One day you and I are going to go to court. We say in Ireland, you can put the kettle on for it. In other words, you can be sure you're going to court. Now, if you're not saved, you're going to stand before the great white throne judgment and get your marching orders to a lost eternity. If you are saved, it's in front of the Bima relating to works so that we can get rewards. But settle this in your head as I try to settle it in my head. Come what may, we're all going to court. We're going to court. But it would be horrific if it was the great white throne judgment. Imagine if you were going to court charged with murder and it was coming up next week and you'd had two years to sweat about it and you were sick about it. Your whole family's upset and you get a phone call. And the phone call says, All charges have been dropped. Forget it. There's no court case, it's over. If you have accepted Christ, all charges have been dropped. You will never be at the great white throne judgment. Why? Because somebody, the Messetes, stepped in and said, I'll take care of business on his behalf. Even if you were guilty, I'll take care of business. That's what a Messetes is, not just somebody who mediates. Let me give the further illustration. Here is a mediation, somebody that owes money than somebody that the money's owed to. And the mediator is trying to come to a balance here. That's a mediator. But a Messes goes beyond a mediator because a Messes says, well, now I want you two to come together, but if you don't have the money, I'll pay for it as well. So I'll not only bring you together, but I'll pay the debt also. That's a Messes or somebody who's a guarantor or a surety. The problem is, if you were facing a real court case and your lawyer or the advocate or the barrister, we call them in Ireland, if he would call you and say all charges have been dropped, you would be delighted. But in the court of eternity, there's nobody that can say that except one person. There's no lawyer who can do it because only one person has got the money to pay the bill. And that's the person who's got untainted blood. And his name is Jesus, our Pontifex. But beyond that, the Messethes, the one who'll pay for us, and then make sure all is well with a God who was angry with us because of our sin and bring us together in perfect harmony forever and a day.
