Live from the Dead Souls bookshop in Dunedin, New Zealand. It's Buffalo Buffalo.
SPEAKER_00It's Buffalo, Buffalo, Buffalo, Buffalo, yeah!
SPEAKER_07Welcome to Buffalo Buffalo, the podcast where I get driven insane every week by Jerry, Jeff, and Peike. Say hello, guys.
SPEAKER_06Hello, guys.
SPEAKER_07This is an audio podcast. Peike and Jeff, you are now allowed to speak.
SPEAKER_03Oh, good.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Oh, okay. Thanks. Yeah, our last instruction was to close our mouths. So, you know. Peike and I are nothing if not obedient.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_07Are you abide by the rules always?
SPEAKER_04100%. No, you don't.
SPEAKER_07Do not do not be telling tall tales to the audience when they know better.
SPEAKER_04Or medium size.
SPEAKER_07No. You're telling stories.
SPEAKER_06I prefer that I prefer that our tales be veggie tales.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Thank you for letting us know that, Jerry. This episode is brought to you by the Veggie Tales.
SPEAKER_04We'll end the episode with a Bible verse. And we'll learn a lesson today. It'll be great. Just like we always do.
SPEAKER_06And it's like Davy and Goliath.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_06There's enough reference for you.
SPEAKER_05Davey and Goliath, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Oh man. I remember that actually. Wow. So how are you guys? How are you this week? Everything going on?
SPEAKER_04Good now. Now all I just have different like songs from Veggie Tales and Silly Songs with Larry all trying to like play in my head at the same time now.
SPEAKER_07So you're gonna have to let that go.
SPEAKER_03Not happening.
SPEAKER_07Well, you're gonna need some brain capacity to play my game today, which is Buffalo Jeopardy.
SPEAKER_05What is okay?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Well, I I yeah, but I have to say my first full week with Desmond went swimmingly. He's great. Yeah. He knows how to swim. He does.
SPEAKER_07Awesome. Did you get him some of those floaties so he can go in the pool? It's been getting really hot, I know, in Fresno, so he's gonna need to cool off.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, he's okay in here. I got the uh I have the AC on for him.
SPEAKER_07Oh, good.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Did you fix your robot?
SPEAKER_05Um, yes.
SPEAKER_07Excellent.
SPEAKER_05He's neutered his robot. That's excellent.
SPEAKER_04Good. Always spay and neuter your robots.
SPEAKER_07That is a buffalo stance.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Yeah, and one thing, uh one thing I noticed he does a lot is is what I call right-hand sphinx. And I don't know when the cats like they sit in like a low position, but they put their feet out in front of them like the Sphinx.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_06He only does it with his right leg.
SPEAKER_07Oh, he just um make sure that when you're speaking, you speak into the microphone because I notice you're turning away and talking, and that's gonna make it fun to be.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this like Doppler thing going.
SPEAKER_06And and you won't let me use the headset microphone either. So no.
SPEAKER_05I don't know if I've ever told you you can't use the headset microphone.
SPEAKER_06No, the the uh there's pops when I when I talk about it.
SPEAKER_05Is there snap and crackle there as well, or just pop and just pops.
SPEAKER_04Okay. A grandfather just kind of keeps showing up.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Hey kids!
SPEAKER_04Pops! Damn it, pops, go away. Not yet.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'll just be an uncle pops. So that's that's it for me. So I don't have any kids or grandkids yet.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you're gonna you're just gonna skip right to grandkids.
SPEAKER_04And I'm just gonna skip right to grandkids. I mean, if if only, right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, no kidding. That's why uncling is such a great uh you know position to have.
SPEAKER_04That's my that's my job that I do well and appreciate and take every day.
SPEAKER_05We are all on Buffalo here, we are all uh big proponents of uncling and aunting.
SPEAKER_07Yes, absolutely. Um, it's fun to fill them up full of sugar and send them home.
SPEAKER_05And then drop them. Exactly.
SPEAKER_07Uh-huh. Yes. Absolutely. Um, but I have learned that they reach an age that they start to become a bit more difficult and not as happy to see Auntie coming along.
SPEAKER_05They start to realize that they have independence.
SPEAKER_07Yes. Yeah, it's it's been a little rough with my oldest niece just because I feel like she is independent and stubborn. Um my youngest niece is still adorable. She asks me every time when I see her, when can we go to wrestling again, Auntie? I want to go to wrestling. So I'm so excited. I get to take her in July because it's going to be close to where she lives. But she does. I I've taken her a couple of times and she really she loves it. The whole craziness, like the wild and craziness of it, she is on board. She loves it.
SPEAKER_04See, I also have a workaround to that in a way. Like I still have my like nieces and nephews and stuff, but then I also do like the uh elementary school mentoring because then when they get to that age, I can just trade them in for the newest edition the next school year.
SPEAKER_06You trade them in for the next model year.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_07Statova.
SPEAKER_06You get the uh you'll be getting what the 2027 models back in in the September.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_07The last couple of years you've had two. Are you gonna go back to just having one after this year?
