Ep 34 - Staying Grounded When Headlines Scream War And Fear
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The news cycle is loud, but fear doesn’t get the final word. We dive into Jesus’ warnings about “wars and rumours of wars” and ask a sharper question: how do we stay watchful without being consumed by worry? From UK emergency alerts to rising global tension, we trace how scripture interprets our moment and why “do not be troubled” is an invitation into practised peace, not passive denial.
Together we unpack the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25 and what “extra oil” looks like today: simple, daily habits that build spiritual margin when life feels brittle. We also explore 2 Timothy 3 and the rise of self, money, and deception, discussing frankly false prophets, media overload, and the danger of outsourcing one's faith to personalities. Discernment grows where devotion is nourished, so we share practical ways to guard attention, test teaching, and keep your ear tuned to the Shepherd’s voice.
This is an honest conversation about struggle and hope. One of us opens up about dyslexia, guilt, and the battle for consistency, offering realistic steps: audio Bible, one chapter a day, short prayers that cut through noise, repentance as relief rather than self-condemnation. We close with anchors from Psalm 46 and Isaiah 41:10, reminding ourselves that God is our refuge and strength, and that His peace is stronger than any headline. If this resonates, hit follow, share with a friend who needs steady ground, and leave a review to help others find this conversation. Your voice helps keep the lamps burning.

The Unfiltered Christian Podcast
Shalom, shalom saints, and welcome back to Unfiltered Christian Podcast. I'm Sishi and I'm Shay. And we would like to shout out to a listener from New Jersey, Stratford, who sent us fan mail saying thank you for being authentic and providing scriptures. So this is the first time we received a fan mail, so do send your fan mails. Um today, I don't what can I say it's a question? I don't know, it's just something that has been that I've been seeing that I think it's relevant. Shay, I don't know, have you watched the news recently? Or yeah.
SPEAKER_00Depends on what parts of it. I don't really watch it very often.
SPEAKER_01Like if you was meant to say throughout this year, like if you watch the news, what's like some of the three things that you always see on the news?
SPEAKER_00Uh probably something about war. Um because there's so many conflicts going on at this point. Um something about the president of America and um people dying in different ways. Just so many different attacks, or yeah, people being attacked, innocent people being attacked, um etc. It's probably the pattern I've seen from the news I have watched. Watch it very rarely, but that's what I normally come across.
SPEAKER_01And um this verse has been in my mind, Matthew 24, verses 6, and it says, You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see that you be not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. And I was thinking, like, every time like I scroll through social media or I flip on the TV, like we see like Gaza and Palestine, or we're seeing like Christians being prosecuted for their faith, we're seeing um seeing so many stuff, like even in even in London where we are, um some Jewish people was attacked, we're having Muslims being attacked. There's so many different attacks with um religion, and it feels like the scripture is enfolding right in front of our eyes, because and it's especially the fact that it's in so Matthew's in the New Testament, um, so there's so much fair division, uncertainty, but Yashua's words weren't meant to scare us, there was that it's meant to comfort us. So today I just want to like talk on that. So, Shay, when you look at everything that's happening, the wars, the fears, the news that never seems to stop. How do you personally stay grounded in Yeshua's word when he said, See that you shall not be troubled?
