Project 20 - Week 21 Update | Lingering COVID Fatigue and Pushing Through
Welcome back to Project 20! Week 21 is done, and the lingering fatigue from COVID is still affecting my training. Just five weeks ago, I was at peak fitness with a PB of 20:11, feeling stronger than ever. Now, the fatigue is holding me back, and recovery feels slow.
It’s frustrating, but I’m committed to showing up every day, hoping that normal energy levels return soon. Then, I’ll be able to reassess the timeline for hitting that sub-20 goal. For now, I’m just taking it day by day.

Week 21 and of a, well, what was a 20 week program. And I don't know how I I've still, I'm not back to where training was. So this tiredness that's going on from COVID still there. So I think until my training's back to where it was, or I feel back to, I mean, I, it was what, five weeks ago that I did a 2011 and I was using the words peak fitness. In my conversation with people about how I felt, I was at peak fitness. I was the, saying I was the fittest I ever was in life. And and COVID went, hold my beer. And poured, poured all over that optimism, didn't it? I'm tired. I, I mean, The COVID bit itself was like this three day, you know, I had the sniffles and a head cold, but I just, and my body, my body's still sore and I'm tired and that just, I can't shake that. And maybe my daily running's prolonging that recovery, because it certainly prolongs recovery with a whole lot of other stuff. But I guess that's the reality of it. And it's frustrating because even I'm like, Oh, maybe I just pause all this and come back to it next year. But that's not what a daily runner does, I guess. So I don't know. I'm just, I'm, I'm turning up, I'm doing the training and hopefully. At sometime soon, it all comes back and feels normal again, and then I can go, Right, okay, four weeks from now, or six weeks from now, but I'm not even at that point where I can go, Let's kick it back to normal. So, that's where I'm at, week 21, just, you know, Go away COVID.
