Welcome And Why Reiki Matters

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Om Shanti Healing's podcast, The Spiritual Connection. This is episode 49. Hello, Kim. Hi there. How are you today? Good. Kim Lighty's my buddy in town. She's a Reiki master and access bars practitioner. And I wanted to have her on today just to talk about the process by which Reiki goes. It seems to be a Kleenex term for energy work. Every time I'm asked, Do you know Reiki? I'm certified in Healing Touch. So it's different techniques, different philosophies, same intention. So Kim is an amazing healer. I've been on her table multiple times, and she has blown my mind each time and uh helped me to release a lot and move things out of the way. Everyone's in their own way somehow, right, Kim? That's right. Yes. So I'm grateful to know you and thank you so much for being with me today and talking on this podcast. Absolutely. I'd love to start each podcast with just some backstory of who you are. You know, how did you get into becoming an energy worker? And uh the and then walk us through kind of the process of how Reiki goes as far as your education and expertise.

Sure. So for me, growing up in a toxic environment of being seen and not heard, not feeling heard, not feeling seen, um we tend as children to stuff and be quiet, get recluse, don't feel safe. And with that, repercussions happen. And those repercussions are health issues because we're not feeling safe in our own environment or where we're at and what we're doing. So then they produce later in life and sometimes earlier in different manners. So one way is breaking bones. So if you're a child and I have broken six, and so it's one of those things where you're trying to break a cycle. So I've had to think back, I know this now, but at the time I didn't know that I had to think back of what I was going through at that time, what was happening at that time, and what was I trying to break, if you will. And another form of it is health issues. And I developed a lot of health issues in my late teens, 20s, and 30s. And eight surgeries later, also my body was screaming at me again because the broken bones, I didn't relate to what my body was telling me. So now we're coming into surgeries of things that were stuck, stagnant, and not working in the proper manner. And so it was telling me you need to pay attention, there's something else going on. And after seeing traditional doctors for many years, I made an appointment and finally found someone on the holistic part of it. And within one session, I felt different and I knew there was something to this. Didn't understand it fully, but I felt a shift within my body and I knew something was happening. Finally, some truth for myself was happening. And by seeing this person and revealing things that my body was speaking and saying out loud, um, as far as the surgeries or breaking bones or cycles, I was able to become my true and congruent self. So Reiki is kind of like an onion. It peels layers at a time. It gets to the core of your being because I was a yes girl. Remember, growing up, I was told you can be seen, you don't be heard, right? So I didn't know who I was, didn't know what I was doing. I was a yes girl. Do you want to go out for dinner? Okay. What are you hungry for? Whatever. So I liked whatever the crowd was that was going on at the time. I didn't know that I didn't like certain foods or be in certain areas, and I didn't know what a trigger was because I just went with it because that's what people did, and that's what I did. That's what I was taught. But as I peeled those layers, I became independent and I realized, yeah, I do like certain things and some things I don't. And I'm learning and still learning, setting those boundaries and getting out of that trauma that I was conditioned into thinking. So in 2016, I was asked to go to a Reiki class. And to be honest with you, had no idea at the time what it was. It just felt right. It's like, okay. So I went with my friend and another um, a friend of hers. So there were the three of us in this class. And again, first time, oh, there's something to this. I felt something. I felt alive. I was feeling things I didn't know that I felt because you know, my nervous system was so blocked and fight or flight or heightened. I didn't know what it was like to be calm and to be centered and to be in a safe space. And this was shifting me into the point where, oh, this is where I can go. This is what it's supposed to be like, this is where I'm I'm headed. So for me at the time in 2016, the class it was a year long. It was every um four months, and it was several days in a row. And we had homework, if you will. We had to um work on so many people, we had practice that we needed to do and things to take notes on and to be aware of. So it wasn't just like a weekend thing. Um and I found friends that were comfortable around me, but also was going to be with me through my journey of me also letting go and coming into my true and congruent self, right? So the more that that happened, more doors opened up because I could feel these senses on people, but I didn't know what it was. It's like I'm feeling these pulses. And for my method, I would yawn, cough, or cry. And it was just my way of purging released energy of the client or whoever was laying on the table. Now I'm finding out that as they feel safe, their nervous system is also calming down and they are