It ain't about me. It's about you guys. If you'd like your com if you'd like your confession featured on a future episode, send it in. You never know who else might need your you never know who might who else might need your need to hear your story. God damn, what the heck is going on with me today, man? Anyways, so today's car today's confession comes from a guy named Carson. And I have a feeling this one is gonna hit home for a lot of people listening today. Right? How many of you how many of you guys had that best friend that you had forever, man? Yep, yep, yep, yep. It happens. But with this, Carson writes in and he says, Hey Ben, he says, I have a friend that I have known since elementary school. She is 24 now, and I'm 25, and I've been getting these feelings like I am attracted to her and possibly want more than friends. What? Yep. He says, I'm scared to shoot my shot and her either reject me, or if we end up taking it to that next level, and if things don't work out, that would ruin the relationship. Says I start to I start getting jealous, man, when I see her dating these guys, and I feel like they are not good enough for her. What should I do? Man, should I risk it all or just keep it as friends? Man, Carson, this is crazy, bro. First of all, thank you, bro, for writing in and trusting Mike Manifestations podcast with this situation here. Because I think a lot of people have found themselves exactly where you are now. You know? So let's talk about it. Let's be honest. Um, you know, the friend to relationship situation is one of the most difficult decisions someone can ever make, man. You know, you're not just talking about a girl you met three months ago, you're talking about someone who has been part of your life since elementary school. You know, think about that for a second. You know, you've watched you've watched each other grow up. You've probably celebrated birthdays, graduations, breakups, family events, and countless memories. You know, she's seen you go through the good and through the bad. This isn't just a crush, you know, uh, this is history, and that's why you're terrified. Because if she says no, you're afraid things are gonna things are gonna change forever. But if you never say anything, you may spend years wondering what could have been, right? Man, that's crazy. One thing stood out immediately in Carson's confession today. He said he gets jealous when she dates other guys. Excuse me, that's important right there, you know, because jealousy usually tells us something, right? What is it telling us? You know, it reveals emotions we've been trying to ignore. You know, friends don't typically typically sit around analyzing whether someone's boyfriend is worthy of them. Friends don't usually feel a punch, you know, in the gut when they hear someone is dating or going on a date. Um, what Carson is experiencing isn't friendship confusion, it's unspoken feelings, and those feelings are becoming harder to hide nowadays, you know. That's crazy, bro. Why is this happening though? You know, sometimes we meet someone and instantly know we're attracted to them, other times it's different. You know, sometimes attraction grows from trust, from history, from comfort, from years of knowing someone's heart, you know, and the corazon. A lot of the strongest relationships begin as friendships, you know, because the foundation already exists, it's already there. You know, the communication exists, the respect exists, the friendship becomes the root from which something deeper can grow. You know, the challenge is figuring out whether both people feel that way. You know, that's the real that's the real check right there, bro. The reality check. Now, Carson, I want to challenge you on something, bro. You said you feel these other guys aren't good enough for her. You know? Be careful, bro. Sometimes when we love someone, we automatically assume we'd be the better choice. And who knows, maybe you would be, but maybe you wouldn't be. Right? The truth is she gets to decide that, not you. Damn, that's crazy, bro. Not you, not me, not anyone else, you know. Love isn't about convincing someone you're the best option or you're the best fit. It's about honesty, it's about honestly sharing how you feel and allowing them the freedom to choose whether you're that option or not. But you're like probably saying, what if she says no, bro? You know, well, let's talk about the worst case scenario, right? You know, she says, Carson, I care about you deeply, but only as friends. Boom! Right? That would hurt. No question, bro. But here's something important. At least you would know, right? The wondering would stop, the daydreaming would stop. Oh, here in La La La. Thinking about it. The constant comparison to every guy she dates would stop, and eventually, you could move forward, you know, yeah, bro. Rejection hurts, you know, but uncertainly can hurt for years as well, but then again, what if she says yes? Now let's talk about the possibility that keeps you awake at night. What if she feels the same way? What if she's been waiting for you to say something? Shoot that shot, bro. What if every relationship she's had never quite worked out because she's kept comparing those guys to you? You don't know, bro. And that's the point. You can't know unless someone takes that first step. You know, unless someone takes that first shot. The big question is now here's the question I would ask Carson Five years from now, if she gets married to someone else, you're like, no, bro, would you be okay knowing you never told her, or you never shot your shot? Or would you spend the rest of your life wondering? Because sometimes the biggest regrets aren't the chances we took, they're the chances we never took, right? If you never shot your shot, bro, you're never gonna know. And then if you know, like you said, what if she said yes? Your o your um your opportunity slipped away, and that brings us to today's mic drop moment, guys. Carson, you're worried about risking the friendship, but every day you stay silent, you're risking something too, right? You're risking a future where someone else gets the life you secretly wanted with her. That doesn't mean you're entitled to her feelings, that doesn't mean she owes you a chance, you know, but it does mean you owe yourself honestly, honesty, because sometimes courage isn't knowing things will work out, sometimes courage is accepting they may not, and speaking and speaking your truth about anything, bro. You know, with that guys, we bring you in today's the episode is brought to you today by Kane3D Studio, guys.