SPEAKER_00It sounds silly, but I feel like you could answer that question better than me. I don't I don't think I have a I don't know, let me think. Um okay, maybe wise with this. I feel like because of knowing the truth of God's word, like especially pertaining to that scripture that you have highlighted. I think once I found out about that scripture, it is giving me much more peace. I'm not saying I'm a peace of what's happening, more peace in regards to knowing that God is gonna work it out. Like he already knew that these things were gonna happen. And as much as like, don't get it twisted, I still have like anxious thoughts, especially when you hear. Um, when did I hear this? I think a few weeks ago, because we had like an alert that went across the whole entire nation that popped up in everybody's phone. And someone said to me that you see that often. I haven't seen it before personally, but I've heard people say, like, oh, it's normal, but I don't see it as normal because I'm like, I know there's parts of the world, I know in America, like there's some states or and stuff that get those alerts all the time. But for me, in my lifetime being in England, I've never seen it. So I thought, wow, is this where we're at now? But that that's because there's been stuff said about what could come our way um on this side of the world, and I'm thinking, oh my gosh, am I sitting in a bubble? Am I not realizing that it's only by the grace of God that I'm safe every day or that my family's safe every day? Um and so being in the scripture, like literally keeping my nose in the scripture, which I don't think I do enough, and educating myself, or even Bible studies on these things, can calm your anxiety and bring you peace on okay, this is what God said, and it's not happening randomly, it's literally written. So the fact that it's written means that it will happen, but God also knew this would be the process, this is what's gonna happen, and so we have more security in knowing the fact that he will always have the last word, and he will all work it out in the end for his good. It doesn't mean that we can't pray, because I think that's where my struggle was as well. When I read that scripture, it's like, okay, God said it's meant it's gonna happen, so what can I really do? But I think where that's where I had to find the balance to be like, okay, yes, I'm aware of this, but it doesn't mean I shouldn't pray because these are innocent people losing their lives, it doesn't mean that I shouldn't encourage, it doesn't mean I shouldn't help, it doesn't mean I shouldn't volunteer to contribute to these aids or whatever it is that may be needed. Um, but you have a bit more peace that you know that Elohim is literally working this out for his good because his coming is soon, and then also it's the signs that you need as well to show you that his coming is soon. So it also prepares you, knowing that, like, okay, God spoke of this, like, this is a sign, it it grounds my mind, like it makes me fix up even more to be okay. No, come on, get yourself together. Like, these things are happening right in front of you. You need to now start um focusing your life much more, so it also encourages me to fix up to to to slap myself out of that silliness I've been in, whatever place that I'm doing, whatever I'm doing in the place I've been, and just not focusing on my walk with with God. It just like it just, you know, like I don't know, it's like a it's like a form of I don't even know what's the right word, but um, I don't know, it snaps me out of that place to be like, do you know what? It's not about you, it's not about um that little thing that someone did to upset you yesterday. There's bigger things happening in the world, and you need to project your energy in another way. Project it on the word, project it on praying for those who are in need, project it on seeing where you can provide support and help for those in need in whatever way, instead of focusing on myself and things that's just not even really that important. So I guess, yeah, that's my answer. That's the different things that I can think of, or an extension of things that I can think of that I can do to keep myself grounded in these times.
SPEAKER_01I think the the first one within the UK um with the alerts was I think two years ago, three years ago. Um because I remember that when they announced it, but it didn't, not everybody got it. Um, and you can also switch it off because sometimes I think people don't have it turned on on their phone because you can actually switch off the alerts. Um, but I think it it probably would have been scary for you because I remember the first time when it happened, like your phone is just like vibrating, and some people's phones will be flashing, and you're like, whoa, what's going on? And the vibration is really hard.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um I remember that was the first time. So when it happened this time, I was just like, oh, let me switch this thing off. Because the vibration is hard, like when you hold it in your hand. I think it's I think sometimes it's amazing that we have a book full of knowledge, um, but yet we say we know, but we don't know. Um as you're saying, like as it's saying, that's see that you're not troubled, but yet we are troubled. Like if something was meant to, because right now, and right now I feel like within the UK we don't experience anything. Like in America, you guys have like um the wildfires, you have um hurricanes and stuff like that. The same for the Caribbean and like Asia, they have like tsunamis and they have so many different stuff, and the UK have nothing. Um yeah, like literally, we don't really have anything. So I think if something was meant to hit the UK right now, I don't think many of us would find comfort in in that verse. I think everyone will be like fearful and forgetting what he said. Um and I just wanted to ask you, like, why do you think that is? Why do you think like as humans we just forget his word?