also releasing that that is not theirs to carry. So we all carry in our containment a heightened um nervous system, but as we learn to find safety within that, we release that and we let that go. And so now we're finding out who we truly are. We get out of our heads, we listen to our bodies because a lot of times our heads and our bodies are not in alignment. And once they get into alignment, you can start noticing when your boundaries have been crossed or um things that you just don't like, like overhead lighting. Sometimes overhead lighting can be overstimulating for people. Sam's Club can be overstimulating for lighting. Yes, you know, or big crowds, lots of added energy, right? And so it's just one of those things that as we clear our crowns and our eyes and our throat and our heart and our solar praxis and our sacral and our root, which is the spine chakras, that things get stagnant to where we have low self-esteem, we're not using our voice, we don't have a soft heart, we're not forgiving ourselves first and foremost, and then those that are around us. Because if we can't do that, we can't move forward. The root of us of where we're growing and what's happened to us. So it's not just caused by the abuse, it's not just caused by um life-threatening events, it can be just a simple experience of an eye roll or an unkind word or not feeling supported. There's there's different methods that we can feel like we need to just shut down and not move forward. But for me, things started opening up and then I remembered, oh, where I was at nine years old when I broke that arm, what was going on in my life, and I was trying to break that cycle of something that didn't feel safe to me. But now it's one of those where things, patterns, habits aren't the same for me as they used to be. Because again, I was doing what other people were doing, being in their element and not in my own. So now it's one of those where I'm very selfish, if you will, with where I'm at, who I'm with, what I'm doing, because I'm more awakened now. I meditate more now, and I feel like it's very important that we either pray, whatever you believe in, nothing is something, so that we take that time and meditate, really get into tune of where things are going. Why does my shoulder hurt? What does that mean? It can mean so many different things, but it's one of those of just listening to our bodies and taking care of it, giving the shoulder the love and grace that it deserves and figuring out what is going on here at this time in my life that maybe I need to be taken care of. So it's nothing woo-woo, it's listening to our God-given gifts and our body of what it's speaking to us. And every little ailment doesn't mean you need to run to the doctor or take an Advil. Not that there's nothing wrong with that, and there's a time and place for it. But at the same time, you know, a lot of times the the right side of your shoulder is money. Oh, we all have issues with that, right? Isn't it something? Yes, it is the left side, you know, is is family. Well, we're not all immune to that one either, right? Right. And it's interesting because the hands will even speak to you. So fear, worry, anger, we all got that one down because I mean, we see that one day-to-day basis, right? Grief, pretend. So if things are coming up within your body, it's just listening to it and figuring it out. And the first thing that I always do is like wherever the problem is coming up, I was like, I always say, I recognize you, I feel you, I love you. Now let's figure out what this is. So, what did just happen that maybe my shoulder came up or what thought came into play? Because our thoughts are powerful. Yeah, so yeah. I mean, I remember as a kid not wanting to go to school and giving myself a tummy ache or a headache and talking myself into it because I was triggered by something that might happen that day or wouldn't happen that day. And it's the same thing as us as adults. We can talk ourselves into something and not. Our mind is a powerful thing. So if we can look at ourselves with forgiveness and with love, it seems to pass quicker and we can get out of those sicknesses, those health issues, and move forward in a more congruent self of who we really are. So when someone lays on my table, I always say a prayer over everyone because I truly believe that that's the foundation. If we can do self-care, but we also need to do soul care. And if we don't do them both, I don't believe that they can mesh and come together in the manner that needs to be. So I always say a prayer. Then I can just kind of tap in and feel where things feel uneven. I can feel pulses. It might be stronger on the right side and it might not be on the left side. And so it's one of those things I just stop and pay attention. Listen to people's bodies and see where it's coming from. And then we can find out if our throat, we're not saying what we need to say, or if there's some heavy burdens within the heart, or if it's in the hips and we're not feeling like we can move forward, or if our big toe is bothering us. There's something everywhere that tells us everything. So it's just paying attention to that and then helping the client feel safe within that manner and moving that stagnation or where it's stuck and moving it forward in the manner that it needs to go so that they can move forward. I mean, the whole point is for us just to feel better and live our lives the fullest.

