people just it just fell out of their pockets, and he would find it all the time. And Ben does now too. They're they get like lucky jeans. I don't have it. It doesn't it doesn't like I don't have like I'll find like a dollar or two. I think one time I found a five or ten, but I've never just found twenties and fifties laying around. Yeah, I've never either. Another user shared a brief but touching account of an event where they had they and a group of friends set their active intention to find something sad or scary. The app mapped out a point that led them to a sketchy, neglected stretch of a semi-abandoned industrial road on the outskirts of their town. Sitting directly on the gravel at the precise coordinate point was an animal. It was like a a dog that was starving along the road. Uh the poor creature was essentially a walking skeleton, completely missing its fur, starving, shaking in the cold. It had clearly been dumped or abandoned there to die. Instead of running away, the group gently loaded the dog into the back of their car and rushed it to the emergency uh 24-hour vet clinic. They paid for her medical treatment, nursed her back to health, and officially adopted her. The user noted that while the experience was incredibly heartbreaking and scary to witness initially and oh I'm sorry, they did delete the app immediately after. They felt that they fulfilled the exact fulfilled Jesus, Lord, help me. The they fulfilled the exact purpose, the inner internet Jesus, what is wrong with me? Okay, hold on. Let me just re-reread this whole thing. The user noted that while the experience was incredibly heartbreaking and scary to witness initially, they deleted the app immediately after. They felt that they had fulfilled the exact purpose the universe intended for them that night. I'm glad that's the one. Yeah, I thought that was sweet. It was it started out sad, but it was sweet, and they they got a forever friend in that situation.

SPEAKER_02

I do think I would have done the same thing. Like, get in the car, let's go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh yeah, me too. But the most famous and tragic story is one that made international news headlines proving that sometimes the randomness of quantum world crashes into the real world horror. In June of 2020, a group of teenagers in Seattle, Washington were using the app to explore a local beach near Alki Point. I think that's how you pronounce it. It's either Aoki or Aoki. Nuts. This is how I found out random naughting, actually. It's it's insane. It is it's crazy. Their intent for the trip, they had focused their minds on the word travel. And I'm sure a lot of people, like our listeners, uh, know this story, but I don't know. But anyway, like you know it, and travel is crazy. Yeah, in my opinion. Because I wouldn't think anything bad from travel. No, that's something that you and I probably would do. Right. When they arrived at the exact shoreline coordinates, they didn't find a beautiful view or a hidden path. Instead, sitting on the wet rocks, right where the tide washed in was a single heavy black suitcase. The teenager Mika, I'm gonna take that from you. The teenagers, thinking there might be money or valuables inside, began filming a TikTok. In the original footage, you can hear them laughing and joking. One of the girls uses a stick to flip open the zipper of the suitcase. Hold on. Okay, you can have it back on the dent. Sorry, love you to death. But you gotta wait. Instantly the mood of the video shifts. The laughter stops, the camera tilts away as the girl says, Oh my god, it smells so bad. Inside the suitcase was a dark plastic garbage bag. The kids didn't know it, but at that exact moment, they just stumbled upon a piece of horrific crime of a cr of a horrific crime scene. They called the police who arrived in like taped off the beach. A second suitcase was found floating nearby in the water. The suitcases contained the remains of 27-year-old Austin Wener and 35-year-old Jessica Lewis. They had been shot and dismembered by their landlord following a dispute over rent money. The landlord was eventually arrested and convicted of the murders, but the internet was left with a haunting, unanswered question. Out of all the millions of square feet in the city of Seattle, how did a completely random quantum number generator drop a pin on the exact set of rocks at the exact hour where those suitcases had washed ashore? Was it just a mathematical coincidence?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

We know how you feel about the coincidences. They ain't there. Or did the kids' intent to find something related to related to travel somehow align with the final tragic journey of two innocent victims?

SPEAKER_02

Fucking horrific because of the suitcases. Like that's just sickening.

SPEAKER_00

That whole situation's so sad. I feel for the teenagers, I feel for the people who were murdered. Like it though it is just so sad. Um and I'm like in a way grateful that they did decide to play that game. And yeah, because they fight. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it but it's it's weird, the whole situation's sad. Um The creators of Ranonautica always maintained that the app was meant for mindful exploration. A tool to help people see their talents with fresh eyes. But when you gamify reality and when you actively ask the universe to show you an anomaly, you have to be prepared for what happens when the veil drops. Because the next coordinate you generate might take you to a beautiful hidden garden, or it might take you to an empty field where the wind refuses to blow, or a dark shoreline where a secret is waiting to be found. Wherever you find yourself, keep your eyes open and watch your step.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I definitely would see myself doing random nodding, just like with very clear intentions, I think, because I wouldn't want to stumble upon anything traumatic and and it's so hard, like they put in they they travel. You know what I mean? Yeah, like that was that's so unfair. Sucks that they had to see that.

