SPEAKER_03

Coming to you live from Truk Norris Twisted Eats in Ellisville, Missouri, it's Buffalo Buffalo.

SPEAKER_00

It's Buffalo, Buffalo, Buffalo, Buffalo, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Welcome to Buffalo Buffalo. My name is Jerry, and once again, they're here. It's Stephanie, Peike, and Jeff.

SPEAKER_06

You don't seem very excited. So I'm so happy about that.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we are recording a day early because Pike has a concert to uh play, attend, I'll be sure. Both. Pake's got a concert. Come and see him.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But playing and attending. I'm playing. I'll be on stage and then I'll run down and try to catch myself for a little bit. It's tough.

SPEAKER_03

You have to run really fast when you do that. So how is everybody today?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I'm doing alright. It's uh we're we're in deep in allergy season now, so that's that's fun. It's kind of that lovely balancing act between, you know, do I open my window and suffer or keep my window closed and suffer?

SPEAKER_01

So those are two great options, Jeff.

SPEAKER_06

I I'm good. I came straight from a friend's birthday dinner at BJ's to be here, so I'm full of steak and zuokie.

SPEAKER_01

That's great. Well, I registered my car today. I registered my car today.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And what what what party did it register as?

SPEAKER_01

It is uh a registered independent.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, nice.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Very proud.

SPEAKER_04

So your car votes on the issues, not not based on party lines. That's that's nice figure.

SPEAKER_06

Green party. Her car's a huge fan of Jill Stein.

SPEAKER_04

Is Jill Stein still running? I don't think so. I had no idea for Green Party now. But yeah. Oh my gosh. Anyways. Yes. Daphne's car is now registered.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, as much as as uh, and I didn't know, it's like, would it register to get a uh uh sunroof? Is it permitted you get that sunroof exemption?

SPEAKER_04

Jerry is fascinated with the sunroof. It's like every time you talk about your car, he asks about the sunroof.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'll tell you. If you guys come to Maine, you can ride in my car and we'll open the sunroof so you can see that it's there.

SPEAKER_02

Wow. Excellent.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I found the other day when I was driving, I found the button to open it.

SPEAKER_04

Nice. It's under the sun when you want to open it. It's really a weird place for it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's not. It's up with the lights, and so I was trying to turn the the light in the car on so I could find something, and it just went.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, okay. Um it's a little too cold for that still here. It's not uh it's definitely not summer yet.

SPEAKER_06

So put those tires away. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

I have to do that by the end of the month. I have to go and have those swapped out because you can only have studded tires through the end of April, and then they have to because after April, the tire breeding season is done.

SPEAKER_04

Right. Right. You let the tires go out to stud. It's nice of you. Create some baby tires.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's where they get the the wheels for hot wheels and matchbox tires. Is from the studded tires.

SPEAKER_06

Yes. It's a whole industry. Tire farms are the rage right now.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh. How do you how else do you expect me to pay my car payment? Like, I have to do this.

SPEAKER_05

We gotta get those stud fees. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I've never had a car that had studded tires. I've never had an all-wheel drive car. I've never had a car with a sunroof or heated seats or a backup camera or Bluetooth. Like I living in a computer generated car, it feels like.

SPEAKER_04

It's computer generated. It's not actually there.

SPEAKER_03

It's an AI car. She has a she has Future Shuck.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, yeah. I mean, I'm sure there are lots of other newer bells and whistles that people have now that I'll get on my next car type.

SPEAKER_06

Literal bells and whistles, I've I've seen. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I was just happy, I will tell you this. I was just happy that when I went to the city hall to register my car, that they didn't say, and now you must go down to the DMV because I did not want to go down there at all. Oh god. And I know that there are like situations where that's what you have to do. Now, if I wasn't transferring my plates over, I would have had to go to the DMV.

SPEAKER_04

If you needed to get new new plates, or I'm just like, nope, these ones. It's been a while since I've been at the DMV.

SPEAKER_01

But they're cool on this car because I'm not not doing that.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, one thing I will give our California DMV, they allow you to make a make appointments and you get through a bit faster.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh we can it only takes three hours instead of four. It's really helpful.

SPEAKER_01

We can do that here. And if I knew I was buying a car and I needed to get plates, I would have to schedule my appointment three months prior. Like I'd have to schedule it like in December for an April appointment. Yeah, that's what you have to do. Because I I went to get my driver's license replaced and it they had a three-month wait. And so I had to actually go and sit there.

SPEAKER_04

For three months. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, wow.

SPEAKER_03

You walked right into that one.

SPEAKER_04

I love it. You literally said that. You literally said it's a three-month wait, and so I had to sit there.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_04

Like there wasn't any misunderstanding there. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

No, no. Oh no. I know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The fact that you all responded immediately.

SPEAKER_05

Immediately, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. Yeah, and that's how it is here at Buffalo Buffalo.

SPEAKER_06

In Maine? You've got to get a better system than that. People have got stuff to do. You can't be sitting in a waiting room for three months. Are there like tents and stuff set up?