Yeah. I love how you're um so deeply uh tuned into the somatic approaches of things and just really tuning into your feelings and how is that pain correlated to what's going on, the dialogue in your head? Because it is so related, it's like completely related. Yeah, that's my belief system. Like every experience that you have comes in as a vibration, and then you stuff it somewhere.

So the lower the vibration go, you know, childhood trauma is huge for people like in their 40s and 50s that are finally looking at stuff, right? You know, and hopefully they can resolve some things and create some peace with their parents if that's where it's coming from or their siblings, you know, highly encourage that to be in a considered option, right? To just keep the heal, solidify the healing and get to a better place while they're still here, right? And allow the body to forgive itself, you know, for holding on for so long and really forgiving your mind and your heart, you know, for for the burden and the heaviness that it's carried for so long. Right.

Forgiveness And Generational Patterns

And that's true, and you know, and it could be projected because I used to be upset, so I thought, with my mother's second husband, who was toxic within our home life. But then as I started peeling more of those onions, I found out I was upset with my mother because she was supposed to be my safety zone, right? And in order when I had that light bulb moment, that's when I was able to forgive her for the choices that she made. So the choices that we all make, it trickles down and fingers out to different people that affects in our lives. So our children, our grandchildren, our grandparents, our parents, our siblings. I mean, it it friendships, right? It trickles and goes everywhere. And so it's one of those until we start to learn, first of all, placing it and then forgiving ourselves for letting a boundary be crossed, or because we we allow it sometimes knowingly, sometimes not knowingly, and then forgiving that person for the choices that they made. And it can go back seven generations, if not more. So sometimes we carry things. You as a mother would carry things that your children would carry, right? And that goes deeper. And it's one of those sometimes we have to forgive our great-grandparents and break those generational cords in order for us to move forward. I don't know my dad very well. My parents parted ways when I was a young child, but when I see him now, I look at him and I watch his body mannerisms or things that he says or does. And it's like, oh, that's where I get that from, right? Or an uncle or an aunt or something. And some of those I claim, and some of them are like, mm, nope. Yeah, no, I'm gonna cut the cord on that one and I'm gonna break that cycle right here, right now, because I don't want that passed on. It's not something that's healthy, and there's just some things that we're not supposed to carry on. And you know, and it's one of those things people say all the time, well, I can't help it. It's just how I am, or that's how I was born, or that's how my grandmother was. And it's like you can if you choose to, but if you're gonna manifest and speak that you can't, then you won't. But if you're gonna manifest and speak that you can, then you will. Yeah. So it's all in our choices of how we look at it and what we want to do with it.

Absolutely, absolutely. And you know, those inherited character traits and behaviors and kind of perceptions of life in general can be very hard to cut those cords. Some people don't even identify that they have been inherited, right? They were in the womb space while you were growing inside of your mother. That's where her head was, that's the environment she was in. Therefore, you are born into this cert vibration that is on a cellular level part of who you are.

Right. You know, if they tell you to um sing to your baby and read lullabies and talk sweetness or whatever to it, that child can hear discourse. Yes, it also can hear fighting, it can hear lack of money of arguments, so it can come out already heightened in the nervous system and not even re, you know, not know it, but they just know that something's not right. Right. So it's again, they're coming out not feeling safe, and that gets carried forward. So then I, on a subconscious level, might feel lack of money or whatever it is that was going on that me being in utero was going on.

Right. And you might carry this with you for 40, 50 years before you can go, oh, wait a minute. Yeah, you know, this feels separate from me. Like I don't want to be in this vibration in this headspace. Where why am I so stuck in it? Right. Why am I sabotaging myself to keep me in a specific place when I don't want to be there? Where is the messaging coming from and how far back does it go? And this conversation hopefully might shed some light upon people that are maybe thinking those things. Like, how do I figure that out? Going back into past life recursive hypnosis therapy would be a good, like an option, right? Sure, sure, because you might have inherited from a past life that's not currently biologically related to you, right? Uh, and it's to just do a little digging on the people that can provide services to help you trace it if you're interested in that, right? If that's something that's curious to you, that invokes some um introspection and some investigation on where's the root of this, I really want to release it. There are people out there that can help, and you are one of them that can help really open that doorway to identify the beginning of it. Right. And then cut those cords, right?

Right. Because it's amazing to me sometimes when someone will come in and go, Well, I just can't help it. That was my grandmother Mary's or whatever, right? And it's like, no, you can, but then there's a starting point. Okay, we can let's go back to Grandmother Mary. What did she think about this, or what inheritance did you get that um you want to get rid of, and we can work on that? So that's a beautiful thing about in here with the yawning, the crying, or the coughing. I am not tired, I'm not sick, I'm not, um, it's not out of grief, it's out of love because I am helping you release things and settle down the nervous system to get rid of those things that are not needed anymore. And that's the beautiful thing. And when people come in here and lay here, they can come in heightened, but then they feel settled, centered, relaxed. Some feel very tired, some feel extremely hungry, and that's okay. Everybody feels a little bit different. Some people go home and cry themselves, and that's just a form of release. I had one guy leave here and he had a rash for 24 hours. And you think about it, things are inside of us and they have to come out, and that was just his form of release. It was gone again, like I said, in 24 hours, but that's how he released that stuck and stagnant energy that he was carrying for some time.

Interesting. Yeah, like it came to the surface through his skin, maybe uh about of hives or something.