SPEAKER_00

It is. I feel bad for them because I feel like that has to be like scarring.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like I would imagine like lifelong therapy.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and and then I mean that I I couldn't imagine going through that as a teenager. That'd be hard.

SPEAKER_02

No. No, that's really bad. And like you're with friends, you're just completely caught off guard. Like, mm-mm, no.

SPEAKER_00

And didn't the like police like suspect them first? I actually don't remember. I feel like they did, and I can't remember if that's just me putting in like watching too many crime shows and it's like they would suspect them first, or I immediately thought of that.

SPEAKER_02

I immediately thought of that though whenever you said they called the police because I was like, I would immediately call the police too, but I would be so scared that they would think I had something to do with it because I'm the one reporting it.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

It's just like it happens sometimes, like people get suspicious, so but yeah, I mean there are there was a lot of evidence to point to them not doing it, but at first people have nothing to go on, so but yeah, good job. We'll do it sometime. But um with some twees in hand and husbands chauffeuring.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I mean I do I want to like say too that I realized that I ended it on a sad note and I wish I would have like I was keeping it for like the big like viral story at the end, and I didn't realize that I just ended my story on like a bad situation and now I feel awkward in a way, like I'm like, why did I not leave like the money to the end of it? That's okay.

SPEAKER_02

No, don't feel any type of way. I will um I'll help because mine is very light but also still a little spooky. So in episode 23, which was a very long time ago, I know, I mentioned that when we spun paranormal games, I wanted to do the three kings ritual. Well, let me rephrase, I wanted to cover the three kings ritual because I will not be doing this. Aw man. So before we start Well, not before we start, but before I get into some personal experiences from the internet, I want to read the rules to you. So this is called the Three Kings ritual. Okay, so here's what you need for the game. One, a large quiet room, preferably without windows. If you must use a room with windows, cover them up so that no light from outside can make its way into the room. The room should also have a door that will close and latch securely. Two, a candle. Three, a lighter, four, a small bucket of water and a clean mug or cup. Five, an electric fan, two, no, six two large mirrors. Seven, an alarm clock, eight, three chairs, nine, a fully charged cell phone, ten, a partner you trust to follow the rules and take the game seriously, and eleven, a small object that holds sentimental or emotional value to you. So lots of things. At eleven PM you should begin setup for the Three Kings ritual. In your chosen room, place one of your chairs facing north. This is going to be your throne. Place the other two chairs on either side of the throne facing towards it. These chairs belong to the queen and the fool, and they should be about an arm's distance from the throne. Secure one mirror onto the queen's chair and one on the fool's, again facing towards the throne. So facing toward you. Sitting on the throne you should be able to see your reflection in your peripherals without having to turn and look. Place the bucket and your chosen cup or mug in front of the throne just barely out of reach. You want them near enough in case you need them, but not so close that you might trip over them. Place the fan behind the throne and turn it on but not on high. Medium or low is good enough for the purposes of the ritual. But that fan needs to be fucking on when you leave this room. Turn the lights off and leave the room, making sure the door is left open and go to your room. Place your phone, candle, and lighter close to the bed so you can reach them without having to hunt for them. Make sure your phone is fully charged, like literally just leave it on the charger, and set an alarm for 3 30 AM. Take your chosen object of sentimental value and get into bed. Go fucking sleep.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely not. I literally would not be able to sleep.

SPEAKER_02

I wouldn't either. When your alarm goes off at 3 30, get out of bed, light the candle, and grab your phone. Keep your sentimental object on you at all times. You have three minutes to get to the room that you prepared for the three kings ritual. When you enter the room, close the door behind you. Your chosen partner in this ritual should be right outside the room and be as quiet as possible. This is important. If that fucking door is closed, do not go in that room, okay? And I'm just adding that because it's not right in front of me, but I it just yeah. Okay. Protecting your candle flame, take your place on your throne. Your body should block the wind from the fan behind you and keep it from burning out the candle. The idea here is that should you slump to the side during your time in the room, the candle flame will be blown out by the fan ending the ritual. Do not at any point look directly into the mirrors on either side of you. Also, do not stare directly into the candle flame. Assuming you've made it to your throne by three thirty three AM and all has gone according to plan, you may now begin the active part of the ritual by asking questions aloud. It may take time, but again, assuming you did everything correctly, you will soon be joined by the kings who will answer your questions. Reportedly, you will hear their voices, but remember, no matter how startled or how unsettling it may be, do not turn to the Look into the mirrors.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know how hard that is? Like literally. Yes. When I tell you whenever I come downstairs to like get a drink or something in my life. It's hard to not look at your reflection in the dark. Yes. Like the mirrors and windows and stuff.

