Morning by Morning, February 12, 2026 — A Thousand Generations
Good morning, Lord Jesus. You’re always with me (Matthew 28:20). And I especially welcome You here in my heart, here at the beginning of my day. ...
As wait for Your leading this morning, what comes to my heart is “A thousand generations.” And this Scripture:
“He is the Lord our God;
His judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations”
(Psalm 105:7-8).
Your word never ends and Your covenant is forever.
Your favor and blessings extend for a thousand generations. To our children and their children and their children and their children....
And no matter our struggles and battles as we journey through this broken and fallen world in desperate need of our Savior and Your redemption, You bring out Your people with joy and Your chosen ones with gladness (v. 43). All in Your time. All in Your way. Even causing all we go through to work together for our good and to establish Your character in us (Romans 8:28-29).
Thank You for Your blessings that extend through the generations. Today I remember and embrace what You declared many generations ago through the words of this blessing for the children of God, who are called by Your name:
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
