Project 20 - Week 5 update
Welcome back to Project 20! 🎉 Week 5 is in the books, and I'm definitely feeling the fatigue. This week introduced Bulgarian split squats into my leg strength sessions, adding a new challenge to my routine. 💪
This week’s highlights:
- Discovering Bulgarian split squats
- Managing fatigue from strength training
- Balancing streak running with new exercises
The fatigue is real, but I'm staying disciplined with my Zone 1 and Zone 2 runs. Let's see how next week goes as I push through this challenging phase. 🚀
If the five week fatigue syndrome is a thing, I have it. I, the week started off with me Googling the new exercises that coach Carl had put in my program. And so I started the week Googling Bulgarian split squats and then doing them obviously. So I think there's now about seven different things in my, leg strength session. And, now including these Bulgarian split squats and I blame them. They're the ones that felt hard and heavy as I did them. And then, altered the way I walked for the next couple of days. And then in the programming had me do them again. and I just, yeah, when you add something, big like that on top of the other stuff with my, and it's just, that whole running, streak running and what I'm doing at clashing. And that's okay. It wasn't unexpected, but it certainly made me tired this week. So my five week update on the project is stuff's happening. That's for sure. And I'm tired and I'm fatigued and it's all fine and good, but that's what's going on for me at the moment. And some days I've You know, sometimes when I go through a fatigue period in streak running, I'll just wake up one morning and I'll be like, Oh, I'm back to normal. But Oh, it's, it seems to be cumulative at the moment. And hopefully that'll change soon, but five weeks in, I've certainly got some body fatigue all over and it's the strength sessions doing it. Certainly not the running because I'm doing that low zone one zone two very well. I think, I'm, being quite disciplined in keeping my slow running happening. So it's the strength stuff that, going from zero strength to five weeks of it, is with the streak running is catching up. That's for sure. So that's my five week update. Tired, just tired. And, let's hope that, next week is a different Update.