SPEAKER_02

It's so hard. It's hard. Because I know you're not supposed to, and I want to. I don't, but I want to. So yeah. Um, this isn't a time to ask goofy questions, regardless of what you heard before. Um you have one hour with the kings to ask whatever you like. Be prepared for answers you may not like, and be prepared for questions as answers to your questions. Do not let the candle go out during your session. At 4 34, your friend on the other side of the door should call out to you that the game has ended. If you do not respond, they should try calling your phone instead. If and only if neither of these methods succeed in getting your attention, they should then enter the room and try to snap you out of the ritual by calling your name, but they should not under any circumstances touch you. If that doesn't work, they should use the mug to throw water from the bucket in your face. And I don't know if at the beginning it mentioned filling that bucket up with water, but make sure the bucket's filled up with water. If you find yourself in a semiconscious state and it's time to return, focus on the personal item you brought with you and let it guide you back to a waking state. It might sound silly, but if you've committed to the ritual, then it's not that big of a stretch for the imagination. As soon as you're aware that time for the ritual is up, you should stand up, blow out the candle, and leave the room to signify closure. If you do not wake up at 3 30 AM, do not continue. If you return to your prepared room to find the door closed, do not continue and leave the house taking everyone with you. Do not return before 6 AM. If the fan is turned off or you no longer or are no longer or are or is no longer working in some way, do not continue and leave the house taking everyone with you and do not return until 6 AM. Do not let your candle go out before the ritual is complete. And again, as stated above, do not look into the mirrors directly. It's said that what you see there may pull your consciousness inside and you become you can become trapped by the kings. Do not leave your throne before 4 34 AM, and do not go into this ritual acting acting cocky or disrespectful. It won't end well for you or your ritual partner. So those are the rules. That's the premise. Um so let's get into it. Let's get into what people have uh experienced. This really blew up like fifteen years ago or so, and I was digging for some stories. I have two stories that I know about, and then I have a mystery third story that I haven't read. I thought it would be fun. So here we go. Fourteen years ago. It's called My Three Kings Experience. It says, So let me start by saying I have never done anything like this before and had no idea what to expect, but I've always been more guts than brains, so I figured what the hell give it a shot. I don't have a basement in my apartment, so I had to go to my dad's house. I set everything up earlier the in the afternoon. Three wooden armless chairs, two big mirrors I borrowed from my stepmother, my power object was a watch for my grandfather. He said that he set this up earlier. You're not supposed to set up till eleven. Just saying. Oh, it literally says oh it says he said I did deviate from the setup, which you can read at. Please don't actually try this, but only just a little. I set the bucket and mug of water on the floor but had no idea what to do with it. I used a small box fan I placed several feet behind me on low, which was still rather strong. I used a three inch pillar candle on a plate for my candle. I got nervous and completely forgot my cell phone, so much for that backup. The basement itself is very large. It extends almost the entire length of the house and is unfinished, so it's bare cement and one room is framed but not yet drywalled. There are no windows and it still has that familiar basement feel. Anyway, I sat up like I said and tried to get some sleep on the couch while my girlfriend painted. My alarm woke me up at 3 30 and I lit my candle in darkness and made my way down the steps to the basement. She sat by the door at the top of the stairs and read while I went in. While I went down the stairs I was extremely nervous and excited and I forced myself to stare at my hands and the candle flickering between them, but nothing else. Immediately when I entered I felt like someone was in the room with me, a definite presence. I made my way to the throne, being very careful not to knock anything over or to look at the mirrors, and took my seat between the two mirrors and stared directly ahead into the darkness. I sat there very still for several minutes staring into the darkness and trying to concentrate while the candle flickered in my hands. The dim light made it feel like everything around me was jumping and moving, and I kept seeing my reflection dancing in the mirror in my peripheral. Shortly thereafter I started to feel as if the room had no walls. There was a sense of emptiness like I was in the middle of a never ending blackness. I sat there trying not to get freaked out by the feeling of openness when I started seeing movement in the mirrors on both sides of me. They moved even when I didn't, and when I shielded my eyes from the candle trying to eliminate the glowing under my face, they still moved. At this point I began to get really nervous and focused really hard trying to make sense of the things I was seeing in my peripheral and fighting the urge to just look. Focusing so hard on my peripheral and the steady hum of the fan behind me started to give me a headache. I was trying so hard to see without looking and I didn't notice at first when I started hearing the murmuring. It didn't sound like whispering. It sounded more like listening to conversation through a pillow, and I didn't know how long I heard it before I realized it wasn't just in my head. At first I thought I was imagining it and I leaned forward trying to hear better, because for some reason it made sense at the time. But the fan sounded like a hurricane, and I felt like I couldn't hear over it. I kept seeing movement in the glass as I was leaning forward and I resisted the urge to look. I asked if I was alone and the murmuring went silent. I waited several minutes in silence on the edge of my seat. I don't think I breathed. I resisted the urge to bolt up the stairs like a little kid. Who am I talking to? I asked. Someone who knows came from my left. Yourself came from my right. Both answers were clear as a bell. I seriously got the creeps and considered putting the candle out, but instead someone who knows what? I asked. I heard some more murmuring coming from both sides, both talking over each other and I couldn't make out anything that was said except why you're here. The movement in the glass seemed to increase on both sides. It seemed to not just be moving in but coming out of the glass toward me on my left, and I leaned away a little and almost tipped my chair over. I started hearing things around me in the room, breathing, ticking, a knock here and there, and while I was listening to it go on all around me, and feeling surrounded, they bickered with each other. Sometimes I wasn't even sure about what except that they were talking about me, and the one on my left knew things I had never told anyone. My doubts about faith, the mean things I'd said to friends in fights, etc and more so, things I wouldn't even repeat here. I felt like the one on my left was trying to like lure me from my chair. It wanted to show me things. At a certain point I felt like something was right behind me, and I felt like the conversation was getting further away from me. I leaned forward, straining to hear better and realized over a few tense minutes that the steady hum of the fan was gone. I don't remember when it went off. I didn't realize I didn't even notice except by the time I did realize it was getting hot and stuffy. When I noticed the fan was off, I panicked and jumped out of my seat and dropped the candle at which point it went out. I grabbed the candle and tried to relight it again because I figured it was bad voodoo for the candle to go out and I only had a few seconds to light it or something. Yeah. I I only had a few seconds to light it or something, but it wouldn't light, which freaked me out more. There was candle wax on the wick. I bolted for the light switch and cut it on and left the room. My girlfriend was sitting outside the door waiting for me and asked me what happened and said she had checked on me a couple times, knocking on the door and calling down to me and heard I'm fine. Aside from that, she never heard anything from inside the room. I'm not sure exactly what happened in there or if I'm crazy. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask and I'll answer as best I can, but that's my experience with the three kings. And that being said, I am fascinated and will certainly be trying this again soon, with maybe a little less nerves and a lot a little more preparation of what to expect. If anyone has anything else for me to try, send me the suggestion, I'll do it again. Why would they not actually have like a partner with him though? I don't understand why they wouldn't be prepared. Like they just went in, they're like, Yeah, I have the bucket of water, but I don't know why. Like, what do you mean?