SPEAKER_01

No, but we have a Walgreens. There's a Walgreens next door, so I can go over and get like snacks if I need to.

SPEAKER_06

Nice. Live off of Pringles for three months.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Energy bars, um, you know, monster drinks. Because you have to stay awake. Like you can't go to sleep because they might call your number.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I'm so Because it's not like in any like in order like kind of thing. They just pick a number. It's actually they do like with a bingo ball like rolling. It's got all the different numbers in it. So you never know when yours is coming up.

SPEAKER_04

Honestly, it's can be difficult. I don't know how it is in Maine or Texas, but in California, it's like it's all based on like what window you're going to. Each window has its own letter. And so you get something like you know G40, and you go, oh, they're on, you know, G38. Well, that's great. But the next 75 ones that they're calling are not G's. Yeah. You know?

SPEAKER_06

Somebody's had to have yelled out bingo in that place at some point. They're calling numbers.

SPEAKER_01

When I went to Walgreens to get snacks.

SPEAKER_04

I have no idea when that is, but I will I will do that.

SPEAKER_01

When I went to Walgreens to get snacks, the people that were ahead of me, I just said, do not let them move past my number. I'm literally going to Walgreens to get something so I don't pass out from hunger.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Because if they call my number and I'm not here, stall. Fight somebody. I don't know. Start a fire. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I was there not for three months. Really, I was there for like four hours. And you're basically friends with the people that are there, and you're happy when they get called up. You're just like, we're one step closer.

SPEAKER_06

Price is right where everybody come on down. They finally moved on to the other side.

SPEAKER_01

It's solidarity. Like, it's like, okay, yes, I get it. People there feel your pain of waiting.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

And so I was there and I got my driver's license renewed, and they're like, Well, would you like the real ID?

SPEAKER_04

And I'm like, uh You do need it.

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't. I have a passport.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, you've got a passport. That's right. You need it's real ID or passport. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Right. But I did get the I did get it because I thought I'm already here and I'm not coming back here to wait for four hours or months.

SPEAKER_06

So no, we're gonna do this now. Pulled at random, so you never know how long it's gonna be.

SPEAKER_01

Nope. It's like it's like a big Home Depot where people are wandering and yelling to try to get someone to help them and nobody comes. And then you think here's the thing too. You get you know you're close, and the window's gonna call you, and they go to lunch.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. And there's nobody who comes to that window to replace them. It's just like they'll be back.

SPEAKER_01

It's like, okay.

SPEAKER_06

Um unlike a Home Depot, they don't have a hot dog cart in the parking lot because that would make it unfortunately easier.

SPEAKER_01

They really should get a food truck there.

SPEAKER_04

They really should. I mean, people would like legitimately you could clean up. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

If they did a rotating food truck thing where it was like, you know, whatever, five different trucks, you know, that came in once a week kind of thing. Yes. Like so awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Think of worker burnout and appreciation. Like, people would be happy. The people that work there would be excited to go get a burrito or a corndog or whatever. Like they could go, look, they could bring in ice cream on Fridays. I mean, people would be so happy for that.

SPEAKER_04

Be like, I get to go to the DMV.

SPEAKER_01

No, no one has ever said that. I can't imagine.

SPEAKER_04

They had ice cream there. Mom, can we go to the DMV for ice cream?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, these are the same parents who can't stand it when the ice cream truck drives around and you hear it, and they're just like, I don't want my kids to hear it. They're gonna watch it.

SPEAKER_04

I have heard so many stories from people who are like, yeah, my parents taught me that when the ice cream truck plays music, that means it's out of ice cream.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I mean not falling for that foolishness.

SPEAKER_04

My nieces, but fall for that.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_04

When you're three and you actually believe that your parents know how the world works, you know, they would never lure me astray with lies.

SPEAKER_03

Or your parents own a grocery store with a box of uh with an entire freezer box full of ice cream. So that point that matters rendered pointless.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

But it's more fun. No, you can't have the truck, Jerry. We have ice cream at work.

SPEAKER_01

But it's more fun. Tell me, am I wrong? It's more fun when it comes from the ice cream truck.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely. Yep. Well, one thing, uh, one thing I do remember getting off, you know, the the the times, you know, my mother told me, if you want something off that ice cream truck, you know, you pay for it yourself.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's that's perfectly fair. No, I I had I had to work and then salary. Yeah. I had salary.

SPEAKER_01

So you had salary? Jerry, celery's not ice cream.

SPEAKER_04

No, so he got paid in salary. Salary. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I don't think that the ice cream truck would accept celery as payment.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. The celery truck would. Maybe.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

We already know that makes no sense. We already have that. We don't need more.

SPEAKER_06

You might be able to pay them in peanut butter.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. There you go. Oh gosh. Have you ever had fresh ground peanut butter?

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's good.