SPEAKER_00As you were as you were saying that, um, we're just simply too comfortable. I think that's the the the simplest way to drop it. We're just comfortable. Um, like you said in the UK, like we're not experiencing these things. Yes, there's things happening, but not on a worldwide epidemic wave, that makes any sense. Um, because we've got our own stuff that's happening. That's really a lot. Like you said, the attacks and stuff like that. We've had some major protests the other day, um linked to, you know, kind of refugees and all this stuff. And even that I thought was gonna spiral. I thought that there was gonna be random attacks on the street, just anybody and anybody. I thought that protest was gonna project uh um kind of trigger just random people attacking others, like just in it. Like I that's what I thought. I just thought, oh my gosh, like I don't know. Um so I like I agree, I don't think we're gonna be ready, we we would be ready. What I did think about before I answer your question is that it's sad to say that we're not ready because we're not used to it, and I think that's really sad. Like, why would we have to be used to it to be ready? You know? Um, but also it's a struggle as human beings, we're a creature of habit, so only if something is happening continuously that we get used to it. Um, but we're too comfortable. Um, we're just chilled, we're relaxed. We just feel like because it's not happening or we're not seeing it, then you know what's my stress? What do I need to be praying for or whatever? Like, why do I need to be in the word like that? You know? Um, yeah, that that's that's what it is simply for me. Because I know what that feeling is like, you just get so comfortable, and um like instead of us in that comfortable time, quote unquote comfortability, when your mind's at peace instead of panicking, is when we should be seeking out truth. Um, but instead we wait until something comes to attack us, or like when we go through panic mode, like say, for example, like something did happen, God forbid, but something happened, that's when we're like, oh my gosh, you know, someone did say the Bible said something about this. Like, can we go quickly and look? Like, you know, like suddenly you want to know when actually the same way that you would train for a job, um, you would train at the gym, you know, you would train, like, say you if you're, I don't know, you're a boxer, you would train, you would train to be ready. Why are we not training ourselves to be ready? Um, and this is where we are really, really lacking. This is our problem. We can't just wait until stuff goes down. Like, God already speaks of this, like, there's gonna be a point where um things are gonna get more rough than this, and we can't wait until that time comes to now be educating ourselves. Um, the time is now. While you do have the time to receive the information, you know, the talk the Bible talks about fleeing, um, fleeing to the hills. I don't know if it says actually fleeing from the city, because someone tried to say it says that before, but I was like, does it? Maybe another version does. But it talks about us having to flee because you know the city's gonna get so sinful, like it's gonna be so bad that you're just gonna struggle to live in the city, like you're gonna struggle to live in all these areas, like there's gonna be so much happening. Um, and some of us are so comfortable that we're not even gonna be able to just grab and go because we're gonna see as like, why do I have to do that? But the word speaks of this. Um, the word speaks of it, and that's why some people, there's so many people that are trying to be minimalists and stuff in how much stuff they have, and um, you know, just to not be so overly comfortable, and those people who are practicing that are not even on a um Christian path, you know, or any type of path. Like a lot of those people are doing that, they're prepared to flee, but in a different way, because they're they're thinking about their own thing of what they believe and why they want to flee, or why they want to be a minimalist, but we're not thinking the same way, um, in regards to just not needing much and just um just trying to not stay in such an overly comfort comfortable place because Elohim says that this is not our home, it's not our permanent home, and I think once we get that into our minds, like genuinely, like that needs to be embedded into your heart and into your mind. I think once we have that pat down, we'll be able to try to, I won't say manage, because without him, we can't get through anything, but then we'll start to do the right things, like turn into him more, lean in him more so that he can guide us exactly where we need to go. Hmm.
SPEAKER_01I want you to find 2 Timothy, Timothy, sorry, 3, verses 1 to 2, while I break down the ten versions. So um in Matthew 25, uh verses verses um 1 to 13, it talks about the ten virgins, and five had the Holy Spirit. So I see those five as they were ready, they were waiting for their bridegroom, which is yeah, they was waiting for their bridegroom, they were studying, they was doing all what all what they needed to do to be ready. And then you had the five foolish who were just living, living and being, as Shay said, comfortable. And when the bridegroom came, um the others were sleeping. The five the five foolish were sleeping. I haven't read this story for a long time. I should have read it before I came on, but you just made me think about that story. Um the five I think the the the five foolish ones didn't have oil in their lamp. That was it. While the wise virgins had oil in their lamp. So by the time that the groom came, they were sleeping and they had no oil in their lamps.
SPEAKER_00Can I add they didn't have extra? So they um they had, but they only bought like just um like what they would say, quote unquote, just enough, basically, they didn't cater that to the fact that it might take a bit longer for the bridegroom to come. Whereas the other ones, they went, they actually made sure they had enough and more. Okay, so that just in case, yeah, you know, so that's why they had more that the five the five wise virgins had more. Yeah, just wanted to add.