SPEAKER_00

Like yeah, what if he like slipped into a freaking coma or something? Yeah, I said he, I don't know, did it say it was a guy?

SPEAKER_02

It is a it is a guy, yeah. Trigger warning for suicide. Um They did edit this and they put some more details in. It says uh here are some examples of what was said to me and not word for word, but as close as I can remember. A few years ago my best friend of over a decade killed himself, and this was the first thing it attacked me with. Person on the left, you let him die, it's your fault. Me, it's not my fault, I didn't know he was in that deep. Left because you never cared about anyone but yourself. Me, that's not true. Left, yes it is, but that's okay. Come on over here and see him now. Later on, the left said, You are going to hell, you are going to burn. Me, I have faith. Right, you can't lie to us. So the person on the right spoke at the end and said you can't lie to us. I don't really know, um I that is horrific, and I think that that's what they meant in the very beginning, uh or like in the original post where it said like oh like there are things that like I've never told anybody that they they know about like 'cause that person might have felt extreme guilt about somebody close to them um you know committing suicide and everything like that. Like that that's probably like they might not have ever spoken upon that before, so that is that is crazy. So this next one is you know, it's just called Three Kings Experience. Um this one was also fourteen years ago. This one does seem intense right at the end, but if you pay attention, they did so many things wrong. They did so many things wrong. So it reads I should have followed the rules. I should have been prepared for the kind of emotional damage that this has done to me. This game has literally changed the way I view our world. I've seen things that will haunt me for the rest of my life. I've seen things that have caused me to cry until the tears refused to be pulled out of my eyes, and the constant vomiting left me dry heaving on the floor in a miserable pile of human filth. Uh, their words, not mine. That's a really strange thing. Yeah, it it gets pretty intense. And again, this blew up like fifteen, fourteen years ago. So it's they said, when I first saw the please don't try this post yesterday, I couldn't call I I couldn't wait to call my friend Charles. I live in the Tornado Alley, so almost everyone I know has a basement in their house. Charles has an amazing amazing basement surround system hooked up to an Xbox on a giant flat screen TV. I've spent so many hours in there that I knew the layout of the basement almost better than my own home. When I dialed him, I asked him if he had seen the post on No Sleep. He said yeah, of course I've seen it. There's no fucking way I'm messing with that spirit shit though. I told him not to be such a pussy and that I was coming over to his house that that night. Um I'm not gonna read what they say next because it's not appropriate. Even for this podcast.

