Project 20 - Week 27 Update | Doubts, Determination, and the Final Push

Welcome back to Project 20!  Week 27 of what started as a 20-week journey is done, and I’m less than a week away from my next sub-20 time trial. Honestly, I don’t feel ready—mentally or physically. After three weeks of intense build training, I’m sore and doubting whether I can hit sub 20 this Saturday. 

But, some of my best PBs have happened when I didn’t feel ready, so who knows—maybe this is all part of the process. Whatever happens, I’m giving it everything on Saturday and looking forward to a break afterward. 

Will it be season two next year or a shift to a half marathon goal? Let’s see what happens!

I've delayed this week's update, week 27 of what was originally a 20 week program, thanks COVID and, but a week away from my, you know, next final time trial, and you can already tell in my language, like, I'm not mentally there, like, it's a week. In a week, less than a week I'm doing sub 20 and I don't believe it. So there's that going on. I'm, but also this is the end of three weeks of build and training. So I'm sore, but I feel extra sore and just. I'm convinced I'm not capable, not convinced, I don't feel I'm capable of hitting sub 20 on Saturday. However, some of my best PBs have been when I didn't think it was gonna happen and I wasn't ready. So who knows, maybe this is all part of me getting ready to smash it. 19 bloody 45 here we come, I don't know, I don't feel it, it's tough. So I don't think the mind's ready, I don't think the body's ready. So it's going well, it's going well. Anyhow, week 27. I think if no, I think I I'm gonna, I mean, whatever happens this week and I'm going to focus on recovery. I'm turning up Saturday and I'm just going to go for it no matter what. If I get it, great, I can move on to it. You know, I'm going to have a break. If I don't get it, I'm going to have a break. So I'm looking forward to a break come Saturday. And then it'll either be. Back to this for season two next year or I'm gonna move on to half marathon time or something. Anyhow see you in a week!
