Significant Coaching with Matt Rogers
Episode #1: Mark Edwards
Mark Edwards was kind enough to be my first guest on the podcast, and he did not disappoint. After retiring from a Hall of Fame career as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Washington University of St. Louis (where he gave me nightmares having to prepare for his teams!), I could still drop him into any gym on the planet, and he could win you a game tomorrow. He's one of the brightest minds to ever coach the game of basketball, and I was thrilled to hear his stories about his time at Washington University in St. Louis and the great relationships he had coaching with and against the likes of George Raveling, John Wooden, Jud Heathcote...just to name a few.
Why is Coach Edwards in the Basketball Coaches' Hall of Fame, you ask?
- 685 Wins in 37 Years at WashU
- 3X National Coach of the Year
- 2 NCAA National Championships
- 3 NCAA Final Fours
- 21 NCAA National Tournament Appearances
- 15 Conference Championships
- 30 All-American Players
He's on my Mount Rushmore of Coaches! Enjoy!