Maybe who knows? Who knows? But the body gets a hold of your attention in many different ways. And I remember as a young girl, I had hives for two years because my nervous system was heightened in a toxic. And it was screaming at me again. So I've had broken bones, I've had hives, I've had the surgeries, and it's one of those things where we need to say out loud so that inner Kim and Adult Kim hears, I am safe. I am taking care of you. You're going to be okay. This is a safe environment. Or whatever the case it is, that we just need to, I forgive you. I I know that that's a big one for me. And I have to start with me because again, emotions trickle out. So we also the good and the bad. So we need to say that we forgive ourselves and love ourselves so that that can trickle out to those that are around us.

Yeah. And the energy work that you provide helps uh create a soft introduction to that. You know, like maybe in a session, someone might get a vision of a great grandmother, right? Or um a message that comes through, just maybe a word floats across their space or something that might open up that doorway to start that deeper level of healing with your support on a regular basis, right? People can start to slowly peel back that onion and really get into um maybe some very new spaces inside of them where they're it feels unfamiliar, but they kind of know that they need to address it.

Right. It could be a smell. I've had smells, it could be visions of butterflies. I've seen butterflies, I've seen ladybugs, and there's also a sense of warmth or or a cold temperature that might come in and or goosebumps. You know, somebody might feel goosebumps while they're laying on the table.

Goosebumps is like to me, goosebumps is like a confirmation of yes. Like when I'm having a conversation with somebody and they tell me something and I get a goosebumps, I'm like, yeah, that tells me yes, that's the right thing for you. Yes, that's your truth. Yeah, it's a it's a pretty it's a pretty consistent feeling uh that comes through. And the the healing work that you do uh is so profound. And as someone that's your friend and been on your table, you have helped me quite a bit. My right shoulder stuff. It's interesting that you brought that up.

Yeah.

Spirit Nudges And Nervous System Reset

Um, digestive stuff, you know, like the nervous system is, as you said, constantly for most people, I think this day, these days, we are all in a state of fight or flight. I think everybody, including myself, is on edge at least a little bit. You know, there's there's future worries and things going on where there's a heightened level of uncertainty, right? And it's not healthy to sit in that every day, right? You know, and for those that are listening, there's there are options to soothe it, to come into a space of deeper awareness. There is spirit out there, there are entities watching over you that are protecting and waiting for you to communicate with them, right? Whether it's a something you see in your third eye, or you see out of your eye, actual eyes, you know, across the room, or if it's a feeling or a vibration, they are around, and that is the place to go to find peace, right? To find hope, to find comfort, and being tuned into your vibration through getting energy work will help you open those pathways up, right? Because you work on all the energy centers, right? And the ones where we get the information downloads are the third eye and the crown. That's where when we meditate, it works better, right? If those pathways are open to receive, and then the intention around it, like I am curious, I would like the download, I would like to know who is out there and around me. Right. Energy work through your hands and the stuff that you do can help people open that up to receive. And when you're there, it's such a peaceful place.

Yeah. Right? Yeah, it's amazing.

Yes, yes, it's a reset of your nervous system where you come out of it and you feel grounded, you feel heavy and light at the same time. Right, right.

Well, you're awakened then, so you see things differently, you feel things differently, your reaction and action is different.

You process information differently, right? Which is constantly coming at you, right? Create better boundaries around what you're gonna allow in. Right, right. You have more self-control.

I'm finding that the more I awake, or even my clients awake up, they are um noticing changes in what they say yes or no to. Right, their clothes change, the colors of the clothes change. You know, you might want something a little more free-flowy. Um, some people hold their energy in their hair. And so, you know, some people I've noticed they sit and twirl their hair. And when someone does that, it's one of those what's going through your mind right now? It's it might be the same thing as your shoulder bothering you. Yeah, just they're contemplating something deep, or if they feel like they need to brush their hair, they need to brush maybe some of the energy that's hanging on to their hair, or if they pull their hair up all the time, they're blocking some things, but if they let it free flow and kind of let it go with the wind, if you will, it's the same thing, just us going free will and going with the wind, or going with in the moment, staying in the moment. And that's another thing. As you awaken, you stay in the moment. So you stay in today and you let happen what happens today. Tomorrow will take care of itself just like yesterday did. But it's one of those things where you're not gonna be stressed or worried about it. Yeah, I might plan a little bit for tomorrow, but I'm not in it yet. I want to be here, present with you, present within this space, and present within my body through this process. So foods can change, your taste buds change, maybe the way you wear your makeup. Um, a lot of different things happen.

People you hang out with. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, I have um in my closet, I keep all my clothes in color order. Okay. Like I feel purple today. Or I feel blue today. Yeah, and that's the color that I will select. It's yeah, I've done that since I was a kid. Okay. And I have it in chakra order. Oh, so you can't put my total dork, but well, we all have our thing, right?

And that's okay.