SPEAKER_01And so, yeah, at midnight there was a cry, the bridegroom comes, and they went out to meet him, and the foolish said unto the wise, Give us oil for our lamps, have gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so, least there be not enough for us and you, but go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves. So while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. Afterwards afterwards came also the other virgin saying, Master, master, open to us, but he answered and said, Truly I say unto you, I know you not. So it just shows how like the whole of Matthew is kind of deep, actually. I need to read back into Matthew. Um, but it just shows that we're so into ourselves, which Shay is gonna read, we're so into our life on this earth, which we know that this is not, as Shay was saying, this is not, this is our life just for now, but we're so invested in it that we want everything, like you know, we want children, we want a house, we want this, we want that, like our prior, and not saying those things are not important, but those things override our priorities with ya, that we we could so easily be the five foolish, because it's just like okay, I'm going to church, I'm reading my Bible, I'm having time with him, but where is your heart? Because when you think about it, I think what we need to look at is that you know, sometimes when we look at when I look at martyrs, and martyrs just basically people who die for ya, I'm nowhere near where they are yet. Like if someone was meant to say, I'm gonna cut off your head if you don't deny ya, I don't know if I could do it. I might just be like, Do you know what y'all would forgive me? But you've got so many people that are being crucified for their faith. And it's like that's because all they all they care about is ya, yah is their main priority, and then everything else comes second, and that is where I want to be. I want to be like not so into the world that I have to watch everything that comes on Netflix and watch this and watch that and be so in the world that I don't have enough oil in my lamp. And so when there's wars and rumors of wars, I'll be able to hear his voice. If you could just read the tempt the Timothy.
SPEAKER_00So, 2 Timothy chapter 3, verses 1 to 2, and it says, You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money, they will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. Um wow, Steve. I wanted to uh I wanted to say, did you want to break down what that story about the five versions, the ten versions symbolizes?
SPEAKER_01Take the mic.
SPEAKER_00Um, so that story, even though the bridegroom is um Elohim, like Cece has specified, this is basically speaking of the people who will be. Ready for his soon coming and those that will not be ready. So the five virgins with their oil or you know, that had enough oil for his coming, um, are the ones that were ready, and the others were the ones that were not ready, and just similarly to what I was the other five, sorry, right, be specific, were the were the ones that were not ready, the five virgins that wasn't ready. But then also it this definitely connects to what I was saying in regards to like waiting until something bad happens to be prepared. So, like you see how they now went out to go and purchase oil. Like, it was too late. Do you know what I mean? Like, it was literally too late. So we they weren't ready. So it's the same thing, like now what I'm speaking of. We have to keep our eyes peeled and open, but also our nose in the word, because we might not be ready and prepared for when now Jesus comes back, and then we're just there, like what? I didn't even know because you don't you didn't know what were the the signs, what were the things that he's prophesied about and said that this will be, this will be, this will be, you know. Um, and you don't want to be on that surface level of like, oh, you know, you're gonna have to grow at some point basically in your walk. When you start off, it's always great and fairy tales, and I love him, and he loves me. And that's not that I'm not saying that's not true, but you need to get deep down into truth, and some of the truth is some, it may seem hard to swallow. Trust me, I'd be reading this stuff like, oh my gosh, this is this is a lot. But it's important that you know you do not want to be unprepared, like the five virgins that wasn't prepared, and then by the time the bridegroom came, the door was closed, and that was it. You don't want that to be your salvation. For Elohim to close the I'm just saying metaphorically because I don't know if he's gonna close a gate, but for him to close a gate, and then you you cannot enter. Um, you know? So yeah, I just wanted to break down that story to explain what that's compared to that is for us, and is symbolizing those who will be ready and those that will not be ready. And what happens to those who are not ready, he will cut you off, that'll be it. You know, they would have gone to to heaven and left you like just there, because you're thinking, hang on, and you know, you could be the one that's not ready. You don't want to be that one, and I pray that you're not, but um, I pray that none of us are, by the way, because we don't have that um we don't have that knowledge about whether it's going to be us. Um, you can only walk in hope. But the main thing is to just ask him for your guidance, for his guidance, sorry. Ask him for his guidance and let him take you to the place where you need to be so you can be prepared and he will do the rest. Um, yeah. So I just wanted to add that in there.
