Project 20 - Week 24 Update | Time Trial Reflections and Next Steps
Welcome back to Project 20! Week 24 is done, and today’s time trial at Sandgate parkrun didn’t go as planned. I started strong with a 3:55 first kilometre, but by the second kilometre, the mental and physical challenge got the better of me.
Daily running and lingering recovery from COVID may still be impacting me, and I’m taking some time to reflect on how to proceed. My coach believes I’m capable of this, so I need to let that resonate as I consider the next steps—whether that’s another four-week cycle or a different approach.
Thanks for following along on this journey. Let’s see what’s next!

It was, what is it, week 24 of my Project 20, which was meant to be 20 weeks, and we're at week 24 time trial today at at Parkrun Sandgate to see how I, you know, go, and cause we were gonna see how this went, and in four weeks time, that would be the new goal date, and yeah nah First kilometre was 358. First kilometre felt hard, second kilometre there was, the voice in my head was like, Why run in the first place? What's all this about? And that voice won. By the time I clicked over to the end of that second kilometre, I was just like, like, just, just Like, why? And I, I don't know if it was that it was harder or the voice one, I don't know which one was which, but I just, I couldn't hold it today, and I, I, Yeah, yeah nah, that was, that's it, yeah nah I've already spoken to coach about, he called to see how I went, and I went, So I'm pondering look, I honestly, I think daily running impacts my recovery. I know that. And then I forget about that. And so I think this is just another one of those. My daily running impacts my recovery and my recovery from COVID is just taking a little longer and maybe I'm down to the voice in my head. I don't know, but maybe we'll, I don't know if another four week cycle is I need to spend some time thinking about it because one of the things coach said to me is you're capable of this and he's probably right. So I need to let that resonate for a little bit before I go. Let's just do two more cycles of four weeks or three more cycles. Don't know, but there's week 24 update. Yeah
nah.