It works for me. That's right. That's awesome. You know, it's it's uh because I feel the color, and like, what do I need more of today? I'm gonna wear that. Yeah, I love that. I'm weird that way.

Sometimes while someone is in here, I feel led to um play the clicking sticks, and it's something that I learned in a shaman class, and it's just mine specifically that I have or from a walnut tree in our property. I'm very I like things that keep me grounded, but also come from our acreage. And I peeled the bark, I sanded them down, and they have such a beautiful sound, and the bone can feel vibration. And it's one of those people do it. You get in your car, you crank on your radio, you're bee buffing, you can feel the music, or it can bring you down, or you're singing it to the top of your lungs. Music moves us, and sometimes music or sound will move a stagnation. So I will use clicking sticks or a drum that I have, or I will use these frequency pods, and I think I've used them on you.

You can did on my hips, and I felt you put them on both sides, one on each side, and I felt like a figure eight. Yeah. Back and forth between the two. Right. So it's moving, it's a familiar balancing of your root. Right.

Right. So again, sometimes I feel, oh, you know, this just needs a little extra push. And so we'll if I'll either do those sticks or those pods on that particular spot, and it helps awaken that stagnation within that spot, just like you know, getting acupuncture or acupressure, just a little bit of extra nudge to kind of help move that um that stagnation of of what's stuck there and move it down through the body. Yeah.

Explain to the listeners what energy feels like to you.

To me when I'm working on someone, or just in general for me.

In general, for you, um, when you turn on your chargers, yeah, turbo boost yourself. Like walk us through the process of how you do it and what it feels like.

Yeah. So sometimes, okay, so we'll just use your hips for an example. Sometimes I'll just feel like, you know, that it's not moving forward sometimes. And sometimes, um, and it could be something current, it could be something old, like when you were a child, it could be a generational thing that's just coming up, right? And so sometimes I just I feel led to do it and I will lay them on there. I have some that are just for three minutes long, and then I have some that you can set for 15 minutes and they're different frequencies, and some are, you know, for generations or some are for um DNA, some are for detoxification. There's all different settings that you can set them on, but the bone down to the bone and the body will feel the vibration, and it I can feel it too. It's one of those where I can almost feel like a whoosh go through your body or goosebumps. And sometimes I'll even say to clients, my hair just went up. That's my goosebumps, my hair goes up, right? I just feel like everything released, and so it's one of those where the body ache or the stagnation or just whatever the emotion that might have been stuck there was released. And so for me, if I feel heavy somewhere, or again, if I'm coughing, it's deeper, or if I okay, so for the throat, if I feel like I can't get the word out, or if I haven't to clear my throat, I'll go to that person's throat because I feel like they're the heart and the throat chakra are in one, if you will. So what am I feeling that I'm not speaking? And so a lot of times they're in alignment with one another. And so are we speaking our truth? Or are we in a crowd and somebody starts to gossip but I don't like gossip? Do I stick around and do I contribute to it? Do I get up and walk away? What kind of a stand am I gonna make? Am I gonna stand in my truth in that? Because if they're gossiping about whatever, they're gonna be gossiping about me and I'm not gonna feed it. I'm not gonna be a part of it. So sometimes we feel a little uncomfortable, but we need to find the comfort in being uncomfortable, right? Sometimes there was one time I was heading home. Yeah. One time I was heading home and I heard very clearly stop here for gas. Was not my usual gas station, but I was like, okay. I mean, we don't always understand why, but we feel it or we hear it and come to find out there was an accident at that intersection down by the other gas station. So it saved me some time. I wouldn't have been able to get in there. So you just never know where God, your guides, your angels that we all have are gonna lead us. And so we get these little nudges or little hear these little soft voices that say, Stop at this gas station. And it could just be true. Yeah, and so it's one of those we just have to be clear within our senses, and that's why it's important that we meditate and we prayer because I feel like God speaks to us in a whisper. But if it's a very loud, voisterous, in your face anxiety, high-toned, I to me it's not of God. It's not, it's an anxiety.

Is your ego getting in the way? Which is very, very common, you know, it's it's almost more dominant if you let it be.

Right, right, right. Because nobody likes to be thought that they're wrong, right?

Vulnerable or you know, nobody's broken, right? But someone might slap a label of of that on themselves, which is not gonna help the process move along very well, right? Right.

I used to I used to uh be upset by labels. That used to bother me. That used to bother me that I was labeled as a number five in the algorithm, or that I was passive aggressive on a certain decision making, or that I was quiet or not a participant. But when I became aware, I'm an observer, that's who I am. I sit and I observe the room, I observe the energy, I observe the people that are in it. So that's a good thing because that's who I am.

It's even you own that, yeah.