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_07That will be cool.
SPEAKER_04One less full time, and then maybe still off and ons with the others.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. It's cool because I know that. No, go ahead, Jeff. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_05No, go ahead because I'm changing subjects, so go ahead.
SPEAKER_07Okay. No, I know that Paike, you've been with one of the kids for five years. Like this was the fifth year, because it started during COVID, like when schools started opening up again. And it doesn't seem possible that you've been working with him for five years. It it's crazy to me that it's been that long.
SPEAKER_05It's crazy. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, I was just gonna say, um, going back kind of to nieces and nephews, my oldest niece has her high school graduation this Friday. Yeah, it's like, no, no, that that can't be because I'm I'm only like 25 years old, so she can't possibly exactly.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_05No, because your father is my younger brother, and I'm a very young man. Yeah. So you you must be three or four.
SPEAKER_07How could you possibly be graduating from high school? So this is your first niece or nephew to graduate, correct?
SPEAKER_05Yes, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Oh boy.
SPEAKER_05And uh Pake, she'll be uh hanging out next fall, she'll be hanging out kind of near you. She's going to uh TCU. Okay, yeah. You know, a couple hours away, but still, yeah. Yeah. It's funny as that. Be a horned frog. Be a horned frog, absolutely. I'll actually be in in Fort Worth when she's there. Nice.
SPEAKER_04There you go, yeah.
SPEAKER_05I'll have to let her know, be like, hey, I'm just gonna drop by at your dorm.
SPEAKER_04TCU, the you know, great alumni there, Jeremy Colhane. He's a TCU alum.
SPEAKER_06That's right, yeah. I don't know who that is.
SPEAKER_04He's on SNL in the dropout stuff.
SPEAKER_05He's a dropout alum, but yeah, he's on SNL now.
SPEAKER_07He's also still on dropout. He was just on Game Changers. It was super fun to see him.
SPEAKER_05Yes, it was.
SPEAKER_07On there again.
SPEAKER_05See, we saw a lot of him. We did.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_04It's more than I've ever seen in him. Yes. I've seen him in person, but Game Changers do have a lot more of him. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You never know what you're gonna see on Game Changer, like what the game's gonna be. And it's super fun. I love that they did the behind the scenes thing of how they did it because that was just so fun. Because it's always like a spectacle with these games.
SPEAKER_05Yes, the uh the the gentleman down in the corner got a question.
SPEAKER_06Um dare I ask how much of what did you see? Did he was there like some backle nudity or backl?
SPEAKER_04Backle. Backle nudity. Interesting. Uh I've never heard that term used before, but yes, that's exactly what that was.
SPEAKER_06It's because there's frontal and there's the opposite of frontal. Backle.
SPEAKER_04Backle.
SPEAKER_07Okay, that's a new thing.
SPEAKER_05That's now an established thing, backle nudity. You've never heard of backle nudity.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_05I have now.
SPEAKER_07Is this something that you learned from your other group of friends? No. Okay.
SPEAKER_05No, this is something that Jerry just decided on his own.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_06No, because it goes back to like Dilbert. Uh like the I remember watching the uh Dilbert TV show Once Upon a Time. And it's like, and I forget what the what the other, I think it was Wally. I think the character Wally was like, it's Frenchle and Beckle.
SPEAKER_07Jerry, I don't think that Dilbert was on once upon a time.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Well, I I mean once upon a time, like however many years ago it was.
SPEAKER_04Okay, all the dis Disney princesses and characters, and Dilbert.
SPEAKER_06That's what that show is about.
SPEAKER_07I'm sorry. Jerry, you opened the door and I had to watch the door.
SPEAKER_05You did open the door to say that Dilbert was on once upon a time.
SPEAKER_07Yes. I had to do it because you know what? Jeff or Peg? Yeah, you guys do it to me. So I'm trying to be more in the moment and be more like us.
SPEAKER_05Yes. That's right.
SPEAKER_07I don't know that Chris appreciates it. Because sometimes I will say something and he'll just look at me and say, You're you think you're smart, don't you? Or ask if I'm proud of myself because I usually am.
SPEAKER_05Because Chris, we have not yet convinced Chris that punnery is the highest form of humor.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, no, he does not like puns. Not at all. He is not a fan of puns.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_07He shuns the puns. He shuns the puns. There's none of it.
SPEAKER_03It's no fun.
SPEAKER_07So if I make one, it's he just looks at me like I've lost my mind. Because he knows that I know he hates them.
SPEAKER_06Well, the the whole uh the barrage of text that Pex Pacon I Pexton I sent you. That Pacon I sent you. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06But that whole barrage of uh text messages that Peikon I sent you when you were at the car dealership was for three months. Yes. I mean you had a lot of time.
SPEAKER_07No, it was the DMB that I was at for three months.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_07Well when you're by the time I was reading those text messages to him when we were at the dealership. I'm just like I'm like, this is what it's like. This is a real indication of how it happens every time I open my mouth. Yes. They're waiting, chomping at the bit to say something.