SPEAKER_00

So Damn, okay.

SPEAKER_02

So they bantered for a sec and then um laughed. He decided or that they decided that he would bring the candle and lighter, cell phone, and a little plastic toy of Dora the Explorer, which was his power object. He said the reason it was my power object is very personal, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't ask. He would simply supply nope, he would supply the fan, the mirrors, the chairs, and the water. I got to his house around six PM. His mother had made chicken and spaghetti for us, the only two things she really knows how to make, which fucking damn, like what'd she do to you? But um it says we shoveled the food down our throats as fast as we could and made a beeline straight for his basement. It took us about fifteen minutes to set everything up perfectly. He made sure that the mirrors were positioned so I could barely see them in my peripherals, and that the water, which was in a pretty big pot, was just out of reach. We looked at the we looked at our creation and for the weirdest reason I felt like God. I felt like I was a holy being. No, felt as if I were the holy being. I had control over everything and everyone, I could kill if I wanted, I could rain fire from the heavens and nobody could stop me, but as soon as the feeling had come, it vanished. I felt ashamed for thinking I had and thinking as I had, and for a few moments I had second thoughts about going through with this. I snapped back into reality when my friend nudged me and handed me a controller. Time for some call of duty, yeah, I know. Before I knew it it was twelve. My friend looked at me and told me I was supposed to get some rest before we went through with it. I laid down on the couch, set the alarm on my phone for three hundred thirty, closed my eyes, and waited for sweet sleep to wrap me in its arms. I had no trouble falling asleep, but right as I drifted into unconsciousness, I felt like I was got again. My alarm woke me up at three thirty. My friend had continued playing cod while I slept, and the alarm had made him jump. Jesus, dude, that scared the shit out of me. I laughed at him, but my stomach was feeling all naughty as it usually does before a big race. Except with the naughty feeling, there was a feeling in my heart. My chest felt like it was being pressed down on by an elephant, and my heart had to press as hard as it could to just get the blood back into my body. I got up slowly as my friend turned on the TV and the light off the TV and the lights. I turned on the fan and proceeded to sit on my throne. Again, so many things going wrong with this. That fan is supposed to be on already, I can't The friend is not supposed to be in the room either. My friend grabbed my shoulders and looked me in the eye. He was being serious. Dude, if anything happens, scream for me, for real. I told him I would, and that nothing would happen anyway. He patted me on the shoulder roughly, closed the door, and plunged me into darkness and silence. I lit the candle, I was shaking and I hadn't even noticed it. That candle was supposed to be lit when he walked to the room. That's what I was just about to say. It's it's ridiculous like how many things like went very wrong here. The first forty five minutes were the longest of my life. I sat there in complete silence, looking straight ahead with nothing but my reflections slightly showing in my peripherals, the candle flickering right below my sight, and the fan blowing on my back. I would occasionally stroke the door of the exploratory that was in my pocket right next to my cell phone to be reassured that I wasn't alone. My power object would save me if it came to it. The original post said that I might hear whispers, and that it might tip me off to another presence in the room. What I heard was my own voice, amplified and distorted in the slightest way. It came from the left. Wake up. I sat perfectly still. I can't tell you why I didn't high tail the fuck out of there. I just sat perfectly still. The reflection of my left still showed movement. It was not me. I can't tell you exactly how long I sat there reeling in shock at what I had just heard and seen. My arms hung to my sides. When it came, the voice to my right was much softer, gentler. Wake up. I was able to respond to this kind of being. I am awake. My own voice sounded small. I felt like nothing. Good, the voice crooned. You know that I love you, right? I was too shocked to answer. This being loved me. I was so small and insignificant, but it loved me. The voice to my left started to speak now, not as loud as before, but still much louder than the one who loved me. Do you wish to join me? I know who you are. The voice then told me my name, my aspirations, my strengths, my weaknesses. The movements in the mirror grew faster the more he saw that I knew he was all knowing. The voice to the right yelled out the voice to the left. The voice to the right told the voice to the left to stop, and it did. I thanked the voice to the right, and I thanked that I called it my God. I felt someone stroking my cheek. I felt good. I wanted to look at the right and embrace my God. The voice to the left told me not to. I ignored him. Come, embrace me, said the voice to the right. I turned and looked. I saw God. I saw the past and future and present. I saw the world, I saw different worlds, I saw my loved ones die and strangers I didn't know rise out of the dirt. I saw the earth on fire, I saw the murder of millions. I saw the masses praying to the one who I now embraced, and I saw the hatred that my God showed towards the masses. I saw that my God had forsaken us, I saw that my God would never come to see us again. While I saw these things, I heard God say to me, You will die, I will not lead you. Once you have set everything aflame, you must light yourself on fire. The last thing I remember is the candle blowing out. I passed out, I woke up on the floor with my friend freaking