Today is Season 3 - Episode 10 - Who’s in First? But, we have a lot more to talk about FIRST. All right, we talked about steals and we talked about the increase in steals, but there's one thing that has been bothering me with the rule changes on pick ups and disengagement. It's why no pictures are taking. I think advantage of the situation and throwing over to first after two attempts, the third attempt is never made by pitching so even in the last decade, major league baseball has experienced notable changes and pickoff attempts and yes, they are changes due to the new rules and pitches evolving but I think pictures are missing out on opportunities to get bases runners out. pickoff/caught stealing plays have made up nearly half the pickoffs we’ve seen, which is the highest rate in 11 years. This shouldn’t be too surprising, since caught stealing numbers are up across the board.