SPEAKER_06But but but I'm glad you you were you were uh good about it.
SPEAKER_07Who says I'm good about it?
SPEAKER_06Well, I'm saying you you played along with a couple things. Yes.
SPEAKER_07I'm waiting for my moment. It will come eventually.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_07So um here we are. We are going to play a little game called Buffalo Jeopardy.
SPEAKER_04Oh, right.
SPEAKER_07There are five categories.
SPEAKER_04All about Buffalo, New York. No.
SPEAKER_07The first category is the The Academy Says. The second one is Guess Who? That's backed by Popular Demand, which is basically guess which co-host said a particular title of an episode. Uh the next one is called Masterpiece Theater.
SPEAKER_05Did you say Masterpiece?
SPEAKER_07Masterpiece Theater.
SPEAKER_05Okay, perfect. It's the Sean Connery filmography category. Got it. I'll take I'll take penis mighty up. I'll take anal bum cover.
SPEAKER_07Um a category number four is for some odd reason.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_07And category five is dynamite.
SPEAKER_05So D-I-N-O.
SPEAKER_07Yes. So a couple of categories we've had before, but there are some new ones. They should play play to some of your strengths.
SPEAKER_06Oh, for some odd reason it might.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_06Uh for uh what was the first one again? Sorry.
SPEAKER_07The Academy says, and it's about Oscars for the Oscar boys.
SPEAKER_04And what was the last one?
SPEAKER_07Dino Might. So there are three questions in each category. And you get um for each they are in varied difficulty. So there's one point for the first question, which one point, two points for question two, three points for question three, and they get the three-point questions are the harder questions.
SPEAKER_06And is there a double double buffalo here?
SPEAKER_07Uh Jerry, would you come out of the tunnel?
SPEAKER_05Knocked his headphones off. He got started like a kid like when he like when the teacher calls on you when you're not in late school.
SPEAKER_07Yes. Exactly.
SPEAKER_05Sorry if we woke you up, Jerry.
SPEAKER_07Yes. You didn't look like you were stretching. You looked like you were getting ready to take a nap. So um to determine the order, we are just going to go the order that you are on my screen, which is Pake, Jerry, and Jeff. So Pake, pick a category and a point. Totally.
SPEAKER_06Point of point? Yes. Yes, Jerry. Do we like raise our hands or shout out when we want to answer?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_07Or is it enough?
SPEAKER_05Or we choose just one person's gonna answer.
SPEAKER_07Just one person is gonna answer. Okay.
SPEAKER_06And if they miss, do we get to do we get to answer?
SPEAKER_07Then you might need your whiteboard. Yes.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Oh, so we will need a whiteboard.
SPEAKER_05Okay. But my whiteboard's already being used as uh mine has my Jeopardy board on it now. Oh well messed up.
SPEAKER_07Then you may have to No, it's my game. Shh. Okay. You may have to mess with it.
SPEAKER_05Can I close my mouth again?
SPEAKER_07No, not now. Okay. Pick a category and a point amount.
SPEAKER_04I will take Dino Might for two.
SPEAKER_07For two. Okay. For two points. This flying reptile is often mistaken for a dinosaur, but technically was not one.
SPEAKER_04Oh, what is Pternodon?
SPEAKER_07Correct, Fake. You have two points.
SPEAKER_04Do I get to just keep running the board like regular?
SPEAKER_07No, no. This is Buffalo Jeopardy. It works a little bit different than that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it would have to, because otherwise, yeah. I mean since we're not buzzing in or anything like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Jerry, pick a category and a point total.
SPEAKER_06For some odd reason, for three.
SPEAKER_07Okay. This actress starred as Bree Vandekamp on Desperate Housewives.
SPEAKER_06Who is Marsha Cross?
SPEAKER_07Correct, Jerry.
SPEAKER_06How would you know I would get that?
SPEAKER_07Because for some odd reason.
SPEAKER_06For some odd reason you got it.
SPEAKER_07Why do you think the category is called for some odd reason?
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay. Oh, that's the reason.
SPEAKER_07No one can see me rolling my eyes.
SPEAKER_06Okay, Jeff.
SPEAKER_07Okay, Jeff.
SPEAKER_05Okay, uh, let's do guess who for two.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Which co-host said episode 73 is episode title, Sharbooterie.
SPEAKER_05Oh gosh. I know it wasn't me. Um who is Paik?
SPEAKER_07That would be that would be correct.
SPEAKER_05And Peike is also correct, but he is that one that was raising his hand.
SPEAKER_06No, but you have to do the jazz the jazzy hands on his bootery.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Paik? You're up.
SPEAKER_04Let's try Academy says for three.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Ben Her, Titanic, and what 2003 film share the record for the most wins by a single film.
SPEAKER_04What is Avatar?
SPEAKER_07Incorrect.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_07Jerry or Jeff, do you have a guest?
SPEAKER_05Jerry. I know it. I know it. Okay. I also know it.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Reveal, please.
SPEAKER_05One second.
SPEAKER_07Lord of the Rings, Return of the King, and that is what Jeff. So Jeff and Jerry, you each get three points for that.