So God made me who I am, and I'm now taking ownership to it, and I don't apologize for it. There's no need for us to, but I ask daily that I stay within my senses and not my thoughts, that I stay out of my ego and that I don't puff up like a banny rooster thinking it's all about me because it's not. There's there's a supernatural part of things.

It's rarely about you.

Well, I think well, right, right, right. There's more of a supernatural than a natural thing going on, and we don't always see it, but we can sense it and we can feel it, and we don't always have to explain it. I can even say to somebody, I don't know what's going on here, but I'm seeing, I'm seeing, oh, for a client, I'm seeing seahorses. I don't know what that means, but that's what I'm seeing. And she gave me an explanation that suited her of what was going on in her life. And it's like, ah, so cool. It's so cool how things come up that help us heal on our own individuality.

It doesn't always make sense right at the beginning. Sometimes the client needs to kind of sit with it for a moment, right, and kind of think how it could relate to the situation that they're in. Because we get our downloads in mysterious and sometimes funny ways. Yes, right, and it doesn't always make sense, it just doesn't always make sense. But when the client can be like sit with it for a while, it it always makes sense in some way, right? You know, whatever it is, however that means something to them.

Well, and it's for them, it's not for us, right? Right, yeah, yeah.

First Sessions And What Practitioners See

So for the person that is new to all of this, yeah. Do you find that when people come in to see you, um, they're already open? Or do you find that some clients come in like very, very closed and just curious to know more about what all this energy stuff is about? What does it mean? Like for the new person, like how do you approach that first visit?

Yeah. So I always ask them if they've had Reiki or energy work before to find out what they're looking for, why they are here, and what they're expecting out of the visit. 95% of my clients have they might have had a different modality, or they might have been not that this has been I'm I'm a I am for therapy, talk therapy, or other modalities. This is just one more extra tool. This lets the body and the mind come together. But um, they're already aware that it could be woo-woo or just a little on the strange side, or the goosebumps and the hair goes up, right? You know, so um they're they kind of relax and settle into it. Some of them are very nervous because the body will always tell you the truth, but the mind will lie. And when we can get out of our heads and let our bodies tell the truth, then that's when we can heal. But telling the truth of our secrets, it's a hard thing and a hard place to be in. Yes, but I really try, that's why I pray over my clients and I let them know this is a safe space, that I'm a safe space, I'm a space conduit for them, and that um their body will only let them release so much at a time of what they're ready for. So um a lot of them are ready and they're they're here for that for that. Curious.

Yeah, they're curious. And just to let people know that we are not mind readers, right? If you lay on the table and we put your thing our fingers on your head, we're not gonna get a download of your entire life story and every secret that you have. Right, that's right. That's not how it works. You know, we get little hits of things here and there, very random for me. You know, sometimes sometimes a um a past loved one will come through. I get a lot of past pets that come through. And um, but it's not like we're downloading all of your weaknesses, all of your vulnerabilities, everything bad about yourself that you hate. It's like we're not getting that. That's not coming through. We're here for the opposite reason, right? Right? We are here to be the conduit, like you said, and put the energy in, not necessarily take the energy out. The energy that needs to move will come through and out in its own way, right? And time. Usually it's through, you know, through an emotion, or sometimes you can feel it come out through your feet or your hands or escape your body somewhere, right? But it's not we are there to move things along in a beautiful, positive, healing way. Right.

The consciousness, the access consciousness bars is another form of it that I do that it's just 32 points on your head, and I place my hands on your head, and I can feel if the meridians are moving through your body or if they're stuck. So there's different things as far as creativity and money and sexuality and communication. Um I just lost one. I was gonna say it, aging in dreams, but there's um, oh, creating life forms is what I was wanted to think of. And you know, we all have those concerns and we all think of those things, but it's just placing the hands on the certain points that move the meridians, just like an acupressure, an acupuncture, and opens them up as well. So it's just a different modality that I work with and do. Sometimes I add the clicking sticks or the sound pods in conjunction to those, but it kind of gets you out of that rabbit hole in your head and settles you down and calms the mindset and the body down as well.

It's just you ever combine the two together?

I have, I have it, it depends on what's going on, but sometimes I'll be working on that and it's like, oh wait, you know, something right here just isn't shifting yet. And then I will go to um to the body part. I'm a hands-on reiki person, some are not. Some people just hover over the body with a um and feel energy, but I just do a light touch. Um, I feel differently that way. I feel heat or cold or stagnation, if you will. So for me, I like to touch if um the client is open. To that. I always ask and then make sure that that's that's that's my modality and how I go about it.

And it's a gentle just hands-on. You're not squeezing or manipulating tissue in any way. You're just placing a hand on a part of the body that needs your hand there to move the energy.

