The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.
Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
The glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken’” (Isaiah 40:3-5).

God bless you and you have a great day!

Morning by Morning, July 21, 2026 — “Make Way for the King!”

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I lift up my heart to You Lord and welcome You into my day. …

As I wait for Your leading, what I hear in my heart is this:

“Make way for the King!” …

And this word from the Prophet Isaiah speaking of the coming of the King of kings and Lord of lords:

The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.
Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
The glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken’” (Isaiah 40:3-5).

Come, Holy Spirit. Prepare the way of the Lord in me. Stir in my heart to make way for the King to come rule and reign in me.

Make my paths straight. Align my heart with Your heart, my thoughts with Your thoughts, my ways with Your ways.

Let every valley be exalted. Reach down into the low places of my soul wherever I’m tempted to be discouraged or weighed down under the burdens and pressures of my world.

Let every mountain and hill be brought low. Show me where my pride of dependence on my own strength or wisdom is exalting myself instead of humbly depending on You and Your strength and Your wisdom. Reveal where I’ve become self-righteous or self-exalting, building my own kingdom for my own glory, instead of exalting You and Your kingdom for Your glory.

Let every crooked place be made straight. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear Your conviction and correction of where my steps are out of order and my ways are not lining up with the highway of Your holiness and truth.

Make the rough places smooth. Help me embrace Your refining and finishing of my attitudes and perspectives that resist Your molding and making of my heart, like clay in the master potter’s hands.

I hear the call of Your Spirit to make way for the King. So I open up my heart and set aside my pride to welcome You and exalt You as King of my heart and Lord of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