SPEAKER_01I think it'd be good to read Matthew as well, because Matthew has so many um verses where he's giving in like and this is this is Jesus' words that he'll be saying to us, he's preparing us for what we should do. Um, because in those days, like, especially people that you look up to, like you might look at a pastor and think, you know, I follow him or I listen to this person, and sometimes that's what the enemy is gonna use to deceive us, because like you know, we look up to this person or that person so much that that person might say, like, oh, do you know what this is correct, and it's not, and he even even in his word as well, Matthew 24, verses 23, it says, Then if anyone says unto you, and this is Jesus talking, look, here is the Christ, or there, do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, even possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So he's we read all of this. We've like for many of us, we read the Bible, but are we reading it? Like, especially what we're seeing right now. We're seeing so many like governments just worldwide, just intertwining, people are dying. We see this, but we need to stop being comfortable because this is where we'll be deceived. There'll be people running to and fro, and you'll be thinking, Oh, who should I follow? Oh, let me call this person, you know. Like he's I think he's really the man of God, and but now he's his head is his head is turned, and this is why he like even with the um with the disciples, he used to tell them, like, we need to pray, but the disciples didn't want to pray, they wanted to sleep, and he's just saying, we need to be so intertwined with Yah, we need to be praying and reading, praying and reading so that we won't be fooled. And I even speak to myself, it's a wake-up call to me um today, because many of us is just like, am I not meant to have a life? Is my life meant to just be boring? Should I I'm not allowed to do this and this already? So, but it's kind of like if you want to be a follower of Yah and if you want to be saved, like and if you want to fall in love with him and you say that you love him, like your character, your walk, and everything should just represent him, that you'll be just like so in love. And you know, one there's a particular people that I I fall in love with, and they're Filipinos, like when I hear them talk about Yah and how they're so connected with him, and like you know, like they're they're at church from like Sabbath school things that they talk about, they just make you fall in love with y'all, and sometimes I'm like, you know, I when I was my strongest was when I was first baptized, and I'm trying to get there, but when I look back at what I did, I cut off everything, I cut off everything worldly. There was no I didn't watch no shows that didn't represent ya. Um, and if anything didn't represent ya, I wouldn't watch it, I wouldn't entertain it, I wouldn't listen to it, and that's where I want to get back to because half of the things that I watch now, like me watching Love is Blind, like or like certain stuff, it's like sometimes we get distracted and forget what our main purpose is because we get blinded with so many things that is is going on, and then it's it's okay to realize you know what, I've slipped up here, like I was in a bubble here, but y'all help me because it's not easy, you know. Many there's so many people that are dealing with financial hardship, you know, fertility issues, the list goes on. Um, you know, not having a permanent home over your head, not being in a job that is paying, um, living in debt. So sometimes these things um outweigh our relationship with Yah because they're consuming us more. But what we need to do is literally hand it over, hand these problems over to him. And he because he's the only one, he's the only one that can help us, he's the only one that can do everything. Like when we read his word, especially in the New Testament, with all the miracles that he done and performed, like we see it, we know it, but we still don't believe.
SPEAKER_00That was well said. I don't think I can even add to that. Um, I think this this this this discussion is quite a tough one for me. Um, because I'm still going through this battle. Um, and I'm one of those people who struggle to see things always as a wake-up call. Sometimes I see it as like condemnation. Um, and I know there's a few people out there that see it like that as well. Let's be honest. Sometimes you hear stuff about the right way and what you're meant to do, but it doesn't come across. Like, I wish it came across that easily to me, the way other people would be like, oh, do you know what? God is just trying to teach me. Like, I don't get that feeling. I literally just feel so much guilt. Um, and sometimes I genuinely I just don't it's so tough because I just don't have that passion at times to just passion is not the word. Let me change it. Passion's not the word. I just the world has just turned us so much that I don't get excitement about saying I'm gonna sit in the quiet and read the Bible. Um I guess it's not meant to be exciting, it's meant to be like your time of God and educational, but sometimes it can feel so heavy and so serious that it's like it's it's an intense moment, and my mind's not there sometimes, and that's me being so unfiltered because that's what this is. Um and I don't know if anyone else is battling with this out there, it's not easy um at all, but we have to keep pushing, that's what I do know. Walking away is not an option, that's why I always tell myself, even if I'm struggling and I struggle with processing information. