Project 20 - Week 9 Update | Journey to a Sub 20 Minute 5K Parkrun
Welcome back to Project 20! 🎉 Week 9 is complete, and I’m feeling good as I near the halfway point of my 20-week program. With 11 weeks to go, I’ve got 40 seconds left to shave off my time to reach that sub-20-minute 5k goal. 💪
This week, we took a break from speed sessions to recover from the time trial, but there were still hills and strength training to keep the legs working. I’m feeling strong and ready to tackle the upcoming challenges.
Let’s see where this journey takes me as we push into the second half of the program! 🚀

No, it's not this year's. And I'm not getting one this year because I'm on a running program. I'm on a running program to get to, well, to tidy that up. I want to get to sub 20 minutes for 5k park run, test a couple, last week. Oof, time flies when you're in a run program. Um, we tested 20, 30 something. we've got some week nine of a 20 week program. So almost halfway. And I think it's really, we're almost halfway and I've got 40 seconds to. Jay, I hope, I hope coach knows what he's doing. Uh oh. Anyhow, I actually feel really good this week. apart from that moment. I hope we get it sorted. Uh, and uh, look, no speed session this week. I think there was a break from the test, but there was hills. there was strength training. but I just, I don't know. I think maybe I've got past that initial, just whumper onto the legs of, you know, hills and strength training and doing actual effort in my speed sessions, which I think is probably important. So, but I feel good. So week nine, 11 weeks to go. And, I can see that, you know, it's already been tweaked in the programming that's coming through the final surge app that, coach Kyle uses. So, and speed session on Tuesday morning. I think it's being, strongly employed. I've got to turn up to them fresh to just really, put in to the speed sessions so that I then get the return from, the effort put into speed sessions. So, it's Sunday, looks pretty good so far and it's an easy run tomorrow, long run today, but I think we'll be on track to rocking up Tuesday morning and being able to bring it for speed session. so that's week 9 update. 11 to go.