SPEAKER_06

Just picked it up right off the ground.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, pick it up right off the ground, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Um yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

First time I ever had Lucas brand like anything was on an ice cream truck.

SPEAKER_01

Lucas. Well, let me tell you, Lucas here is a tree removal company, and I don't think they make ice cream.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah. They I they had ice cream with bark. It was great.

SPEAKER_04

Lucas here is the guy who made Star Wars.

SPEAKER_06

No, it's it's like like Chamoi, the the like kind of like tamarindy, chili, spicy like stuff you put on candy. They had like ice cream that had that in it. It's like tahine. Yeah, it's very tahine-like.

SPEAKER_04

I've never heard of it.

SPEAKER_06

But they make a lot of candies that are coated in stuff, is Lucas.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Oh, okay. Okay. I probably have seen them. I always go past that section where I'm just like I I don't want things covered in tahine and chamois.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's a little yeah, this is uh this is my uh vitamin supplement bottle, but it's about uh a little can about yay big. A little yellow can.

SPEAKER_06

So chamoy peach rings are a great, great thing, great in invention.

SPEAKER_04

You know what? If somebody has them and offers me one, I will absolutely have it. But I'm not going to buy a bag of them.

SPEAKER_06

Alright, we'll you know you're coming, you're coming to Fort Worth. I am at the end of this year. We can buy them at Bucky's, they got Chamoy gummy bears and chamoy peach rings. We'll have to we'll have to do that. Okay. All right.

SPEAKER_04

Sounds good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So uh when are you all you're going to Fort Worth at the end of the year for a music? October. October. Yeah, and I and I sadly am not going.

SPEAKER_05

Sorry. No. There's still time.

SPEAKER_01

No, and Jerry, you know what? I was thinking about that. And I was thinking about the fact that Jerry may not like the music that the bands play.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, he definitely would not like the music.

SPEAKER_01

But you could always come over. I mean, because the festival's one day, right? Like it's it's that Saturday. We've talked about we're gonna go early and like have like a long weeks there. Yeah, yeah, we are. Um Jerry, you can always come over and hang out with us, you know. I probably could. You could. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And that's in Colorado? Yeah, Colorado Fort. I'm sorry, my brain's at Fort Collins.

SPEAKER_01

Fort Collins. No, Fort Worth.

SPEAKER_04

Fort Lauderdale, Texas?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. This this I know that you always say to me when I say, well, this is going off the rails, that when is it not going off the rails? But for some reason, I feel like it is especially going way off tonight.

SPEAKER_03

Statement before recording definitely made me go off the rails.

SPEAKER_01

What was that about, Jerry? What was that about?

SPEAKER_06

We will not speak of that one.

SPEAKER_03

We will not speak of that.

SPEAKER_04

It's too hard to bring that back in without it just sounding yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_04

The moment passed.

SPEAKER_01

I know. It's too bad. Um, I was just looking through our text message thread to see if there was anything ridiculous that happened over the past week.

SPEAKER_04

No, never. It's been very quiet and very normal. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh. Oh, yeah. Jerry asked me when I said I registered my car. He said, Why did you turn it into a cash register? I didn't know cash registers could have summer tires.

SPEAKER_04

Which is such a stretch. I know. It is. So I just had to save it and bring it back to like reality with the register to vote. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. And I said Jerry Jerry tries a lot of the like, I misheard something, but it doesn't work as well when it's over text. Because like when you like the concert you mentioned I'm going to was like, yeah, Pake's going to go see the floor mat. And he's like, why is he going to get floor mats? And I want to respond, like, Jerry, is that the word she typed? Because you can see it right there.

SPEAKER_01

Like And I said, Jerry.

SPEAKER_04

Let little things like details get in the way of the comments.

SPEAKER_01

No, he doesn't. And I just with that, I and now I try to come up with something like smart alechie or whatever to say because it's like fluomance. How do you even no, it's because I need them for my car. They didn't come with them, and I only trust Peg to uh to pick them out for me. And so he's taking care of that tomorrow.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, very thoughtful of you, Peg. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It is. I really need someone to know. I need to have someone I can trust when it comes to you know car things because I'm I'm a woman. And everyone knows that women don't know anything about cars.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. No.

SPEAKER_01

Please tell me.

SPEAKER_03

No, no. I I disagree with that statement, but I I understand the sarcasm.

SPEAKER_04

Well, so does Marissa Tomei.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

When I bought- I've watched that recently, the the Marissa Tomei, my cousin Vinny scene. Oh, I love that scene. It's like I just have to watch this again. I just love it.

SPEAKER_01

It's a work of art.

SPEAKER_03

It's a work of art. What, the the scene or Marissa Tomei?

unknown

The scene is.

SPEAKER_03

I mean porque no los dos. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. I will have two quick mentions and then we'll get to the game if that's okay. Sure. My my one pic the first picture was Desmond. My the new kitty I will be bringing home this Saturday.

SPEAKER_04

Congratulations.

SPEAKER_03

Desmond is a very sweet boy.

