In this episode of Mic Manifestation Podcast – Mic Drop Confessions, Ben dives into a listener’s relationship dilemma after discovering something unexpected about the woman he’s been dating.
After three months together, everything seemed to be going great—until one of his friends showed him an online account that appeared to belong to his girlfriend. She never mentioned it, and now he’s left wondering what to do.
Is this a relationship-ending secret? Should he bring it up? Is there an expectation to disclose something like this while dating, or is it a private part of someone’s life?
This episode explores trust, communication, honesty, boundaries, and relationship compatibility. Rather than jumping to conclusions, we discuss how difficult conversations can reveal far more about a relationship than the discovery itself.
What would you do in this situation?

write in and be anonymous you know whatever you like if you want if not we can use a different name he says hey Ben I've been dating this girl for about three months everything has honestly been great she's funny she's smart we get along really well and I could actually see this turning into something serious right the problem is one of my friends texted me the other day and asked if I knew my girlfriend had an adult content page online oh if I laughed and told him he had the wrong person right then he sent me the link what yep I looked at it and it was definitely her god dang she never told me you know she told me she works from home for a medical insurance company but she never mentioned this damn that's some fancy medical insurance company bro but then again I never asked I honestly don't know what to think right do I break up with her do I ask her if it's really her which I know it is am I overreacting I really like this girl but now I feel like I don't know who she really is you haven't seen the back parts then bro nah but serious guys man this is crazy bro right this is one of those letters that people are going to have very strong opinions about right some of you are listening already know exactly what you would do some of you are saying I'm done relationship over baby and others are thinking you know what's the big deal it's her life right and that's okay the goal of this podcast has never been to tell you what you have to believe the goal is to help us think through these situations with honesty and respect because if we're being honest this story isn't really about an online account it's about something much bigger right it's about trust it's about expectations it's about communication right you know but the moment and this is the moment that everything changed think about what happened for three months life is good baby you're laughing together you're going on dates you know learning each other's favorite foods you know talking about your families you know making plans for next weekend you know you're slowly building trust then right one text message is one text message changes everything not because someone accused her of cheating right not because she did something illegal but because you found out something significant about someone you're dating you know from someone else that feeling is hard to explain you know it's almost like your brain starts replaying every conversation you've ever had you start wondering you know what else don't I know about this person that's what secrets can do whether the secret is big or small your mind fills in the blanks automatically right up you know and here's the question should she have told him you know now here's where the conversation gets interesting should she have told him you know some people immediately say absolutely bro you know others will say no you know it's her private business private business I think the answer depends on one question could this information reasonably affect whether someone chooses to continue the relationship if the answer is yes then eventually it deserves a conversation right not because someone owes you every detail of their life on the first date the first week you know they don't they don't know if it's gonna you know continue into something you know the first few dates are about getting to know each other you know right you know nobody walks into dinner with the list of every mistake error you know they're ever gonna they've ever made or every difficult part of their lives and say hey let's let's put it on the table right now bro you know that's not that's not realistic but three months right that's different bro you know by three months many couples have started talking about exclusivity future plans meeting family and building something more serious right or at least they should be anyways you know that's when conversations about the important parts of your life usually begin you know that's when the the whole digging into history and everything else comes out you know but then he never asked right now let's talk about something the listeners said I never asked that's true he didn't right but but here's a question bro is like should someone have to ask that right imagine you adopted children should your partner have to specifically ask whenever hey by the way do you have kids imagine you were planning to move across the country next month should they have to ask hey are you planning on leaving the state right some some things naturally come up because they can affect the relationship the point isn't that someone has to reveal every private detail immediately you know the point is recognizing when something becomes important enough that your partner should hear it from you not discover it by accident or by someone else you know why might why might she not have said anything you know why wouldn't she say anything now let's be fair right because we only have one side of his one side of the story and that's his side we don't know her side of the story you know maybe she was scared right maybe she's been judged before maybe someone treated her terribly after finding out maybe she thought I want someone to get to know me first before they make assumptions right to tell him once she knew the relationship was serious or maybe she genuinely didn't think it mattered because she separates that part of her life from everything else you know those are all possibilities