Reiki For Animals And Their Releases

That's right. You know, when you touch someone in that manner, I had a nail business for three years, and you'd give somebody a manicure or a pedicure, and they will chirp like a canary. And I'm sure that's why all hairdressers hear everything, right? Because they're being touched and they're they're getting their hair, the energy released from their hair, safe and however that manner looks. And so it that's the same thing. You just lay your hands on somebody's body, just real light, and the body's like, Oh, yeah, there it is. And it will let you know. And a lot of times you can talk through the sessions or you can sleep through the sessions. There's no wrong way, and every session's gonna be different. Yeah, and it's the same for animals. Animals will tell you, and they're powerful to work on. They will let you know after they've come in and done their sniffing or whatever, they will put their body towards you of where they want you to go, whether it's on the spine, on the legs, on the heart, the ears. They may have, you know, stepped on something a little wrong, but everything is connected internally and externally, and they will let you know as well. And I've had I've done cats and dogs and horses, and they will their release is also yawning. It's funny to see a horse yawn or they'll quiver their lips a lot. I've had some just pee and pee and pee. I've had one yeah, walk away and go and drink a lot of water and then come back to me. I mean, they will tell you um in their own language and in their own way, but they carry so many things of ours because they love us and they feel energy. Cats feel the most energy of any animal, but um they just let you know, and it's one of those things they need they need taken care of as well. And it's just one more form of releasing their energy that they're carrying. That um I feel like as humans, we we should be doing that for our furry friends, our fur babies.

I love that. And um, do they come to your office or do you go to people's houses or remote?

I've done both. All three. I've done both. I will do because sometimes animals they don't uh some cats don't like to be crated, right? I mean, it's a thing or leave their house. Yeah, or leave their house, or some dogs just might be going through a little something they don't feel good to leave, or they might feel a little aggression, and it's not safe for them to leave. So it's just one of those things we just talk about at first and then we come to a conclusion. And I if I work on horses or any other animal, I like the owners to be there as well because sometimes what the animal is carrying again is from the human, and I need to put a hand on each, and we need to work on each. If I go to homes, you got to think about it. Sometimes when you leave here, you're feeling different, more centered, but then you get home and you feel that heaviness, or um, it just feels thick again. A lot of times your home needs to be cleared, homes carry memories, and that also needs to be addressed. And so that's again for me. I can come. That's where the clicking sticks come into play, the drum comes into play, you need to open the windows, you need to walk from room to room. Mirrors are a huge conduit for stagnant energy or entities to stay in and carry. And reason being, that's where we stand, that's where we look into the mirror. And are you saying something negative about yourself when you do that? That's where we give our most self-judgment. Some people can't even look at themselves in the mirror. And I is it's interesting. I like to challenge people. It's like, can you stand in your bathroom, bedroom mirror, look at yourself for two minutes, and just stare at yourself. Think about it. Can you do you look away?

You're not putting on your makeup or doing your hair, right? You're just doing the thing. That is that's hard because so like I've tried that, and a lot comes up. A lot of stuff I don't want to hear comes up, right? Right. And there's been practices where you know you stand in the mirror and you say, I love you, I love you, like over and over and over again for like a minute. I love you. And like, what happens when you say that? Do you find joy or do you get emotional?

Right, right. And again, your inner child needs to hear it. It's a challenge needs to hear it. And it's a good thing, and it's a good practice to get into. Because do you look away? Do you giggle a little bit? Or do you stay there and can you truly get into the core, into the soul of your being? And it's two minutes, it doesn't sound like it's very long, it's a long time when you have to really reflect on yourself, like looking behind your own eyes, like what's in there, right?

Yeah, right. But I think that the more people can can do that and get some healing work done, there that there's it's just another technique to unravel, right? Because a lot of what we all beat ourselves up somehow. There's always like everybody's got negative self-talk, and we are our own worst critics, and quite honestly, nobody gives a crap as much as you do about yourself, right? I mean, that's true, everybody's in their own bubble doing their own thing, thinking about themselves and what they need, right? You know, and the way you look and the what you're doing, you know, not many people care.

Right.

So if that takes some pressure off, great. You know, if that makes it worse, then I'm sorry, I just said that.

Well, if it makes it worse, then it makes you want to have to remember. It makes you something I didn't think about.

What are you gonna do? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's all um change within, right? It's not an external thing, it's a it's uh self-love and self-acceptance. How do you get to that point where you can do that for yourself? Right.

And when you start doing that for yourself, you start noticing that in others. You start looking at the heart of people, you start looking at the inside of people and what's coming out of their mouths and not the external part of them. That this is superficial, this is just fluff stuff, right?

It's our meat suit, right?