SPEAKER_06Sweet. I will take uh my turn, right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yes.
SPEAKER_06Okay. I will take for some odd reason for two.
SPEAKER_07She starred alongside. Yes. I mean, you each have your own. I mean, kind. I mean. She starred alongside Ryan Gosling in La La Land and won an Oscar for poor things.
SPEAKER_06Uh, Emma Stone. Who is Emma Stone?
SPEAKER_07That is correct, Jerry. Jeff.
SPEAKER_05Let's try Masterpiece Theater for three.
SPEAKER_07Okay. This zombie apocalypse. Acopalypse. This zombie apocalypse movie meets US Commanders in Chief.
SPEAKER_05What is Wait, can you repeat it one more time?
SPEAKER_07This zombie apocalypse movie meets US Commanders in Chief.
SPEAKER_05Um I thought I had it and then I realized I didn't. Um I should have known better than to do this category because Daphne is the queen of the vague uh synopses.
SPEAKER_04I have a guess. I don't know if it's right.
SPEAKER_05Um here.
SPEAKER_04Are they in supposed to be in the order of what you said? Yes.
SPEAKER_03So the zombie movie is first.
SPEAKER_06I think I got it. I can take a stab at it.
SPEAKER_07Can you? You better stab him in the head, Jerry. It's the only way to take him out.
SPEAKER_06Is there a penalty for getting it wrong?
SPEAKER_07No. There's no penalty there are no penalties.
SPEAKER_05I I have nothing. I do not have it.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Pake, uh Pake or Jerry.
SPEAKER_06You got anything?
SPEAKER_03No. I did, but then I my clarifying question let me know I was wrong. I think it's this.
SPEAKER_07Dawn of the Dead Presidents would be correct, Jerry. Yes.
SPEAKER_05I mean in this particular situation, I couldn't remember it was like that did pop into my head, but I couldn't remember if there was Well, Dead Presidents isn't about presidents, though, is it? It's a mashup. It's a mashup.
SPEAKER_04That doesn't answer the question that Jeff had.
SPEAKER_05So Dead Presidents is about money. Like not about commanders in chief.
SPEAKER_07Right. It doesn't matter. It's about presidents are on the movie's called Dead Presidents. It's about money. There are presidents.
SPEAKER_04So she's not acting she's not mashing. So not God.
SPEAKER_05We're not actually doing that.
SPEAKER_04It has nothing to do with the movies. God.
SPEAKER_05It's not a guess. My guess is if I had said Knight of the Living Dead Presidents, she would have said no. Or anything else, you know.
SPEAKER_07I was contemplating that, and I would have given it to you if you said Knight of the Living Dead Presidents.
SPEAKER_05I almost said that, but I was like, well, but yeah, but Dead Presidents isn't about commanders.
SPEAKER_07You're thinking too deeply.
SPEAKER_05I'm thinking too correctly. You're right. That's my fault.
SPEAKER_07Are we picking apart my game yet again? 100%.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because who in here has ever picked apart a game or specific answers to questions that they thought they should be getting checked?
SPEAKER_05No, Daphne was wrong. Your answer is wrong.
SPEAKER_07Do you guys remember when I didn't know?
SPEAKER_05I would like to choose number 11.
SPEAKER_07Do you guys remember the night that I hosted trivia and Ben went to bat with me about an answer and he was wrong?
SPEAKER_05Oh yes, it was super fun. That was that was Daphne's greatest moment.
SPEAKER_07No, my greatest moment was when I beat him by one point in the trivia. Oh yes, that was when we played against each other. Oh I felt like I had a lot to prove in that. Okay. I believe we are back around to Peike.
SPEAKER_05We are. What is our score at right now? Do you have uh yeah?
SPEAKER_07The score is Jerry has 11, Jeff has five, and Paik has two.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Crushing it.
SPEAKER_07You mean Peike, I didn't tell you. It's who has the lowest points. Yeah, it's Golf. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Makes sense. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Oh, damn it.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_04Alright. Let me take guess who for three.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Which co-host said episode 63's episode title, Gold, Frankincense, and dot dot dot.
SPEAKER_04That was me as hell who is Peg. Who is Peg?
SPEAKER_07That is incorrect. No, it's and so nobody gets too.
SPEAKER_05I I feel like Jerry and I both had it written down.
SPEAKER_04They can have it. Because if I I'll make sure nobody gets an answer on that one. No, it's Jeff. Jerry. Jeff. I've answered them all. Nobody has a chance.
SPEAKER_05Oh goodness. The complete title was actually Gold, Frankincense, and how do we write the channel? We struggled for how do we spell that.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_06Because it's more of a uh it's more of an onamonopoetic word. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_07Okay, Jerry. Go ahead, Jerry.
SPEAKER_06Wolf meow. Bazoink. Um for some odd reason, for one.
SPEAKER_07This actress portrayed Scully on the X-Files.
SPEAKER_06Look at him. Do I even have to just answer?