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, like I have dyslexia and reading is not my thing. I don't like to read. Um, this has been a forever battle for me on my how many years has it been now? I'm gonna say eight-year journey, like consciously deciding to it's it's been eight or nine years, but yeah, my nine-year journey. I can't believe it's been nine years, it doesn't feel like nine years because it's been a battle in the past nine years, it really has been. Um, and having to really get used to so many different things, and I'm still not where I need to be at all because I feel embarrassed at times to be like it's been nine years, but with my struggle with like reading and staying consistent as well, that's really, really tough for me. Like the fact that I've been reading a chapter a day, even though I've missed days for this whole year, is probably the longest commitment I've had to anything. This is not just to do with, this is not just to do with Elohim in general, it's probably the longest commitment I've had to anything. Um and so like I said, quitting is not an option. It's just plain and simple as that. Walking away is not an option because there's nothing else better than serving Elohim. Like there's nothing else better than placing your life in his hand. Even if you struggle to give him all of your life. Um, I feel like if we focused more on giving him all of our lives instead of some of it, because look what he does when you just give him a little bit of control. Or a little not control, I don't even know that's the correct word, but do you know what I mean? Like when you give up things to him and just say, Do you know what, Lord, you take control, you know, you guide this and look how much he can do, much as if you just said, Do you know what? Here's everything. Um, so this is a reminder for me that I need to start praying again, like Lord, you know, still, as much as I've been reading your word, it's still reading in general is just not my thing. It's not something that gives me joy, it's not something I struggle to stay focused. Um, processing information can be frustrating for me. And so it it that's what makes it more of a battle. Um, I feel like for those who love to read, I feel like to me, reading the Bible or reading books and Christian books and that kind of stuff is a bit easier, but for me it's just a battle. So just know that if you're going through that, you're not in it by yourself, and just keep pushing. Do not give up. That's what I will say, and just continue to call out to Elohim, just call out to him and say, Lord, I that's just it's just not, but know that we need it, and I think that's where I force myself because I know that I need I need it without me feeding my spirit with the word, which do I have? I can't go off the word of man. I need to go back to the word, even if someone tells me the Bible says I need to go see it for myself, and so there's nothing better than receiving that word for yourself. I read a scripture this morning, it had nothing to do with what I felt convicted with. I don't think it did, anyways, but it was similar, like, and I felt convicted about something that I didn't think about um at all, and it was something I did this week, and I'm very disappointed in myself. But because I was caught up in self and I was frustrated, I just indulge in something I know is not correct. Um, and so that's what happens when you read the word, you know, and then it's great because you're not walking with that sin constantly. Now it's been highlighted to you. Now you can pray about it. Now it's like, oh, you know, and you start to have a relief when stuff like that happens as well. Because at first I used to be like, oh my gosh, what a horrible person. But then after that, I was like, Lord, thank you for highlighting that to me. I'm so sorry I shouldn't have done this. Like, please help me. It is still a struggle for me, even though I'm repenting. You know, it's a struggle for me and remove me from these situations um and these conversations, whatever it may be. Um, so yeah.
SPEAKER_01I think before I ask you my last question, I think if there's anybody who um struggles to read or can't read, um you could always like listen to the Bible audio as well. Um and depending on what you have available to you, you can even listen to it on YouTube. Um if you could get somebody to type in, for example, like Matthew 25, and then you could um listen to it. Um, so that's another thing because there's there's times when I I love reading, but there's times where um I'm put I'm putting a decision where like I don't want to read, so I would listen as well. So that's something that you can do. Um, because I know not everybody has like Spotify or or iTunes or all these different platforms, but you could um watch it on YouTube. So to round this up, my last question to you is how do we stay watchful without being consumed by worry?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I'm I'm laughing, not a question about myself as I heard that question, because I'm like, you still worry. How do you stay watchful without being consumed about I to be honest, I don't know how to answer that question. I'm not really sure how to I think I don't know, I don't know if I don't know if it's gonna seem like I'm repeating myself, but to me it just goes back to what I was saying before about being in the world word um because of knowing the truth. But uh no, that's not what it is. I think I'm struggling with questions today. Um I think it's just uh trying to believe, because it's not always easy to believe, that or reminding yourself, sorry, that Elohim is always gonna work it out. You can be watchful. I think it's important that we know what's going on. But going back to that same scripture in Matthew of what you said, you're like about rumors of war, right? We're aware, having that awareness and knowing that okay, these things are happening, right? But it's not my burden to carry, in the sense of like my worry to carry. So, like I said before, it doesn't mean you don't pray, it doesn't mean you doesn't you don't try to help, you don't try to see how you can