out. The mirrors had shattered and I was bleeding. I remembered all that I had seen and heard, and I started to cry. I didn't care that my friend was watching. I cried and pulled up my hair and took off my shirt. I went home and I still haven't told him anything. I needed to write it all down. This is my true story. Don't look into the mirrors. Again, so many things went wrong here. When I heard the mirror shatter, I kind of was like Is this like a uh uh uh this didn't really happen thing? I don't know though. Um you're not supposed to look in the mirrors. We already discussed a lot of the things that went wrong. Um they did elaborate on the end of the world thing. They responded to another Redditor and they said, honestly, if I had to put a date on it, I would say it was about 150 to 200 years from now. It happened after everyone that you or I ha ever has known has died. The earth didn't look anything like it does now. There was hardly any green. Everyone lived in dilapidated huts or shacks and were wearing modernish looking clothing. Nope, modernish looking clothes. Not that the clothes were holding together at all. The earth was actually on fire. It was war torn. I have the suspicion that society broke down, maybe because of lack of resources. I saw giant groups of people living on the wolf I saw giant groups of people living around the wolf, the largest being maybe two thousand people all praying to my god. I'm getting goosebumps right now just thinking about it. As for the different worlds, I'm not sure if they were in different dimensions or different universes or whatever. I saw civilization. Before I could see anything else, my god made me watch my loved ones die. I wouldn't worry too much of it. I've talked with people who say that my god was probably very was probably the joker in this situation. I'm going to try to believe that with all my heart. If you need anything else cleared up, just ask me. I'm not the best of storytellers, so I'm sorry if there was any confusion. I have heard that like the one like one of them is the fool and then the other is like the queen, and the queen is typically like the really nice one. The fool is the one that like really fucks with you. So, um, take that as you will. I mean, if you do this, just don't look in the fucking mirrors, man. You're not supposed to look in the mirrors. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I don't know if that one freaks me out. Heavy. It was very heavy. I didn't feel that way when I was reading it in my head. By reading it out loud, I was like, oof, this is rough.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. So I do have one last story. It's not too long. Um, I did not read this though. This is completely I'm I'm I'm walking in blind. I thought it would be fun. But nonetheless, it's called Three Kings, so I think we're on the right track.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, let's roll.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. I know it's a bit late for this, but there's good reason in delaying this posting. I'm scared of what will happen if I return home. I've never been one for superstition or ghosts or spirits or anything like that. I'm an atheist. I've never believed in any kind of afterlife, good or bad. After the experience I had with my three kings experiment, my skepticism has been slightly jarred. I'm writing this from my sister in law's apartment. I told her that my mom and I had a big fight and she kicked me out of the house. I never mentioned the three kings thing to her, I guess to protect her from something. I'm not exactly sure yet. Right now it's one AM, roughly nineteen hours after the ritual and I'm about to go to sleep. I think I'll return home tomorrow in the daylight when it's not so pitch black, and I'll clean up my basement. My mom is awake currently and I thought it'd be a good time to do the three kings ritual. I called my girlfriend to ask if she wanted to stay over for the night, and beforehand I showed her the posting on no sleep. She thought it was pretty cool and said she would be my spotter. She came over with some popcorn and a death note DVD, and I told her that day to make sure I was awoken awake awoken, sorry, to make sure I was awake at exactly three thirty AM. She asked if I needed any help setting up downstairs and I told her I didn't want her to intervene or mess up the ritual. Rude. My basement is rather large and unfinished, running the length of the whole house and roughly ten feet high walls. There are two small windows where the ceiling meets the wall, so I got some newspaper and duct taped them so no outside light would shine through. When I turned the lights off, I didn't even see my hand in front of my face, so that was good. Eleven PM rolled around. I brought down three chairs and two large mirrors, one from my sister's room and one from my mom's room, and a floor fan I have in my room. My girlfriend filled a bucket with water and gave me a glass mug and I placed it in front of the throne. The objects were placed directly in the center of the room facing the bare wall directly opposite from the stairs. I ran an extension cable from the far left to directly behind the throne, plugged the fan in and set it on low. My altar was complete. I stood back and looked at it, I felt a slight Nope. I felt a slight twinge of dread creep over me. Suddenly I felt afraid and I didn't know if I wanted to go through with it, but at the same time I didn't want to go. Be chicken shit and was out. I was extremely curious to see what would transpire that night and I didn't want to see my efforts go to waste. So I turned the lights off in the basement, went back upstairs, and went to bed. I wore only a pair of shorts. My cell phone was in my right pocket, and in my left pocket was my Gigi, a blanket I've had since the very day I was born. Sorry, I didn't mean to like s like hesitate. I didn't know if it was Gigi or Gigi, but I think it's Gigi.