SPEAKER_04You just assume I'm gonna be right. You don't have to answer it.
SPEAKER_07You don't have to. I would bang it out on your desk in more sense. I mean, I felt like you started to. Um okay, Jeff.
SPEAKER_06I'm glad I caught myself. Yes.
SPEAKER_07Barely.
SPEAKER_05Alright. Okay, let's go with The Academy Says for Two.
SPEAKER_07All right. This director became the first woman to win Best Director for The Hurt Locker.
SPEAKER_05Oh, gosh. I know exactly who it is. I'm just trying to remember her name, and I feel really bad that the first thing that pops into my head is Jim Cameron's ex-wife.
SPEAKER_07I'm sorry. That is not a good one. Give me a minute.
SPEAKER_05Give me a minute to I know.
SPEAKER_07A minute or five? You need five?
SPEAKER_05At least five. At least five minutes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Jerry's already written it down.
SPEAKER_05Her name is right on the tip of my tongue, and I just See, this is great because it's prepping me.
SPEAKER_07It's my own questions to prep me for tomorrow.
SPEAKER_05I'm not going to be able to get it. I know it, and I'm going to be so upset with myself when I hear it. It's right on the tip of my tongue, and I cannot get it.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Uh, Peg, do you did you write something down?
SPEAKER_04Yes, it's Vesper Childers, aka Batchild.
SPEAKER_07How did you know? I love Batchild. You're going for me to give you a point, right? Uh I'm sorry, Jerry. That is incorrect. It is Catherine Bigelow.
SPEAKER_06Catherine. Oh, damn it. Damn it. Yeah. Well, I got Bigelow.
SPEAKER_07I'm sorry it wasn't big enough. Sorry.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Ah, damn it. Okay. Bigelow, bigelow, bigelow, big a little. Bigelow, big a little bit.
SPEAKER_07I think we're back around to Paik again.
SPEAKER_04Great. Uh guess who for one?
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_04I think I'm in way too far of a deficit at this point for anything.
SPEAKER_07But uh, you kinda are, but but Keith almost all the threes and twos. Yeah. Okay, Paik, which co-host said, episode 81's title, bucket full of mayonnaise.
SPEAKER_05I don't even remember that one.
SPEAKER_04That's the one? That's the hardest one of them all. You flipped them.
SPEAKER_07Um That's the hardest one of them all.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_07Of those three.
SPEAKER_04That was the hardest one. That is definitely the hardest.
SPEAKER_07No, I knew this one right away.
SPEAKER_04Oh, so what we know doesn't matter. It's about yeah.
SPEAKER_07That's about me. It's all about me.
SPEAKER_04Uh I'm just gonna guess Jerry.
SPEAKER_07Do um that is incorrect.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_07Jerry or Jeff, do you have a guess? I have a guess.
SPEAKER_05I'm pretty sure I have it.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Jeff and Jerry, who do you think said it? Jerry says Peike and Jeff says Daphne. Jerry, you are slaying everything today. Uh no one's gonna catch you, so we're just gonna finish.
SPEAKER_04I said it and I don't even remember saying I don't remember saying a lot of things.
SPEAKER_07Because Peike, after we record, I forget.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_07Unless it's Lady Gaga in the meat dress or something like that, or it just slides right out. I don't remember. Like it's impossible. Alright.
SPEAKER_06Um, I will take uh Dynamite for three.
SPEAKER_07Okay. The asteroid impact link to dinosaur extinction struck near this modern-day peninsula in Mexico.
SPEAKER_06What is the Yucatan?
SPEAKER_07Correct, Jerry. Would you like me to empty all the points into your bucket?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Of mayonnaise? Pour the mayonnaise out, then put the points in.
SPEAKER_07This is so not going the way I expected it to go. Which is.
SPEAKER_04Which should be exactly how you expect it to go.
SPEAKER_05Exactly. I'm curious, how did you expect it to go? What is different than honestly?
SPEAKER_07I thought Peg would do better. But you you should never have left the dino section. You should have just been in the din stayed there. Because you were successful there. Why did you leave it?
SPEAKER_04I I I didn't want to feel too like you know homeostasis. I wanted to branch out. I wanted to go on an adventure.
SPEAKER_07I wanted to see new. Okay. That's Star Trek, not Dynamite. Um Jeff. Jerry. Or is it Jeff?
SPEAKER_06It's Jeff's Jeff.
SPEAKER_07Alright, Jeff. I'm sorry, Jerry keeps get Jerry keeps getting them all right, so I'm I'm not even sure when it's his turn and when it isn't.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Uh I will take Masterpiece Theater for two.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Anton Chigur gets recruited by a secret alien fighting agency.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, this is this is much, much easier. Uh actually using monopolies of a movie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_05Honestly, I should I should have just guessed um you know, Dawn of the Dead presidents. I I really should have to do that. You should have. I don't even I talked myself out of it. And Daphne is, as Daphne knows very well, you know, you don't want to do that in trivia.
SPEAKER_07No, because you will talk yourself out of the right answer.
SPEAKER_05The first reaction is probably right.
