The One Who Came on a Donkey in Humility Will Come Again on a Horse in Power! - Morning by Morning, April 9, 2025
“The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:
‘Hosanna!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
The King of Israel!”
“Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:
“‘Fear not, daughter of Zion;
Behold, your King is coming,
Sitting on a donkey’s colt.’”
“His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him” (John 12:12-16).
Written and sent out from the morning prayer time of Tommy Hays each day.
God bless you and may you have a great day!

Morning by Morning, April 9, 2025 - The One Who Came on a Donkey in Humility Will Come Again on a Horse in Power!
Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name and listen for Your voice to follow the leading of Your Spirit to start my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. ...
“‘Fear not, daughter of Zion;
Behold, your King is coming,
Sitting on a donkey’s colt.’”
“His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him” (John 12:12-16).
The One who came first on a donkey will come again on a horse. You came first in humility; You’ll come again in power. You came first as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, but You’ll come again as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah! (Revelation 5:5 and 19:11)
You are multi-faceted, wonderful and awesome beyond our comprehension in every facet and dimension of Your character and glory, yet You are “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). And through it all, in every dimension of it all—whether in humility or power, whether in sacrifice or sovereignty, whether You are coming into our world or into our hearts—You are “King of Kings and Lord of Lords!” (Revelation 19:16)
Just as Your first disciples “did not understand these things at first” but grew in their remembrance and understanding, may Your Spirit remind us of all You are and all You’ve done, of all You’re doing and all You’re coming again to do as “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.”
May we fear not, but live every day in expectant faith, for “Behold, (our) King is coming!” As King David declared of You and Your Kingship and Lordship in our world and in our hearts in Psalm 24:
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein. ...
“Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah” (Psalm 24:1, 7-10).
Come into my heart and my world today, King of glory!
“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’” (Revelation 22:17). “Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with (us) all!” (Revelation 22:20-21) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
