Woodgrove High School Chestnut Trees
In this month’s School Spirit podcast, Renee Dawson, Director of Family and Community Engagement, speaks with Woodgrove High School biology teacher Scott Fortney and four of his students, Maggie Bugaj, Cooper Curtis, Andrew Dean and Addie McCullers, about a recent classroom project to help restore the American chestnut tree. The students share how this hands-on activity taught them about the role of the keystone species as well as some other fundamental science and ecology lessons.
