Just as two football teams oppose each other on the field, God stands in opposition to the prideful. Pride shows up when we seek our own glory, rely on ourselves, or make everything about us. But God offers grace to those who walk in humility. We are reminded that apart from Christ, we can do nothing, and our only boast is in Him.
