192. When You're Afraid of Death: John 11:25-26
Death is certain, but so is the promise of Christ. In John 11:25–26, Jesus declares, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live…” These words offer not sentiment, but solid hope—grounded in the finished work of the risen Christ. As believers, we don’t face death with fear, but with assurance that to depart is “to be with Christ, for that is far better” (Philippians 1:23). If you’re unsure about eternity, cling to the truth of Romans 10:9: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” To encourage your heart, I’ve included a special demo at the end of this episode—a song my daughter Sarah and I wrote from Romans 10. We’re recording it in Nashville next week along with other songs from Romans, set to release later this summer. Let your fear of death be swallowed up in the hope of resurrection—and let the Word of God dwell richly in your heart through truth and song.