contribute to the help of that cause, but it is just praying for your mind to be at peace with Elohim's word, because sometimes we can read it and your mind's just not at peace with it. You're like, but God, why? Why does this have to be? You know, you are the creator of the heavens and the earth. Why is it that we have to go through this? Why is it? But like I said, through study and through the word, you'll understand why. Um we as human beings is are the ones that who brought sin to the world. It wasn't God. He didn't give us a world that was not perfect, he gave us a perfect world, and we are the ones that have ruined the world. And through reading the words, you'll realize that it's through our act of sin that's made the world so sinful, and that is the reason why these things are happening. And all we can do is just try our best to stay focused on him daily and ask him to help us with those anxious thoughts and feelings that we're having with what's with what's happening. Because it's just it's not as simple as just going, oh, do you know what? Just don't worry. It's alright, God's got this, it's not that simple. Um and sometimes you might do that, and it doesn't mean you're heartless, it's just that your trust is on that level where you're just like I know God has got this, he's got this. Um, so it doesn't mean that you're even heartless at all, because people might perceive it that way, but it's just knowing always that like he is in control of it all. It's as simple as that, and it's not your burden to carry. That's also very important. That's my second thing. Do not be carrying it as if like it is your fault or is you that has to fix everything, and you that has to work this out. No, our creator's got that covered. He's in control of all of that, and I think that's where you can find the balance. I'm still trying to find that balance because I don't even watch the news. Um, I don't even watch the news because it's too much. But it's just reminding yourself of the things that you do know of that's been happening that you just stay pray for for those who are going through that because we don't have a clue what it's like to go through those things. We cannot fathom, we cannot even we we couldn't empathize, sympathize, none of it with what people are facing. Like, imagine your daily routine where you get to eat, you get to sleep, and there's just people there with their children that cannot even think to close their eyes because you might have to run again, or there might be a bomb that goes off. Or like, could you you just can't even no? So it's important as brothers and sisters of Elohim that we are praying for our sisters and brothers out there.
SPEAKER_01There's even a verse on that as well in Matthew. Um, I can't remember, but it basically says, like, may you not be pregnant or like may you not be breastfeeding in those times because you'll be running.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01Um, there's a Bible verse and that. I always remember, I always remember that verse. So like he he's he's he's prepared us, do you know what I mean? We can't say like, oh, like you know, we're so consumed in what we want, do you know what I mean? And he's not saying it's like not to do these things, but this is why it's so important. Like throughout the podcast, if you listen out while we talk about why it's important to have a husband that's in y'all or a wife is in yar, so that your household is one. So when those times come, it will be easier because we are gonna be going to and fro. We're gonna be he's he's gonna say, like, look, you need to go to the the mountain, and you might think it's difficult, but he's already created a way, so it's about us believing that you know what, it's it's gonna be okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Truth, well said, and you don't want to be in that subject, like you don't want to be around others who are just.
SPEAKER_01In disbelief of, and you will be, you will be around others, and that's why his word, like the word that I said, like there'll be people saying, like, Jesus is there, or do this, or do that. But when you're so strong, and I think for me, this is a wake-up call. I didn't expect for me to read this and be so convicted today, like this morning, like I was busy talking about Love Island, and now it's like he's woken me up, and this is what this is it's like a it's it's it's a sweet side to be like, okay, you know what? Now I've gotta leave this alone, but it's kind of like what is what is more important, my salvation, or me stay living in this world. Do you know what I mean? And I want to just say, like, um, to like wrap it up, you know, what brings me comfort is remembering that Yahuwah has already promised to protect his people. We were never meant to carry all of this fear because he's already in control, and I want to leave you with two Bible verses um before I pray, which is Psalms 46 verses 1 to 2. It says, Elohim is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble, therefore we will not fear. And Isaiah 41 10 says, Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your Elohim. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteousness right hand. So even when the headlines are loud, Yahuwah's voice is louder. His peace is not dependent on what the world looks like. It's rooted in who he is. Father Yahuwah, we thank you that you are still on the throne. Even when the world feels unstable, you remain unshaken. You told us not to be troubled, so we rest in that promise today. Cover us under your wings, Adanai. Shield our minds from fear, and remind us that you have not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Protect our homes, our families, and everybody who is listening right now. Let your peace, the kind that surpasses all understanding, fill our hearts and our thoughts. In Yahshua's name. Amen.
SPEAKER_00Amen.
