Project 20 - Week 14 Update | Feeling Faster and Pushing Through the Hard Sessions
Welcome back to Project 20! Week 14 is done, and it’s been another great week! I’m definitely getting faster, and I’ve really come to understand that the more effort I put into these sessions, the more I get out of them.
Speed sessions are going well, but hills... they’re the worst! Still, they’re helping build strength and endurance, so I’m leaning into them. Six weeks to go, and we’re two weeks away from another time trial. I’m thinking about testing my ability to hold a 3:55-3:58 pace for as long as possible as a personal indicator of progress.
Things are coming together, but there's still work to do! Let’s see how it unfolds.

Week 14 of my 20 week program to chase sub 25k and it's another great week where I absolutely I'm getting faster. I know that the sessions are hard work and I'm certainly really understanding that what you put into a session is what you get out of it. The more you put into it, the more it has on building strength or speed or fitness or endurance. So I'm really Leaning into those sessions and making the worst of them. I jumped ahead to the next sentence where I was going to talk about hills and they're just the worst, so. Make the most of my speed session. Hills are the worst. They're still very good. I did some hills last week. that was the worst part. See, I just jumped ahead Anyhow. Another great week. Week 14. Six to go. So I guess we're two weeks away from a bit of a time trial again. That'll be fun. I don't know what the plan is on that one. I'll chat to coach and he might, uh, go with my plan of I'd like to go out at pace like 358, 355, and just, Let's see how long we can hold that. And that'll, you know, for me, I think will be a really big indicator of how I'm traveling. It might not be what he's looking for for an indicator, but I think mentally for me, if I can hold on for say more than three kilometers at pace, I'll feel like, I think eventually that'll give me, you know, a, a, a boost or a tick or a, an indication that it's coming together. So, that's the, that's the week 14 update, six weeks to go. So, it wasn't going to be easy. so it's not like it's all on track and a walk in the park. I think it's all on track and there's lots of work for me to do, but it's coming together.
