149. Grace and Peace: Philippians 1:1–2

In this episode, we begin with the life-giving foundation of the Christian life: grace and peace. “Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:1–2). Paul’s greeting to the Philippians isn’t just a formality — it’s a profound reminder of our identity and standing before God. Grace is God’s unearned favor, the very gift of salvation in Christ. Peace is the result of that grace: peace with God, peace in our souls, and peace with others.
