Ben’s unique journey through the entertainment and real estate industries brings a fresh and dynamic perspective to international real estate investment, infrastructure development, and strategic land acquisition. We can’t wait to dive into his story and insights.

Ben began his professional journey as the Head of Entertainment – Sales at The SSE Arena, Wembley, where he managed world-class events and honed his skills in negotiation and large-scale project management. In 2010, he transitioned into land development, specialising in acquiring and developing land in high-growth areas, particularly those positioned for future government infrastructure projects.

As the founder of Monopoly Property Group, Ben has spent the past twenty years building one of Australia’s leading property investment firms. He is currently exploring fragmented real estate investment through blockchain technologies. Join us as Ben shares his insights on strategic land development, the evolving property market, and the opportunities shaping Australia’s real estate future.

Ben’s passion for property and strategic development was shaped by his early career experiences in high-profile event management, where he mastered the art of sales, negotiation, large-scale project coordination, and market analysis. His transition into land development was driven by a keen interest in identifying untapped opportunities in emerging growth corridors.

With a sharp eye for market trends, Ben has built a deep understanding of Victoria and South Australia’s evolving property landscapes. He has navigated the shifting regulatory environment, leveraging changes like urban growth boundary adjustments to unlock prime development opportunities. His expertise extends beyond traditional real estate—he specialises in positioning land investments to align with future infrastructure projects, ensuring long-term value for investors.

Key Insights from the Podcast

In this episode, Ben Howard shares his journey from fronting a band to becoming a prominent figure in South Australia’s land development sector. Ben’s path wasn’t traditional—leaving school in Year 10 after a personal tragedy, he found himself homeless for five years. Yet, his entrepreneurial spirit thrived through organising music events and promoting bands, laying the groundwork for his future in property development.

A significant theme in Ben’s story is resilience. His early experience with cold-calling for Wheelchair Sports honed his sales skills and introduced him to financially successful individuals, many of whom had vested interests in property. This exposure sparked Ben’s interest in real estate, leading him to purchase his first property in Taperoo at just 19, leveraging a first home buyer’s grant and private funding.

Ben highlights how mentorship played a pivotal role in his development journey. A seasoned developer introduced him to the land subdivision process, inspiring Ben to pursue larger projects. Working with Wembley’s entertainment venues in London exposed him to international property shows, where he recognised opportunities to market Australian real estate to overseas investors.