SPEAKER_07We did that two weeks ago. We talked ourselves out of an answer that had to do with what weighs more a major league baseball bat, a tennis racket, or an NHL hockey stick. Ronaldi had the answer.
SPEAKER_05It's gotta be the bat.
SPEAKER_07Yes. And somehow he talked us out of it because he thought he was wrong.
SPEAKER_05And I assume talk you into hockey stick.
SPEAKER_07Yes, and that was the difference. We lost by a pull.
SPEAKER_06You know, it's carbon fiber, it's like so light. Exactly. Yeah. So you want tennis records to be light. Exactly.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Okay, are we back around to Peike again?
SPEAKER_04We are.
SPEAKER_07Alright, Peike.
SPEAKER_04Uh-huh. Masterpiece Theater for one.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Freddy Krueger enters the world of arcade combat.
SPEAKER_04What is a nightmare on Elm Street Fighter?
SPEAKER_07Absolutely. That is correct.
SPEAKER_05I just realized we have not been super good on our what is and who is.
SPEAKER_07You haven't. You're very lucky that I'm not a stickler. I've just decided that any chance I can give Peike a point, I'm going to do because he I will take yeah.
SPEAKER_06I will take Dino Mine for one.
SPEAKER_07Okay. This dinosaur's name means Swift Thief.
SPEAKER_06I don't know.
SPEAKER_07Alright, Jeff and Peike, do you have a guess?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I have a feeling I know exactly what you're gonna write.
SPEAKER_04Hopefully the right answer.
SPEAKER_07I don't know. We'll see. Okay. Please reveal. Jeff put Velociraptor. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_07And Peg put Velociraptor. That is correct.
SPEAKER_04What do you think I would write that wasn't that?
SPEAKER_07I was afraid you were gonna write Compi, and I didn't want to have to say that you were wrong, so I'm grateful I wrote that.
SPEAKER_04The Latin in that name does not make sense at all for that.
SPEAKER_05I'm a little bit of what part like I th I would have thought that you know Velociraptor meant swift lizard. Or not Swift lizard. Hunter.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, no, thief. Okay.
SPEAKER_06What Raptor now means thief. Okay, let me write that one down. Stop! Raptor!
SPEAKER_07Okay, uh, Jerry, I guess this is the last thing.
SPEAKER_05Jerry gets to go again, sure. Why not?
SPEAKER_07Do I get to go again? No, did you just go? Okay, then it's Jeff. Yes. Okay. Sorry, it's hard. Jerry keeps getting points.
SPEAKER_04So you just have to keep giving him all the coordinates.
SPEAKER_05Wouldn't that make it more likely that you would say it's not him? Uh yeah, so it's what am I on? Academy says, right?
SPEAKER_07Yes. Uh this director of Jaws and E.T. did not win his first best director, Oscar, until Schindler's list.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Uh that is um I'm trying to I was trying to come see if I could come up with something funny and I couldn't. That's Spielberg.
SPEAKER_07Excellent. Yes. So our final totals are Jerry 173. I need a calculator for Jerry's. Okay. Um Peig had four points.
SPEAKER_05Way to go, Peig. Yes.
SPEAKER_07Jeff had twelve.
SPEAKER_05Nice.
SPEAKER_07Jerry had 19. Congratulations, Jerry. He won the deniant.
SPEAKER_05Two or three three-point steals. He did.
SPEAKER_07And it's honestly made me rethink that I don't know if I want to keep doing it that way when I bring it back. Maybe it's a one-point steal. If it had been a one-point steal, it would have been much closer.
SPEAKER_05Mm-hmm. Kickstarter would have been absolutely annihilated.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_07That makes me sad. I'm sorry. But did you like my did you like my category titles? Because I was excited about them.
SPEAKER_05I did.
SPEAKER_06No, they were they were very good.
SPEAKER_07For some odd reason.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. You gotta bring for some odd reason back.
SPEAKER_07No, I'm gonna figure out what someone else on the tea on our little team here enjoys and come up with something creative so that I can play to their strengths. Because I thought I was playing to the strengths of the Oscar boys, but it didn't quite go as well as I was hoping.
SPEAKER_05Well, I mean I got two of them, and the other one I was like I almost had. I just could not come up with yeah.
SPEAKER_07I know it's late at night for you, Jeff.
SPEAKER_05Catherine Bigelow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I know it's like eight o'clock. I mean, it's that's late.
SPEAKER_04I mean, if there was like an AEW wrestling category, I might have done better.
SPEAKER_07Pake.
SPEAKER_04Or a dropout or dimension twenty category. Jerry would have had like something else.
SPEAKER_05Yes, no clue. Uh baseball history would be my I did baseball last time and you did not soak it in.
SPEAKER_07Okay. It was did not sound like that.
SPEAKER_05I think that was baseball history. I don't think it was baseball history.
SPEAKER_07Do you want me to go back to 1918? Is that historical enough for you?
SPEAKER_05That'd be fantastic. Shoe was Joe Jackson, Ty Cobb, all those. Excellent. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07So that's what I'll do. Um, I'll do a round for Dimension 20, around on A.