SPEAKER_00

It's it's probably is a G I G I. It's G E E E G E E. Oh, probably Gigi, but usually it's not G I G I from my experience. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Right. It's not much of a blanket anymore as much as it is a tattered rag, but when I feel stressed out or afraid, I bring it to my lips and the bad feelings go away. I figured this would make a reasonable power item. I'd say so. The candle I used was a blueberry pie Yankee candle in a jar that I gifted my mom for Mother's Day. I set it beside me on the nightstand with a long black barbecue lighter before setting my alarm to go off at three thirty. I got under the covers and turned off the light. I still couldn't shake the feeling of dread after knowing what lie what lies in wait for me in the basement. Getting to sleep was slightly troublesome, but with a little effort I creeped into a peaceful rum cycle after fifteen minutes or so. Honestly, so far it seems like they're doing everything right. Set up at eleven, door was open, I think. Yeah. Yeah, I think the door was open. Mirror's good, bucket of water down there, alarm set. Okay. I woke exactly at three thirty AM with my girlfriend standing over me asking if I was ready. Fuck that, I'd be like bitch get out of here. I nodded wordlessly, immediately snatching the candle and the lighter from the bedside table and lit it. I whispered, remember, come and check on me at four thirty four, no matter what you hear, do not go down there. She nodded and I walked downstairs into the kitchen, around the corner and opened the basement door. Oh wait Oh no. That door was supposed to be open. Oh no. I descended into blackness and shut the door behind me. Fuck. Walking up to the throne without bumping into anything was a bit of a chore, seeing as only seeing as the only light present down there was the dim glow of my Yankee candle, but I managed to find my seat on the throne without glancing into either of the mirrors by accident. I held the candle at my navel and took a silent deep breath, and concentrated on the blackness before me. I had to remind myself several times that there was nothing in front of me but a blank wall, nothing else. But it became harder to realize that after my mind began to wander, the candle's flame flickered and danced in the darkness and began casting strange shadows on the floor and the ceiling. It reminded me of one episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark, where a kid had a torch in a dark dungeon and his shadow came alive and attacked him. I tried not to think of anything too superficial. After what seemed like thirty seconds I could start think seeing things to my peripheral vision. This is when things began to get a little weird. Trying to describe what I could see out of the corners of my eyes would be like trying to remember a dream that you can only recall as being sound asleep in the ether of blackness.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, my stomach is like knots right now listening to sound why. Yeah, yeah. Just like listening is like giving me like n I'm nervous, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

