Morning by Morning, December 5, 2025 – May We See a Great Light
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Open my eyes to see. Open my ears to hear. ...
“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned” (Matthew 4:16).
As we enter into the Christmas season, we enter into the season of Light. And You are that Light. Just as You said “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the Light of Life” (John 8:12).
Shine into my world, Lord Jesus. Shine into my heart. Bring me and my world out of the darkness and into Your Light.
“(We) are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, (Your) own special people, that (we) may proclaim the praises of Him who called (us) out of darkness into (Your) marvelous Light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Let every light we see in this season lead us to You. Every Christmas tree light, every house-trimming light, every light in the night sky. Let every light point every heart to the One who is the Light. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