SPEAKER_01

Now, would you explain to the class why his name is Desmond? Because it's kind of interesting.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

No, because his last name, you know, they they gave him a name of surname.

SPEAKER_06

He's a very fancy cat.

SPEAKER_03

No, he's he's got a um his initial name at the shelter is Firo Lays.

SPEAKER_06

Frito Lays?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Firo.

SPEAKER_06

Fredo Frito Lays.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Frito Lace. F-I-R-U-L-A-I-S or something like that. And and his uh he's they also have him as is uh aka Tutu, like a T-U-T-U. And I was thinking, well, there's used to be the bishop, the South African bishop named Desmond Tutu.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that's exactly why I came up with that, too.

SPEAKER_03

No, but Desmond is also the name of my favorite lost character.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

That's you know what? When we got Cassidy, her name was Annabelle. And uh we named her Cassidy for multiple reasons. One is because it's Chris's favorite wrestler on AEW is Orange Cassidy, and my favorite character on Preacher is Cassidy. So it's cool to have multiple reasons.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and then the second picture was from later that day, a much less pleasant subject. Is I filled I filled up my truck with gas.

SPEAKER_04

Oh god, yes.

SPEAKER_03

And the total on that was uh nearly 17 gallons of gas, but six dollars a gallon almost. The total was$100.85. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's uh depending where you go here. Um, but uh I mean if you go to just like the Chevron or Shell or whatever, it's like$6.29 right now.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, I saw a Chevron. You know, I usually check a couple, you know, uh when I was coming home, um, I I uh drove by one store that that that uh market had six forty-five, and I said, oh hell no.

SPEAKER_06

Nope.

SPEAKER_03

So I drove down here and I said, looked at it just under six, I was like, done.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm not sure what to do with all the cheap gas.

SPEAKER_06

Drink it.

SPEAKER_04

Drink all of it. Absolutely, should just drink it. Sounds like a good idea to me.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And I was gonna say, Daphne, there's probably more people in my county than there are in your entire state.

SPEAKER_04

I feel like there's more people in your city than in the entire city.

SPEAKER_01

How many people live in your city, Jerry?

SPEAKER_03

Uh the entire city. Uh it's like the entire metro area, let's see, about eight hundred thousand?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we have we have at least twice that, but close.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well I'll I'll check it later. So we'll we'll follow up on this. So who is ready for a game?

SPEAKER_01

Jerry, I don't know if I'm ready for this game because you have you've not sold it well to us, I don't feel.

SPEAKER_03

Nah, it's easy, more or less.

SPEAKER_04

Let me see. What was the what was the line that he used? Um my game tonight will either be great or flictionary level bad. It's a 50-50.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I am so looking forward to this, even if it's ter honestly, especially if it's terrible.

SPEAKER_03

No, well, it's it's it is some, you know, there are some stupid hard uh clues in here. But I was when I was developing our uh plans that we're gonna turn into the state in a couple weeks.

SPEAKER_06

For this date? For this podcast?

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_01

The state is reviewing it, Paige.

SPEAKER_06

Oh no.

SPEAKER_01

The state of California is going to be reviewing our games in the future, like all of our future games. So we have to be like more prepared. Yeah. They've taken an active interest in our podcast.

SPEAKER_04

Governor Newsom, please keep up the trolling.

SPEAKER_01

You know he is, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Okay, but because of like uh uh concerns for space uh on the page, and so we abbreviate a lot of stuff. So we have you know just all these all these abbreviations and uh all the abbreviations are on the call-outs, and then there says abbreviations in the upper left-hand corner. We are going to play abbreviations.

SPEAKER_01

Great.

SPEAKER_02

Oh god.

SPEAKER_03

Oh god.

SPEAKER_01

Um and we need to have our whiteboards, right?

SPEAKER_03

Uh for steals, yes.

SPEAKER_01

So Okay, so I need to get something to wipe my whiteboard off with because I didn't come prepared. So give me just a moment.

SPEAKER_03

So you were not ready to be ready.

SPEAKER_01

I was ready to be ready. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Go ahead. We'll just vamp in the interim.

SPEAKER_04

We'll we'll just talk about Daphne while she's gone. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

And that's what I really think about her. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. No, I already know what you think about me.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You can pretend that you like me. I know you don't.

SPEAKER_03

Daphne, you're the foundation of this of this podcast. Pake is the mascara of this podcast. I'm just the blush because I you know turn red. True. It's true. So Jeff is the toner? Sure, why not? If if you could see, you know, if the listeners could see the smirk and the um Daphne's face in her disdain. Okay, so uh break out your random number generators, one to sixty-two.

SPEAKER_01

Fucking sixty-two, Jerry? Are you serious?

SPEAKER_04

I I I cut it down. Oh, I love it. I love it, Jerry.

SPEAKER_01

Jerry.