I am start I'm I'm noticing my body is starting to tense up. It's difficult to remember. It's difficult to remember exactly, but what's important here is that what I felt but what's important here is about what I felt, not exactly what I saw. The feeling to my left was not necessarily evil. It was hungry. It desired something so greatly that the one and only thing and so much it could only my god, I'm so sorry. This is what happens when I don't read. It desired something so greatly that only that one thing and so much of it could only sate it. It would not stop hungering until it had consumed its fill. It was not a hunger for food or drink, or even a material thing. I can't say exactly and I still don't know what it desired, but I felt almost sorry for it, and I wanted to help it somehow. But I tried reminding myself that it was just a hallucination. I've heard of people hallucinating sounds, sights, smells, and touches, but emotions? It was a strange sensation and I wanted to ask what it wanted. But somehow I knew if I asked it a question it wouldn't answer. The sensation on my right was that of bliss, and I mean bliss like the feeling of falling in love or winning something you've desired greatly or knowing that your future is secure. The idea of the spectrum was so joyous and gleeful that I wanted to jump into the mirror into that world of paradise and posity, so I would no longer be subjected to the strains and pains, strains and pains of normal relative reality. Beyond that gateway was nirvana. I was torn between two ends of a spectrum. On the left was hunger, suffering, desire, and need. On the right was sublime achievement, enlightenment, and clarity. These things I thought were pillars of human existence. Without any of these there would be no reason, choice, instinct or otherwise, just raw subconscious existence. I felt my skin beginning to melt off, but not in a painful way. It felt cleansing, as if I was shedding an exoskeleton, revealing a fresh, tender layer of flesh beneath. I could feel my old skin leaving my body and being sucked into the void of that which was the negative spectrum, the spectrum of thirst and hunger. I felt warm sorry, I got real southern. I felt warm on the inside. The candle was the threshold between myself and a primal realm of higher understanding and perception. Then I could feel the onset of dread approaching again. It was subtle, but it grew with intensity as I focused on my breathing. I could hear a faint buzzing in my ears and the hairs on my arms and back of my neck stood up. I felt a chill course through my body and I could feel my heart rate pick up a bit. I attributed it to staring off into the darkness for so long, but I felt something was wrong here. The spectrum was shifting. I felt the positive energy leave, and it was replaced with wanting. Now there was only negativity here. There was no spectrum, there was no nirvana, it was only suffering. I felt my heart speeding in my chest. I felt as if great waves of super hot water were crashing over me from either side, knocking me around like a helpless helpless fish in a vast violent ocean. The buzzing became a loud droning as if a million wasps were invading my eardrumps and stinging my brain in a fury. I felt hot and I began to hyperventilate my power item. I needed my power item. The stress and suffering was too much. I reached into my pocket, and nothing was there. How could I have forgotten my power item? My Gigi. Had I misplaced it before I went to bed? This was all wrong. I felt helpless, desperate even. I was powerless in this situation. Whatever energy or force or spirit grabbing hold of me had won, I tried to scream, but nothing but a faint raspy moan escaped my lungs. I had to get out, I wanted out. In an attempt to shatter the bond, I s in an attempt to shatter the bond, I swung to my right. For any semblance of sublime or positivity that remained in this once a gateway to paradisium and hopefulness, I saw myself, but I did not look like myself. I felt my eyes were wide open, but in this mirror I saw myself with my hands clasped over my eyes, shielding them from what gazed back from reality. I was shielding myself from myself. I threw the candle hard, I shattered the mirror, I refused to accept this lie. I wanted to show this force that I was in control of my own existence, that I was not simply a fish in a vast ocean. I felt such great overwhelming emotion that I began to cry. I turned around, walked from the altar, and turned the lights on. I saw the shattered remnants of the candle and the mirror on the right, but the mirror on the left had long ago fallen over and shattered on the floor. How had I not heard it? This was when my girlfriend came storming down the basement stairs. She took me in her arms and whispered, It's okay, it's okay, I'm here, it's over, it's four hundred thirty four, over and over. I wanted to get out. I told her she needed to leave, I needed to drive her home, I need I had to leave this house, I wanted to stay gone forever. As I finish this I have to tell you that three kings is not really something you should toy around with. What I felt and what I saw was real, and I wish it was fake, but it's not. I felt such raw primal energies down there that I can't ignore the fact that I experienced them firsthand. It's now two hundred eighteen in the morning, and I should be getting to bed. I'll return to my house tomorrow to clean up the basement. At this point, explaining to my mom and sister why both of their mirrors are broken will be the least of my worries. Thanks for reading.

SPEAKER_00

Sheesh.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't really not painful but Yeah, um I don't really know what to say about that. I mean, the paranormal games are straight up fucking rituals, so you just gotta be careful with what you go into. But I do have this. Yeah, the door needs to be open. Um light the fucking candle. Like I would be like reading those rules like a fucking playbook, man. Like I'm not messing around, but I think that this one, although like the experiences are scary and whatnot, but I do think this is more mellow of the next ones I'm going to do. Like this one, um, I yeah, embrace it because it's gonna get horrific, I think. So my power went out, and that was really weird and really spooky-ooky, but it's fine because the files are still here. So that's all that's.

SPEAKER_00

And it was really fucking scary, just so you know. Because you're like talking to me and then you're you just glitched and weren't.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I was like breaking out. I know I was bugging. Uh we ready to spin the wheel? I think that's everything I had.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, am I spinning the wheel? I can't remember this episode. You spin the wheel. Spin the wheel. Okay, I thought so.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, spin in, spin and click click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click. We got mythical creatures.
