Morning by Morning, April 7, 2026 — “The Stone is Rolled Away!”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Let the life of Your resurrection live in me today. ...
As I wait for the leading of Your Spirit this morning, I’m still reflecting on Your resurrection glory. And what comes to my heart are these words: “The stone is rolled away!”
And this part of the Resurrection Story from the perspective of the Gospel of Matthew:
“And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men” (Matthew 28:2-4).
I’m remembering the words of the women on their way to Your tomb early that morning of Your resurrection. “They said among themselves, ‘Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” (Mark 16:3)
They spoke of an earthly stone. But the power of Your resurrection also speaks of a spiritual stone.
Praise You, Lord Jesus. The stone is rolled away! Through all You’ve done for us—when You were crucified, dead, buried, and raised from the dead for us—You have rolled away the stone for us!
The stone of my sin. The stone of my regrets. The stone of all that needed to die in me so that I could live in You.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death!” (Roman 8:1-2)
In Your resurrection power, full of Your resurrection life, may I live my life in the fullness of Your grace and all You’ve done for me. That tomb was sealed shut (Matthew 27:66). But shattered by the glory of Your resurrection when that stone was rolled away. Thank You that now I’m “sealed with the Holy Spirit!” (Ephesians 1:13) Thank You that now I’m filled with Your resurrection power! (Roman 8:11) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