So God looks at your heart, the universe looks at your heart. Um, and that's where we need to be looking at. So is it coming from a heart felt of love or is it ego?

Yeah, yeah.

It's hard to discern sometimes, you know, what is who is leading, you know, which one is leading the parade, right? Yeah, because when none of us want to seem like we're wrong or screwing things up, right? So, or making poor decisions, right? So the ego for most people, I think, is louder than the heart, right?

Heart Space Living And Clear Boundaries

It is you know what's interesting is that my husband and I were at Shields in Loveland the other day, and I find that store very overwhelming. So a lot of times it's a bit much. I just sit at the bench by the Ferris wheel, and he does his thing, and then he knows where to come and get me. But I like to people watch. But what I caught myself um thinking, what was fun for me is watching the kids react to the fish tank and the Ferris wheel and how happy they were with it and the childlike within them. But then seeing the adults coming in very stern, right here, in their box, on a mission, going where they need to go. But I I wanted to, I caught my mind's eye thinking, oh, you know, she's so thin. Or, you know, that's not a very good outfit. And I really had to catch myself thinking that's judgment, Kim. You need to stop doing that. You need you don't know where they're at, what they're doing, what they went through, and where they're going, and where they've come from. And so when I switched that within myself and started looking at them from the heart space and set my vibration up a little bit higher and got out of the noise, the light, and what was around me, I saw them differently. I could see aura colors around them, I could see light around them, whether it was light, dark, wide, thin, from their bodies. And it was a beautiful place to be in. And so I have to again do a daily check wherever I'm at and whatever I'm doing. Look at it from a heart space and yeah, from a head space.

That is such a great lesson, you know, because the headspace is draining of your energy, right? The heart space, it gives you energy. That's where we're all supposed to live, right? You know, right, but life is, you know, so it's it's hard. I love that you said that you told that story to send the message out, you know, for people to be less judgmental of themselves and others. Because you do, you simply don't know what the story is. They might be an amazing human being, you know, in every way, you know, they might be a lover and a giver and just a really, really great human in a really bad outfit. Yeah, right. Well, it's true. You just don't know. You gotta think that everybody's great unless they prove otherwise. Yeah, you know, but even the people that aren't so great, there's parts of them that are tender on the inside, you know, they're just they just start deeper down and harder to find.

Well, nobody's immune to trauma, nobody's immune to it. We've all had something, right? And it's like, what are we gonna do and what's our action and reaction going to be to it? Are we gonna live in the past or are we gonna do something about it and move forward? You know, um we could all use that as an excuse. Well, I just can't help it. Well, you can, and I don't want to be stuck in that, I don't want to be that person, so I'm gonna make these changes and do something about it.

And so this is just one more tool to help people that are interested in not being in that space anymore, that draining heaviness space. Some people are perfectly happy there, yeah. Well, they thrive in it. Some people thrive familiar, right? And that's where they feel most powerful, you know, but you can shift that power for good. You can stay in that ego space, but use it for good too, right? And I think we need a balance of both. Ego helps us survive, right? Well, you have no ego, we'd probably be doing stupid things and putting ourselves in danger all the time, you know.

Well, that's where your awareness comes into play.

Well, and then making those decisions and just thinking is how is this going to affect me for one? How is this going to look on my higher being of whatever I believe in? And how is this going to trickle out and affect my children, my spouse, yeah, you know, my friends, my practice? I mean, we all have to think about that. And it's one of those where I don't do something if I don't feel comfortable with it. And I'm okay with the word no. I didn't used to be. I didn't used to, I used to say yes to everybody and no to my husband. And so I would be off running trying to help everybody else because I was afraid to tell them no. And yet he's out here in no man's land, and we're supposed to be together. So out of disrespect, I was saying no to him and yes to everybody else. And once I learned to not have to try to please everybody, but please my help, help me please him. I mean, because we're joined together, right? We're we're one now, and it's one of those he doesn't need to know everywhere I'm at out of control. It's just out of respect and who I'm with and what I'm doing. And so for me, I feel it's important to check with him first. And then if I don't feel comfortable with it, I don't do it. And it's okay. It's okay. Right. I like to explain it as like intercessory prayer, if you will. You know, it's it's one of those, it can be felt. You were on my mind today, and you can let somebody know that. Or, you know, we're given a thought, we're given a feeling. Hey, I'm just checking in, something doesn't seem right with me today, or you know, I'm just making sure you're okay. And that's the same thing. And so, yes, it can be done. And I do have clients that do live in other states, and I've done them locally as well. You bet.

And I think most people have had those moments where they think of somebody, yeah, and then they call them or text them. Right, right. That's what it is. It's that's what the energy is.