SPEAKER_04You've got to tie something because Jackson ain't got no shoes. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_07How delightful. Um, congratulations, Jerry, for your win. I hope that you guys enjoyed this. I think I feel like it went really fast, so maybe next time I will add like another question or it's tough.
SPEAKER_05Because having having done a very similar game, um it is like really tough sometimes to come up with questions. You know, where it's like, okay, I've got all these categories, but now I need to come up with questions for them.
SPEAKER_07No, I I phoned a friend and got some of them, and some of them I can't remember.
SPEAKER_05Was your friend's name Claude?
SPEAKER_07No. No. I actually um the mashup I had. I've had those for a while. I have a whole list of them. Because I was gonna do, I think I've done a round like that before where it's like the mashups. I can't remember because we played so many games. Yeah, it's like what Sam said or someone on um Game Changer, the behind the scenes. Like it's so hard to keep coming up with games.
SPEAKER_05And so I did do I don't remember of I did a game of uh before and after movies. Okay. Like my favorite one that I still I still think about this one because it was like this was the one that made me go, yes, I want to do this game, which was uh the gods must be crazy rich Asians. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07That movie. It's something. It's something. Oh my gosh. I just remember my dad's reaction to it when I was. So the gods must be crazy rich agents. No, the gods must be crazy. When we brought that home to watch, oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_07Uh yeah. Uh, Jerry, I understand we have some feedback.
SPEAKER_06Yes. And I was gonna say my favorite one is when I hit you with a triple called uh Rescue Dawn of the Dead alive. You know, Dawn of the Dead Alive, I think it was. And I had to repeat it like three times.
SPEAKER_07That was unnecessarily complicated.
SPEAKER_06Oh, just wait, it's gonna get even more complicated. I may do a quad a quadruple on you. Love it. Love it.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Okay. Alright, Jerry, bring on the feedback.
SPEAKER_06Alrighty. So uh on episode 99, a tiramisu of fuckery, my brother Tim writes, had to listen at 1.5 speed for most of the episode. Paik's Elmo voice is excellent. That was really funny. Schoolie was funny too. However, I can sympathize with Jerry on listening to Schoolie no more than once an episode, or rather, once every fourth episode. Hey, just a thought. Can Paik do an Australian Elmo voice? Australian.
SPEAKER_04Australian Elmo.
SPEAKER_06Wait.
SPEAKER_04Accent mashups. And like voice. Because I like to do Australian a lot. That's it's an easy one for me to go into real easy. Like, it's it's not bad. But I like then to try to take that and then do an Elmo with it, that sounds quite difficult, actually. So let's see if I can uh So I've got that there.
SPEAKER_01Then I gotta do Elmo, and then I've got a t that's really hard to do. But actually, I think I might be able to do it if I'm really focusing on it a little harder. Yeah, that's not too bad. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_05And somehow it sounded just like your Liverpool accent street.
SPEAKER_01Put the streak on the Bobby.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_01And then they'll do a Cheryl.
SPEAKER_06Okay, and he finishes off. Uh Daphne, I am in the queue for a Buffalo Buffalo merch. When all you decide to put it out there, perhaps on the 200th episode celebration, please let me know. Which is next week.
SPEAKER_07It's coming up quick. It is. It is.
SPEAKER_06Okay. On episode 100, the Sierra Nevadas are ribbed for her pleasure. He's so happy we have that title.
SPEAKER_07Which Jerry said that is not gonna be the title of this episode.
SPEAKER_06And then we overruled it.
SPEAKER_07We did. Three to one.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Levi writes, holy horses, that Levi chick can talk a lot. Like, imagine not having any clue who in the Kurds that is and hearing 14 minutes of comments from no from one strange person in the void. Hey Tim, it's me. I'm Levi. How are you? Did you get enough sleep? Would you rather sleep with your mom or your dad? Wait, what? Oh, that's my mom and dad, me. Jerry, hold on. Jerry. But I'm Jerry. Oh no, the narrative is consuming me. Daphne. Help. Jeff, call 911. Take a picture and upload it to Insta. Mommy!
SPEAKER_07Don't ever change, Levi.
SPEAKER_06Don't ever change.
SPEAKER_07Don't ever change.
SPEAKER_04Keep the same clothes you've got on right now. Yep.
SPEAKER_07We love you just the way you are. Don't ever change.
SPEAKER_06Okay. And then my brother Tim responds to Levi. I love that his name is My Brother Tim.
SPEAKER_04Is that his username on there?
SPEAKER_06My brother Tim. My brother Tim. No, he his name is just T Gomez, whatever. All right. My brother Tim responds to Levi with, okay, I figure out that Omegan Smiles is you, Levi. For a few days I thought Buffalo Buffalo had three of us listening and commenting. Well, dang, I still consider that we are three. I will call you Omegan.
SPEAKER_04Still only two listening. But we're doing good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06No, you have we have more than two listeners. We do.
SPEAKER_04They keep coming back anyway.
