That They May Be One
Episode 7: When God Calls Us to Unity
In this episode of That They May Be One, we’re continuing our conversation with Dr. Mel Robeck, an ordained minister and professor of church history and ecumenics at Fuller Theological Seminary. Dr. Robeck shares how his journey into ecumenism began with a vision from Jesus — a call he never expected and initially resisted.
He opens up about the fears and misunderstandings that can get in the way of Christian unity, especially between Pentecostals and Catholics, and how God transformed his heart to build bridges among different traditions. We talk about his experiences with both global dialogues and local ecumenical efforts, the personal challenges he’s faced along the way, and why working toward unity is always worth the cost.
Listen in to learn how to move past fear, seek understanding, and trust where God is leading — even when it feels uncomfortable.
