Season 2 - Episode 26 - All-Star Game/ Old Timers' Day
We love to hear your thoughts. Tell us how you enjoyed the Podcast.
In our 26th Episode of Season 2, we are going to talk just a little about the All-Star Game and the concept of an Old Timers Day.
So… what did you think of the AllStar game? I still think if you are voted in you should stay in the game at least 3 innings, especially if you are playing in your home teams park. Acuna seemed to be just disappear this game? Did you like the new HR SwingOff format? Game was boring for the first 5 innings, it looked like a typical Yankee game! Then I realized that made sense since Aaron Boone was managing. lol
Hey, you gotta admit, the new HR SwingOff is hell of a lot better then a TIE…The 2002 MLB All-Star Game ended in a tie due to a lack of available players. The game, held at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, went into extra innings after a 7-7 tie at the end of nine innings. However, after 11 innings, both teams had exhausted their available pitchers, and the managers decided to end the game rather than risk injury to players or further complications.
This wacky outcome led to many discussions about the format of the All-Star Game and its implications, changes in how the game was approached was a BIG topic. The tie was really notable because it was the first time an All-Star Game had ended without a winner since the game's inception in 1933.
Extra inning games in an all Star game is stupid in my opinion anyway, this is a GREAT idea. But a few changes are needed.... Join us for more