you know you don't want to hey you know by the way I'm an OnlyFans model you know I make content you know but like I said those are all possibilities we simply don't know that's exactly why it's important not to jump straight to conclusions right you know there's a there's a reason there's a purpose who knows you know but there's a difference between privacy and secrecy right you know privacy says there are parts of my life I don't want to share with everyone that's healthy right everyone deserves privacy secrecy secrecy says I'm intentionally withholding something because I'm afraid you'll make a different decision if you know you know those aren't always the same thing and figuring out which one this is you know requires a conversation not assumptions right you know because sometimes we all tend to assume stuff you know and the friend you know can we also talk about the friend for a second right imagine how awkward that conversation must have been dude right take my I think I found your girlfriend online nobody wants to hear that right but here's something important man don't let your friends make your decisions for you know they can give you advice you know they can tell you how they'd feel or what they would do but they're not the ones building this relationship they're like hey you know they're they're not the ones building the relationship you are you know online is online it's all you know it's online you know you can see all kinds of different stuff online but in you one-on-one with that person is a lot different you know but one word in the letter stood out to me he asked a word should I confront her personally I would say no you know I'd have a conversation you know those are two different very different things confrontation usually starts with accusations right conversation starts with curiosity instead of you know instead of why did you lie to me you know try you know something something happened that caught me completely off guard I'd like to understand it you know that's one sentence that one sentence right there changes everything right instead of like rushing it hey why'd you lie bro you know yeah with that you know if she says yes that's my account don't interrupt her right don't argue you know ask questions you know how long has it been there how long have you been doing it is it still active were you planning to tell me what does this mean to you know listen listen to her right really listen because her answers will tell you far more than the discovery itself you know she's gonna tell you straight up how it is bro you know you know uh but here's something I think gets lost in conversations like this her choices deserve respect his boundaries deserve respect too whatever if he decides he isn't comfortable with continuing the relationship that doesn't automatically make him controlling right and if she chooses to continue creating content that doesn't automatically make her a bad person you know sometimes two good people simply have different expectations for what a relationship looks like you know not every breakup needs a villain right sometimes it's just incompatibility you know which at one point seemed that you guys meshed and everything else doesn't mean that everything else down the line is gonna mesh you know but ask yourself this hard question though if you stay together can you genuinely move forward or will this become an argument every few weeks you know will you cons will you uh constantly wonder who's viewing her page you know will resentment slowly build those aren't easy questions but they're honest questions right and honesty is better than pretending you're okay when you're not okay with it right comes over with that money hey I'm good with it but when other when you're thinking about other guys you know subscribing to that page viewing that page and everything else it's gonna be a different story it's all gonna be in your head bro you know so those are questions you gotta ask yourself if this lender if this listener was were sitting across from me I'd tell him this bro you know don't make your decision today or tonight you know don't let embarrassment make the decision right don't let your anger make the decision and definitely don't let the internet make your decision for you either like I said sit down with her have one honest conversation ask the difficult questions you know tell her how finding out from someone else made you feel Then listen. Right? Really listen though, bro. You know, after that conversation, you'll probably know exactly what you need to do. You know, because people are gonna steer you either way, one way or the other, what they would do, but like I said, they're not in this relationship. You are so here's today's mic drop moment. Trust isn't just about telling the truth when someone asks. Sometimes truth is choosing to share the things that matter before someone has to discover them on their own. Right? Healthy relationships aren't built because two people never disagree, they're built because two people are willing to have uncomfortable conversations with honesty and with respect. And if after that conversation you realize your values don't line up, hey, that's okay, bro. You know, walking away doesn't always mean someone was wrong. Sometimes it simply means the relationship wasn't the right fit, right? People go through years and and their whole life without finding the right one or the right fit. Right now, I want to hear from all of you. Imagine you've been dating someone for three months, you discover something significant about their life, not from them, but from someone else, those chismosas or those chismosals, right? Would you discover it? Would the discovery itself bother you more? Or would the fact that you found out from someone else be the real issue? You know, where do you draw the line between privacy and something that should be shared in a growing relationship? Dang, that's crazy. Anyways, leave your thoughts in the comments, guys. But remember what this community is about, you know, respect each other. People are going to have different opinions, and that's okay. Right? Listen to understand, not just to respond. Damn, that's crazy. Listen to understand, not just respond. Dang, man, sometimes I can I don't know.
