Project 20 - Week 25 Update | Mixed Results but Staying Determined
Welcome back to Project 20! Week 25 is done, and it feels a bit like Groundhog Day—another week of ups and downs in training. Tuesday’s speed session went okay with 1km repeats for a total of 20:25 for 5k, but Friday’s track session didn’t go well due to leg soreness and struggles with speed.
Despite the challenges, I’m staying determined and optimistic. Next week is going to be great, and I’m still focused on becoming a sub-20 runner. Let’s do this!

Groundhog Day, Groundhog Week, Groundhog Update. You know when you just, like, I could probably go back in somewhere in the last, what are we up to? Week 25? Somewhere in the last, you know, 25 weeks and I could probably pull one of them and do a copy and paste and here we are. Except I've talked about it like this now, so it's not a copy and paste. Just another week of after time trial not going well. Turned up to Tuesday speed session. So most of my day, well not most, the, the, Sunday is just a basic eight, as I call it Monday's basic eight, Tuesday's speed session, and, and coach has got it all designed around Tuesday's probably the most important thing for me to turn up to fresh for, so Tuesday's speed session, that went fairly well, we did one kilometre repeats, I, I wasn't, I wasn't fresh, I wasn't on, but I still ended up You know, okay, I think for the 5k with rests in between each one of them, but for the 5k I ran 20 minutes, 25. So it should have been better than that, but it wasn't. Basic aid on Wednesday with strength long run 14 kilometers on Thursday. Track Friday didn't go well. But I've had those weeks. I, I've had more weeks where tracks gone really well and this was not one of them. My leg, I, I don't know if it was from the strength session or what, but it just, it didn't go well. And not only was my leg sore, I couldn't get up to speed, you double press the go button when you get to halfway through the workout, and you're gum, and you're just like, ah, this is all, ah. Anyhow, so Friday track didn't go well. Saturday. Is now. Basic 8 this morning, strength session went well. So, you know, Sunday you know, we'll be basic 8, Monday basic 8. So hopefully by Tuesday I'll just be, It'll be one of those weeks. I would like to, I am going to have an awesome training week next week. There we go. I am and I get to. Two things that I am going to be a sub 20 runner and I get to chase this project. Something I keep saying over and over in my head sometimes when I'm at the track and it's not going well. Anyhow, that's week 25 update. Just a bit of a, you know, that's what's going on. And hopefully, no, not hopefully, next week it's going to be great.
