Rise in Mourning
Rise in Mourning: Finding Jesus at the Threshing Floor welcomes you into weekly conversations about grief & providing support, advice, coping skills, parenting after loss, hope & healing.
After losing our youngest son, I found myself at my own “threshing floor” — a place of heartbreak and surrender where God began to rebuild me piece by piece. In the depths of grief, I realized how few spaces existed that truly held the complexities of loss through a lens of faith. That’s why I created Rise in Mourning — a podcast born from both pain and purpose...for God's purpose.
Here, we talk about grief and healing in all their real, unfiltered layers. We’ll walk through the wrestle of faith, the beauty of surrender, and the slow, sacred rise that only Jesus can bring. If you’ve ever wondered how to keep walking when the world falls apart…
you’re not alone.
There’s hope here.
There’s healing here.
And there’s Jesus — right here, at the threshing floor.
My hope is that every episode reminds you that even in sorrow, there is purpose… and through Him, beauty can rise from the ashes.
"Because even in mourning...we rise."

Hi guys, welcome back to Rise in Morning Finding Jesus at the Threshing Floor. Today we're gonna talk about all things Bible study supplies and journaling. I'm gonna go through my favorite items that I use for Bible study, and um hopefully this helps you guys. If you're a beginner to Bible study, um if you don't know where to start, I have tried and true supplies that will help you make your Bible study enjoyable and easy. So stay tuned and I will show you all the supplies that I use. Before I continue, I would like to please remind you if you can leave this podcast a five-star review, subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow on Spotify or anywhere you listen to podcasts. This really helps the show out. And if you leave a positive review, it helps get the show out to other people as well. So I would really appreciate it. And you can find me at my socials anywhere at Rise in Morning for extra tips, community, and encouragement. Thanks. Okay, so first up, I want to talk about my Bible cover. Everything that I talk about today will be in the description box down below, and you'll see everything listed there. So this is my Bible cover, which I love because it holds all my highlighters and pens and extra papers and notes back here, which is great. If I want to obviously take this big Bible, um, it has a handle, it has a zipper in the back that I can store other notes if I need to. I love that it's transparent in the front and it has rainbows uh in the front, which are very meaningful to me since I lost my son. Okay, so that's the Bible cover. The actual Bible, I'm gonna take it out of its uh sleeve back here so you can see. You can slip it into the Bible case. So this is my Bible. It's a gray linen covered Bible. It's by She Reads Truth and it is the Christian standard Bible. I you can see here it's uh tabbed, annotated. It's it's very much a loved Bible of mine. Really, really recommend this Bible. So that's my primary Bible. This is my Bible study Bible. This is a gorgeous, like soft touch velvet finish Bible. It has a beautiful butterfly in the front, and in the back, it says he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more. These are so beautiful. I love it. Again, this is my Bible study Bible that goes in further into detail of what I'm reading and learning. And to go with the Bible study, I got the journal. So I use this as my Bible journal. I take any notes, any verses that I want to remember or memorize. I write them in here. And this also says on the back, it says, I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me. So it's just so beautiful. I love these two. Look at that. So that's my Bible, my Bible journal, and my study Bible. And uh this Bible back here, I use when I am filming, and it has a beautiful flower in the front, and in the back it says, He has planted eternity in the human heart. Ecclesiastes 3, 11. So great Bible. Hopefully it stays. Okay. All right, so let's get into the supplies, the stationery, the pens, the highlighters. And I found some really great ones that I love to use, and I continue to buy over and over again. Okay, so these highlighters are amazing. They come in so many colors. I prefer like the pastel colors. I have so many more than just this, but right now I kind of just am rotating with these colors. And then I have these as well, same brand. They work equally as good. They don't bleed, uh, they don't transfer through the Bible pages, so that's great. So I love these. I have these transparent post-its, so I get like a kit of them. So it came with the the larger post-it and the smaller ones as well, which I love to use these. Here I'll show you in the Bible. You can write on them. I don't know if you can see that. And you can also use like the bigger ones that if you wanted to, you can write on top of scripture that maybe you wanted to add some more notes on top of it. And that's a great way, or you can use it to underline something if you didn't want to do it directly on your Bible, but you can just add all the transparent post-its to remind you of things or add extra notes. You do have to have a special marker, so this is the the marker it comes with so that it will write on these transparent ones because it's not paper. Okay, next up are pens, and these pens are my favorite. I've used them for years. Again, they don't bleed through your Bible, as you can see here as well, like like my highlighters. Um, there's no bleeding through the pages. So obviously, these are very important to have. And also, what I love is they're fine, fine tip. So you can really write on the edges of your Bible. It just is just so easy. They're marker-like pens, they're felt tip pens, so everything just really glides and looks really nice when you're writing in your Bible, and they come in so many different colors as well. They're my favorite pens. Okay, another thing that I love and I found are these stickers. These are the the two sheets. Lots of beautiful scripture in these stickers, and I use these for my journal. So let's say, you know, whatever I read that day, I'll write something in it: a reflection, a note, questions, whatever I have in my Bible journal. And then I'll try to find a sticker that goes along with my Bible scripture that I read. So I kind of stick it on there, and then I'll um I'll write my notes. I just started doing this with the stickers. These are new to me, but I really enjoy it in my journal. So it's just an extra added touch to my journaling that I love. I forgot to mention the tabs. It is really important, I think, and makes your Bible reading and studying so much easier if you tab your Bibles. It does take some time, but it's definitely worth it. You can find these anywhere. I'll link the ones that I purchased for my Bible down below. They're really pretty colors and they have like flower motifs all over. So I highly recommend to tab your Bible so that you can access what you want to read a lot quicker. And that's it, guys. This is all my Bible study and journaling supplies that I love and used for years now. They're tried and true. If you're looking to upgrade your Bible study experience and need some uh supplies, definitely check out the description box down below where I have linked everything and happy journaling, happy Bible studying. It is truly a joy once you get into it, and all of these things just make the experience that much more enjoyable. Thank you for watching or listening today. Because even in morning, we rise. I'll see you next week.
