Morning by Morning Daily Prayer Journey with Tommy Hays of Messiah Ministries
“The Spirit of Family” - Morning by Morning, July 14, 2025
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that, according to the riches of His glory, He may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through His Spirit and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
“Now to Him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:14-21).
Written and sent out from the morning prayer time of Tommy Hays each day.
God bless you and may you have a great day!

Morning by Morning, July 14, 2025 - “The Spirit of Family”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, come rule and reign in my heart today (Revelation 19:16). ...
As I wait and listen for Your leading this morning, these words come to my heart: “Spirit of Family.” ...
I know it’s not a phrase from the Bible, like “Spirit of Truth” or “Spirit of Life” or “Spirit of Christ.” But it is a phrase that speaks of one of the ministries and movements of the Holy Spirit, I believe. Your Spirit unites us together in the family of the body of Christ, brothers and sisters in the family of our Father. And this Word from Your Scripture comes to mind to confirm with Your written Word what I believe I’m hearing in my heart by Your spoken words right now:
“For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn within a large family” (Romans 8:29).
“So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19).
Yes, Lord. I’m pleased by Your grace to be part of Your family, a member of the household of God, a child of God through the sacrifice of my Savior and the abiding Presence of Your Holy Spirit living in me, affirming to me my identity in You.
And I thank You for the place and the people You’ve placed in my life who are family to me—my earthly family and also my heavenly family. Thank You for the bonds of love You’ve established and strengthen among all who love You. “Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11).
As I taught and ministered the Word of God in the Love of God this past weekend at the Aldersgate Renewal Ministries regional gathering at Grafton Church in central Ohio, I kept sensing “the Spirit of Family.” I always do among these loving people of God, passionately pursuing You. It was so easy to love and be loved.
What a blessing of God that we can “know the Love of Christ” and “be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19), “rooted and grounded in Love” (Ephesians 3:17), abiding in deep communion with the One who is very Essence of Love (1 John 4:8). Wherever we go, wherever we are, You give us the grace to experience and embrace “the Spirit of Family” we have in You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