SPEAKER_04

I cut it down. It was six hundred and twenty. He cut off the zero. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No. That is too many to get through.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, we're not getting too many to get through. So that's why we're gonna do that.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not keeping track, so Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I'm keeping track. It's right in front of me.

SPEAKER_06

I probably will not have because sometimes I write all the numbers across the top of my board and I can erase them as we do them. I'm not writing down 62 numbers.

SPEAKER_01

That takes too much that is too much effort. I am not in the mood for that.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so you may have to write these rules down.

SPEAKER_01

So rules?

SPEAKER_03

Yes, it's just no no, it's three three rules.

SPEAKER_01

Three rules, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So um What are the rules, Jerry?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, we are gonna go to twelve points, but Okay. Twelve points, but hold all criticism till the end. I will give you the clue, and if you get it without any help or any assistance, it's two points.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Um if you want a hint, I will give you the classification of what it is, and that'll be take it down to one point, so that might help help a little bit in reducing what you what you think it might be. And if you don't get it then, we it opens up for a half point steal.

SPEAKER_06

Got it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I guess. I don't know.

SPEAKER_06

I said I wasn't gonna write down all the numbers, and then I did. Yeah, I also wrote down all of it. They're a lot smaller, but they'll they'll work.

SPEAKER_01

Great. I didn't, because I'm just not going to. So let's go.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I'm not going to either because I already did.

SPEAKER_06

All right, Daphne's starting with 11.

SPEAKER_01

No, I am not. I'm taking 13. No, you're not.

SPEAKER_03

No. Well, you can't because Daphne's going first. But she wants 11. Yeah. She already said 11, so I did not. So we're going to we are going to go in the order of Daphne, Pake, and Jeff.

SPEAKER_02

Wonderful.

SPEAKER_03

I'm the caboose. Yeah, so, and if you if there's an issue, this is why I asked about the shirting thing. Um I will write it, I will put the clue on here in just in case you have a problem. So.

unknown

Alright?

SPEAKER_03

What if the problem is I can't read?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, Jeff.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. One of those things that I've never bothered to look up. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, people don't really use USB like drives anymore, at least that I see.

SPEAKER_04

Not much, not with cloud storage, but you still have USB C for.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. You mean like OneDrive?

SPEAKER_04

Exactly. Jerry's favorite.

SPEAKER_01

Jerry, I'm so afraid. Can I just tell you that I'm so afraid? I save things on OneDrive, but then I have a second backup of the most important things on my hard drive because I'm afraid.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_06

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_03

Us puspigush. Yes. Sorry. That was right there. That will not be the episode title.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, why not? If you say that, that makes it the episode title. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Okay. Until something else comes along. Yeah. Alright. Round one. Fine. Jeff. Jeff and Daphne tied at two. Jerry has one, and Pika has zero. Yes! Alright. Alright. Pake is going for the dirty sweep. Yeah. Alright. Daphne. Lucky number 11. You're serious, right? 11? Okay.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_03

The PF and PF Chang.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Um practically food. Oh my God.

SPEAKER_01

So I think that if these aren't what they are, they should be changed now.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it would be great if P.F. Chang said that they were practically food.

SPEAKER_06

Practically food.

SPEAKER_04

Definitely want that.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. I think that that should definitely be adjusted to be that. Think of all the problems we can solve with this game.

SPEAKER_06

Philadelphia Fridays.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. Okay. All right. Anybody want to have point steel?

SPEAKER_01

No, I can't outdo practically food. Like I feel like that's the best answer. Why would I want to change it? No.

SPEAKER_04

Because we all remember the Hillblown family.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So after three rounds, Daphne's in the lead with six, followed by Jeff with four, Pink with two, and oh, Jerry's it with three. Ooh.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my gosh. Basic. Oh my gosh. I used to know what this meant.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know that I remember it. I know it I think it has to do with the computer language, but yeah. Yeah, Jerry. I don't know. I think the first one is probably binary, but outside of that, I don't know. Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

I would have guessed binary as well. That was the best thing I could come up with, even though I know it has nothing to do with binary. Be a sweetie. Invite Carl. Yep, that's my.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? That's what Meat Wad would say. Uh-huh if they were having a party.

SPEAKER_06

It just seems like basic, you know, uh Etiquette, right?

SPEAKER_01

Etiquette and Etichate, yeah. So, Jerry, enlighten us.

SPEAKER_03

It stands for beginner's all-purpose symbolic instruction code. And I've known that since I was 12.

SPEAKER_01

That's great that you knew that. If I wanted to put that in my brain, I would have to kick something else out. And I don't think I want to part with any of my wrestling, figure skating, or photography knowledge. So it it doesn't get to go in.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, basic was the first stuff that I learned too.

SPEAKER_01

I learned basic programming.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know if I'm not.

SPEAKER_06

First things I learned as a toddler were pretty basic as well.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Honestly, the things I learned as a toddler were mostly acidic. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

That's oh, I love chemistry jokes.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, pick 20. And lucky number 20. Oh shit.

