Oh, yes. Wonderful. Oh gosh. Well, I have a little story. I just want to share that. I watched this video today. Um so my niece is 12, and I may have mentioned on here before that there seems to be this new thing where kids 10 and older are getting into skincare. It's like the rage for uh for kids.

Yeah. I have noticed though, my my nieces have gotten like huge into skincare routines and all this kind of stuff, where it's like, that's what they want for Christmas, is like masks and and this kind of stuff. Exfoliating agents.

Because this Christmas might be interesting on that front for me, because my niece, well, she'll be 10 this Christmas, so she was nine last year. And so it was a little before that. Like she was asking for like some beauty stuff, but like my brother was like absolutely no makeup, no makeup. Right. The ex the extent was I got her like nail polish stuff. I got her nail stuff, but we left it there. But yeah, this year and then like the next one or two, it could be escalating more than I want. Yeah.

So um let me know. I can send you my list of products that are age appropriate for kids that are actually made for their skin, not you know, oh well, this is what a 17-year-old girl would use. No, this is this is meant for like teen, pre like early teen, pre-teen ages. Well, I watched this video today by this woman who was just talking about this skin craze and the increase in TikTok influencers. Like these eleven, ten, twelve-year-old kids are on TikTok showing their beauty routines. And I'm just like That's so not okay.

And that really needs to be nipped in the bud because there's there's only two types of people that would watch those. One of them is 10 and 11-year-old girls, the other is not.

Oh my god. I have seen comments like on certain like YouTube expose kind of things, and it's like, oh my god, the fact that you would say something like that.

It's horrendous, okay? So I uh the beginning of the video talks about the craze, and then they talk she talks about the TikTok influences, and then she talks about why, and she said um she's she's 24, and she said she grew up with the Disney Channel showing shows like Hannah Montana and uh Wizards of Waverly Place, and um I can't I can't remember what the other one was. There were a bunch of shows where you could see girls your age or a little bit older that you could look up, like characters that were mostly wholesome that you could look up to, and Disney Channel doesn't show any of that anymore, and so there she thinks girls especially are just looking up to what they see on TikTok. And they're talking about aging like it an 11-year-old needs to keep from getting wrinkles, like that, these are the things they're saying.

And I look 11, I could look 10.

And it reminds me too of this whole thing with girls in their 20s getting Botox in every possible procedure, and I'm just thinking when they're my age, their face is gonna just fall off. Because there's so much junk in it, and I just don't understand why this is the norm. Like, this is the norm for people to want to do that.

Um but I can see why women who are older like me would want to look into stuff like that because and this is maybe too serious a topic to have on Buffalo Buffalo, but it's really difficult to be a woman aging because the society norms and the pressure that's put on us to be and look a certain way is horrendous. You just feel like you don't like how you look. And Yeah.

You know, it's fortunate that it's like I I've been graying mostly in in my beard for like eight, ten years since my Really, since my early thirties. And it's the kind of thing where it's like, oh well, that's fine. You know? And I mean I know there are not that there's not plenty of guys who dye you know, there's plenty of guys out there who dye their hair or color their hair or whatever kind of thing, and I'm not saying that no guy cares about that kind of thing, but it's a lot easier as a guy to go gray. Balding is still difficult, can be very difficult. There's still a lot of stigma against that, but n not to any extent close to what women have to deal with. It's it's just it's ridiculous. The amount of products that it's like a woman is expected to basically like inject herself with formaldehyde so she looks twenty for the rest of her life.

Yep. It's not fun, but I made a commitment to myself and honestly to my nieces. I want I'm trying to grow older gracefully because I want them to see that they can and that it's okay. I don't want them to think that they have to inject all of this stuff into their faces. I don't want to do that to myself, but it's really hard because you feel like people look at you and just write you off because you're older. You're not, you know, 25 and plastic or whatever.

It's part of it's part of life. I mean, really. And it's hard, but I'm s I I, you know, I'm being honest. I I struggle with it because I feel like the pressure sometimes is too much. It's just hard. And yeah. I mean, I had to cut some of my hair and I had a fit about it because I understand it's it's one of the things I like about myself, and I didn't want to have to do that. And I know I talked to Jeff and said, well, you know, he came up with the comparison. Well, it's like if I accidentally shaved my half my beard and I had to like shave it off, like that's how it would feel, and that is how I think how it would feel. Like you when something's a big part of your identity, it you just feel strange about it.

And even if other people don't notice it or whatever, even if other people say, Oh, it looks good, you know, I I like the way it looks like it's like it's like it's yeah, but it doesn't feel like me.

So, but that's the thing. And so I guess what I'm saying is the world's very different now than it was when I was growing up. And even this poor, this YouTube like person that was doing this video is only 24 years old. Like it was it's different from when she was growing up.

Um social media has just it's changed things and just watch out for your kids.

You shaved like three times a day. Well, if I could, yeah. But uh my hair is like gray on like on the sides and all the way around the back, and it looks like I have this like crown of black hair. First first, I want to say that I told my sister-in-law she's doing a great job with the girls as far as like after watching this video, and I sent it to her, I told her I said, You're on the right path. Because one of the things they pointed out that this woman pointed out in the video is that these these 10, 12 girl, 10, 11, 12-year-old girls are watching euphoria, which is not something a kid that age should be watching.

Okay. No, um and then two, Jeff, you brought up, you know, how balding is a stigma. Like, still, it shouldn't be.

No, it shouldn't be, but it's very much seen as like a sign of virility to have a full head of hair. Um I mean, it's like it really you believe it or not, there is no connection between between the amount of hair you have and how much of a quote unquote how much of a man you are.

No. And yeah, I feel as difficult as it is for me to deal with my own insecurities and things, I can totally see and have empathy for men going through that. Because it is like losing a piece of your identity if if you are experiencing it, and I don't think there should be that stigma.

I I like I've been I have not been watching the games themselves, but I've been watching uh the extended highlights where they condense the game into like 15 minutes. Um I mean, I would I have nothing against watching a full game. It's not like, no, it's too boring or anything like that. But I I like watching all the different countries, especially the countries that have like never been in the cup or have haven't been in 40 years or something like that. And it's it's cool to watch some of these countries where it's like that's their first ever World Cup goal, you know, that kind of thing. And you know, so the final score is 12-1. No, but it is it is fun. I'm enjoying watching some of it. Yeah.

They're they're from some of my friends that live down there, there's they have just said the atmosphere is fantastic. It's just so wonderful. I think the mayor of Boston is going to partner with a city in Scotland to do something because they have just loved having them there. It's been fantastic.

Texas has been um Paul Revere Slack and didn't do his job because the British were coming and they can't see like some of the videos I've seen were like the people, uh, some of the tour, like the like people from Britain and France and wherever um having barbecue for the first time. Oh, I've seen a lot of Brits trying Tex Mex for the first time videos. They're like, what in the hell is this?

Yeah, um, this was the first time that Scotland made the World Cup in like 28 years, so it was even bigger. And you know, because of their uh time off policy, because they get like they can take weeks of their holiday pay at once. They've just come here to travel to each of this wherever Scotland is playing, they're they're going. Um, it's just fantastic. I think I'm not really into football.

Um yeah, they're not I mean, I'm not really into soccer, but you can't help but get like caught up in the joy and the excitement of this because it's just it's a really big deal. So yeah, the joy. I think there's just so much joy in the World Cup, Jerry. I'm glad that you brought it up because the World Cup, I don't really pay attention to it, but I I just think that it's it's brought some joy and happiness to the people who have been coming to go to the games, and then even to people who live here that are caught up in the excitement of it.