SPEAKER_07Jerry, I don't I don't know. I don't think you were clear enough with our listeners when you told them not to listen anymore.
SPEAKER_06Oh and again, my brother Tim also uh comments on episode 100. The Sierra Nevadas are ribbed for her pleasure.
SPEAKER_07Say that with a little more excitement, Jerry. Why are you being so negative about it?
SPEAKER_06I don't know. And uh Tim writes, dudes, a two-plus-hour episode. I had to listen at 1.5 speed for most of the episode, especially the Oedipus questions and discussions. I did enjoy the discussion of what to do with a murdered person's body. I am now terrified of getting on any boat that is putting out lobster traps, especially if Daphne is on the same boat.
unknownOh my god!
SPEAKER_05Daphne had that ready to go.
SPEAKER_06She's like, well, I'll just my answer is what I always do. Okay. And continuing, it seems like something she has thought about. Oh my god, Schoolie is back. If I had to choose between listening to Schoolie or the traps, I think I will opt for the traps.
SPEAKER_07Hey, Schoolie has to come back sometimes. Just has to come back.
SPEAKER_04Well, it's summer, so Schoolie's out.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so on episode uh 101 Sephori, uh Levi writes, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Timmy, Tim, Tim, Tim, Timmy, Tim. You're the number one fan now. I maybe World War II should not have listened to Daphneri about taking a shot every time Jerber says lucky number, because now I got the brain wiggles. But I don't but I don't drink, so I had to substitute with LSD is 20 too many. I love Tim. He came to my basement and we play Pokemon Dark. That's where you turn the lights off and throw wiffle balls around shouting, Tim, I choose you. Yeah, sometimes. I gotta buffalo them all.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. Thank you. That's like a fun game.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I love that our feedback sections now isn't it's there's no longer feedback for the show. It's just a conversation between other people doing their own things.
SPEAKER_07Honestly, it's great. I mean, it's in the spirit of the show, if you think about it. It makes me want to have a fan meetup, at least, for Tim and Lee.
SPEAKER_04The four of us and Tim and Lee.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, all get together in Dallas. So Jerry's really excited. He's always wanted to meet his brother Tim. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06We had breakfast last week.
SPEAKER_07Okay. You had breakfast last week.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, my brother. You haven't had breakfast since? Yes, I haven't had breakfast since.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_06That is correct. That's rough. No, but my uh my two uh immediate family brothers and I, you know, we are the last three remaining brothers. And well, actually the last three remaining in my immediate family, and so we all get together for breakfast once a month.
SPEAKER_07So That's a really great idea.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_05No, don't apologize.
SPEAKER_06No, we all trade, yeah. We all trade yeah No, we all trade uh which uh which towns we go to. You know, one is my my where we my brother lives in our hometown. And then the next one is Tim's town, and then my next one is and the next one we go to will be here here in Tresmo.
SPEAKER_04Tim's got his own town. That's pretty cool. Yeah, Tim's got his own town.
SPEAKER_06Tim Town.
SPEAKER_07What yeah Tim Town. What you really want, Jerry, is to uh take them to Galveston so that you can go to Maseos.
SPEAKER_06Oh, oh God, I would love they would they would have an equal reaction to Maseos that I did.
SPEAKER_05I just want to see three Gomez's in Maseos. In their like the promised land.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_05Well, I well was it like the golden light and the hair blowing was like I heard an angelic choir when you walked in.
SPEAKER_04You know Jerry loves a place when he decides he just works there and he's gonna start helping everybody else who walks in behind him.
SPEAKER_05You need to get some of this.
SPEAKER_06I don't know what what got into my brain about that. I loved it.
SPEAKER_07Did you get a tray out and like make little lines of the Italian seasoning for people to snatch? I almost wanted to say good.
SPEAKER_06Actually, I should get I should be getting another bottle since.
SPEAKER_07Say, let you take it on the plane. How much of it did you snort before you got home?
SPEAKER_06Oh no, what I did is I I put it in a uh I had to send a parcel home.
SPEAKER_07Okay, because he didn't trust himself not to snore it.
SPEAKER_05No, because because he bought a whole bunch of stuff and he had to send like yeah, like a ten-pound package of spices and everything.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Well spices, the uh the stuffed shark, all the sauces, all the other.
SPEAKER_07It might have been cheaper to buy it a plane ticket home versus shipping it.
SPEAKER_06Probably not. I I didn't really care.
SPEAKER_07Well, if you like what you've heard, you can find us at Buffalo Buffalo Podcast.com or on Facebook and Instagram at Buffalo Buffalo Podcast. Um you'll find us here again next week as we or as I put up with everything that I put up with with these three. Until next time. No, that is not what I meant to play. No, okay.
SPEAKER_04Until next time, copyright strike.
SPEAKER_06I think that'll be the episode time.
SPEAKER_00No, I like the other one better. It's buffalo, buffalo, buffalo, buffalo, yeah. It's big a low big a low.
SPEAKER_05It's big aloe big low.
SPEAKER_00Bye, son.