SPEAKER_01

You see? He says lucky, and then he looks at it and you and says that, and you instantly know it's gonna either suck or be so easy that you hope you don't fuck it up.

SPEAKER_03

Your clue is sonar.

SPEAKER_01

Come on. Paik, give us something fun, because I know you want to.

SPEAKER_06

It is some some obnoxious noise around the radius. That's it. Kind of.

SPEAKER_03

I cannot I cannot give that one to you. Anybody else want to take a crack at it for a half point?

SPEAKER_06

It's a character in the game Dispatch. He's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

I think sound navigation and ranging? Correct! My dad had to have sonar on the boat.

SPEAKER_04

I knew I got sound and range, but I was m my brain was stuck on nautical.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Me too. Yeah. And so I went with navigation because I thought about because my dad's boat broke down once and they were lost at sea until someone went out to find him. And um we had a long dis like this.

SPEAKER_06

He had already used his sonar and the dolphins had come for the rescue. So we were good. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh. Okay, sure. They pulled the boat in and everything.

SPEAKER_02

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Chief.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_01

You laugh like it's a like it's hilarious.

SPEAKER_03

I'm sorry. It's just I I was like, I was thinking in my head, somebody pick five, somebody pick five when I came up with it. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you wanted me to pick it, so I'd get it right.

SPEAKER_03

I wanted anybody to pick it.

SPEAKER_01

Why?

SPEAKER_06

Because he's tired, he's not gonna stand for this question anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Taser. I've been waiting for this one. I was hoping to get this one.

SPEAKER_01

I have no idea, Jerry, so just Jeff, you go ahead and give it. Since you know. Or if Peg has something clever to say, I'm always down. You got it?

SPEAKER_05

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

You know the answer, or is this a peg answer?

SPEAKER_05

What do you mean? I know exactly what it is. Let's see. Let's see.

SPEAKER_01

Take a shot.

SPEAKER_04

Take a shot, A Rube. The correct answer looks like it could be a Paik answer.

SPEAKER_01

Thomas A. Swift's electric rifle?

SPEAKER_03

That is correct.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Fucking A.

SPEAKER_03

My favorite Beatles song.

SPEAKER_04

Thomas A. Swift, aka Tom Swift, uh was a uh it was a series of books back in like the twenties. And he had an electric rifle. And that's where the the name Taser was taken from those books.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Alright, uh Pink.

SPEAKER_06

39.

SPEAKER_03

Lucky number 39.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Your clue is A T and T.

SPEAKER_06

All talk and text. Uh it's probably like telecommunications and technology or something like that for the T's, but the A, I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_03

None of that.

SPEAKER_04

I'm making a guess. Daphne has a lot of things. I am as well. Yes. So this is what I'm going with. Analog telephone and telegram.

SPEAKER_03

The correct answer is American telephone and telegraph. Daphne has it right.

SPEAKER_04

Telegraph. And right. American, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I do love hearing those words. Daphne has telenovella.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's a telenovela. That's right. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, and that was uh Jeff is next, right?

SPEAKER_04

I think so, yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, okay.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_04

This has been established that Daphne picks good numbers for you. Yeah?

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Well, it'll be you'll have a chance to do that next time. So uh after five rounds, Jeff leads with eight and a half, Daphne with seven, me with four, and Pake with two.

SPEAKER_05

Yay! Holding strong.

SPEAKER_01

I'll take number seven, Jerry.

SPEAKER_03

Lucky number seven. Uh your clue is FHA.

SPEAKER_01

Uh farmer's home administration?

unknown

Hang on.

SPEAKER_03

Did I get the wrong meaning? Because I have a different one. Hang on.

SPEAKER_01

Or it used to be farmer's home. I think now it's Federal Housing Administration.

SPEAKER_03

Correct, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's the one I had. Because my mom got a loan from them.

SPEAKER_06

It's not frequently harassed apricots?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, apricots. I had apes. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Not 20 points, two points.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_04

That's a 20-point question. The double, double, double, the daily double.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's too bad we didn't have like a daily double. That would be fun. Maybe I'll do that the next time I do like Buffalo Jeopardy.

unknown

Cool.

SPEAKER_04

Or you can risk a certain amount.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_06

Why would I know this? I mean, it seems like something I would have learned in like computer class in junior high.

SPEAKER_01

And why would you keep it in the U.S.?

SPEAKER_06

I know. Like seven months ago.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like they'll pick you up so much other info, like you have to shove something out in order for it to live there.

SPEAKER_04

Universal? Trying to see if Jerry will give anything away. Romulan language. Oh yeah, that's it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

My face gave it away.

SPEAKER_04

Now incorrect, I believe, Jerry, that is upright left.

SPEAKER_03

No, uh the Daphne has it right again. Uniform resource locator.

SPEAKER_06

I did not know that. So it originally, so fun fact, the URL, they started letting other websites and services use it, and now anybody can have their own URL. But originally it was only for people who sold uniforms for different work and jobs and stuff. So you needed to make sure to find locate the place that you could buy your uniform from.

SPEAKER_01

I admire your persistence.

SPEAKER_04

And here I thought that some of the first you know uh places with URLs were college campuses and research labs. But apparently no, it was uniform manufacturers.

SPEAKER_06

Just uniform manufacturers. Yeah. Interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Interesting. Yeah. Um that was pick a uh 53. Lucky number 53.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. I don't know why. Okay, sorry, sorry. I don't know why. But I have this image of secretaries doing the thing with me.

SPEAKER_06

Alright, here's your food. Just drop a bunch of sandwiches on the desk and yell.

SPEAKER_02

Oh god.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god. That's insane. Jerry. That's what's floating. Here's my answer.

SPEAKER_03

Uh health and human services is correct.

SPEAKER_04

Services, that's right.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Working in the medical world.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. No, I should have I should have gotten that one.

SPEAKER_01

I just A lot of people call it DHS, like.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But it yeah, it keeps evolving, and I don't know. I mean, it's alphabet soup, really.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Definitely got to have to be able to do that. Yeah, which when that when when alphabet soup is what's on the menu for the hungry hungry sapotaries, it that's that's a messy and dangerous one. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You really wouldn't want to be putting spaghetti and meatballs down for a hungry hungry secretary second.

SPEAKER_06

I know I think I said separataries.

SPEAKER_01

It's a hard word to say thanks. It is.

SPEAKER_04

Separaries.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Uh Jerry, what's uh what's our score?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, Daphne scored three points in round six, so that puts her in the lead at ten. Jeff at eight and a half, me with four, and pake with two. Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Pake's holding steady.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So Daphne, round seven.

SPEAKER_01

Seventeen.

SPEAKER_03

Lucky number seventeen.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Your clue is CBS.

SPEAKER_01

Uh oh god. Columbia broadcasting system.

SPEAKER_04

Correct. Yep. Which gives her twelve. Which gives her twelve. Yeah. That's a good pull. I had forgotten. I could not remember the Columbia part. Oh no, I could still catch up.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so Peek.

SPEAKER_05

40.

SPEAKER_03

Lucky number 40. Peak, you should have had Daphne pick your number. You should. Your clue is IKEA.

SPEAKER_01

Why do I feel like Jeff might know this one? Yeah. He might be able to pull this out from somewhere.

SPEAKER_06

It's kooky European architecture. Damn it, he got it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, this one was one of the the ones I should have awarded double points for.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think that, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

This one's uh like probably the hardest one on the board.

SPEAKER_04

It's I'm assuming it's Swedish words. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Why would you put Swedish words?

SPEAKER_04

Seriously, Jerry.

SPEAKER_01

It's a pizza, eat the pizza.

SPEAKER_06

Pizza starts with eight now? Yes. In Swedish it does. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, looking back on it. No, no, looking back on it, I shouldn't have I should re-rejigger this list a little bit and then you know fix it up so I can take it when we do when I do this game again, and I will, I will have not so hard clues. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

So this one, IKEA, stands for uh your pronunciation is gonna be judged since you put it on the list.

SPEAKER_03

Ingvar comprad Elmia Elm Teyard Anuyard.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm gonna do that.

SPEAKER_04

I'm saying Jerry doesn't get a point for that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm gonna pull uh uh a little saying we have at Grady McDuff's when we get questions that are quite ridiculous like this. Who knows this shit? Why would you know it?

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yes, and maybe a lot of Swedish people would probably know.

SPEAKER_01

They might, but I don't.

SPEAKER_04

I mean And if Daphne doesn't know it, it's not worth knowing.

SPEAKER_01

But that is not what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not saying that you're saying that. I'm saying that.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. I will not take the point for that one, so I will give it to me.

SPEAKER_04

I will finish the night off with 62.

SPEAKER_03

Lucky number 62. Oh, here's one. USDA.

SPEAKER_04

Um god.

SPEAKER_01

It's a little too late to be asking these questions. Oh man.

SPEAKER_04

I should know that one just off the top of my head, and I don't. Mm-hmm. United States Department of Agriculture.

SPEAKER_03

Correct.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Okay. Jeff, I'm glad that you got it because honestly, you would have been so mad at the time.

SPEAKER_04

I would have been very upset about that one. That was one that like I knew, and it just was had fallen out of my brain. Immediately, I I almost said, Oh, it's the United States Drug Administration. Wait, no, no, it's not that.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know, steaks can be like a drug sometimes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Hey, depend depends on the cut and the cooking and the seasoning. Oh my god. Yeah. I mean you could slice it with a butter knife, it's so tender.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. Steak for dinner tonight. It was it was okay.

SPEAKER_03

Well, so uh Daphne wins with 12. Congratulations. Jeff Jeff comes in second with 10 and a half, me with four, and pick with two. Yes. You just gotta end up picking better numbers. Or have Daphne pick your numbers.

SPEAKER_04

You're terrible at picking your numbers.

SPEAKER_06

Well, the last like two or three that Daphne picked, I wouldn't have known either for herself. But Daphne would have picked ones for you that you can't.

SPEAKER_01

I would have picked different exactly.

SPEAKER_04

She's not gonna pick the same numbers that she wants.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_04

That's true.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it's proven it's a proven thing.

SPEAKER_04

You don't learn.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's a proven thing that I have picked numbers for him that have been very successful. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

So went on to have great careers. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, but for funsies, would you like the tiebreaker?

SPEAKER_06

Sure.

SPEAKER_04

For funsies.

SPEAKER_03

Does it start with you are aware?

SPEAKER_02

It is a you are aware question.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, good. Okay, Daphne, you I want you to participate in this one as well, Daphne.

SPEAKER_01

Why? What if I don't want to?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, then you don't get to then you don't get to have the fun.

SPEAKER_06

But here's the fun thing about bonus question is all of your points that you won in the main game are being gambled. So if you don't answer it, you automatically lose all the points. No, I don't play them.

SPEAKER_04

If you don't answer it, you're not gambling the points then.

SPEAKER_01

So That's right. Thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Well her answer would be blank, and that's wrong. But it'd be like Final Jeopardy, where you bet zero. Okay. I will bet five points.

SPEAKER_06

I'll bet my two and Daphne's twelve. Because she's not using them. Yeah, she's not. Points are not transferable, Pake.

SPEAKER_04

That's just a fine print. Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Pake, I thought you didn't want my dirty points.

SPEAKER_06

That was years ago. Yeah. I'm a changed man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, so I got I had to think I had to think quick of a tiebreaker, and I was thinking it just before the episode started. Alright, we started recording. So for the tiebreaker, you know, for probable tiebreaker, you are aware that islands exist.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh, who's I I've heard of them.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, and you're also aware that Sweden exists.

SPEAKER_06

Sweden does.

SPEAKER_03

Finland, on the other hand. Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Right. Now Sweden exists, but it's not an island. They're two separate things.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Okay. But Sweden has the distinction of the country with the most territorial islands or inhabited islands in it in its uh Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

They'll they'll bite you if you get too close to them.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

They're very territorial. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So what is the number of these islands?

SPEAKER_04

Islands or like their fan number? Islands.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, or just islands altogether, inhabited or uninhabited.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. So what is the number of these islands? What number would you call to reach them? 8675309. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_03

So the total number of islands that are governed by Sweden.

SPEAKER_06

Has the most?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Sweden has the most islands in the world.

SPEAKER_06

Because and this could be semantics, but I'm gonna have to like question you on something. You're a geography guy, so maybe you'll know if I'm way off. Anyway, we'll get to that in a minute.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I'm ready. Definitely you're not doing the number, right?

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I am doing this one. You wanna know why I am?

SPEAKER_04

Not particularly.

SPEAKER_01

You'll see soon enough.

unknown

Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I think she actually knows the number.

SPEAKER_04

It's more than one, I bet. No, it's definitely more than one. Alright. This is my number.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow. Mm-hmm.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Pake has what, 135?

SPEAKER_06

135.

SPEAKER_03

Daphne has 260,000. She's look, she's the closest. The total number of islands governed by Sweden, inhabited, uninhabited, small, big, whatever, is 267,570.

SPEAKER_06

Now is that like a like couple of inches square, like square inches patch of like rock in the water, kind of as an island?

SPEAKER_04

If it's always above the water, then yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And how do I know it's come up before?

SPEAKER_06

As islands do.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's true.

SPEAKER_06

Alright, well, that number's way more than I thought. Because I was like, pick out 130. I know 135. Because I was like, that's a lot, because the only the only thing I knew is like I'm thinking bigger islands, because I know the Galapagos Islands are like 127, something like that. And that's like a lot, but they're more islandy than I guess what these would be.

SPEAKER_01

Finland has 175,000.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I was yeah, uh Indonesia is kind of what I was thinking of in my head as like a close one, but they're about 17,000.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, no, they're way down.

SPEAKER_04

Scandinavia is like a lot more island-based than what yeah, it's all the all the fjords and all that kind of stuff. It just kind of cuts through and yeah, leaves a whole bunch of little islands. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So did you end up liking or disliking this game?

SPEAKER_01

No, it was it was fun. I'm terrible at it, but it's fun.

SPEAKER_03

Well, this the second round will be easier.

SPEAKER_01

So the second round will be easier because we did all the hard ones tonight? Some of them, yeah. Okay. All right.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you, Jerry, for your wonderful game and entertaining us tonight.

SPEAKER_03

And nearly passing out twice and once before the recording.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, really. It's what we've come to expect.

SPEAKER_03

Well, there have been times I haven't.

SPEAKER_01

From now on, I'm just going to hit record as soon as I log on.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Before we even show up.

SPEAKER_01

Before you even show up. That's what I'm gonna do because I missed something that would have been incredible.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_00

Bye, son.
